A little clarity... Ronnie Jame Dio is Melody's biggest inspiration. He passed from Cancer in 2010. The Dio Cancer Fund is a benefit fundraiser. This year it was a virtual concert. Liliac was invited by Wendy Dio, Ronnie's widow, and played alongside some of the greatest names in rock. Listen to the original, it will all make sense... these kids are simply fangtastic...
Rodney James Dio cover he sang in the 80's. Sam is throwing in some pinch harmonics and along with the organ keeping the traditional Liliac sound. Absolutely right! In the last 6 months they've covered Master of Puppets and Symphony of Destruction and took their skill to 11 all over again both times. And this is a new level, probably because Dio is Melody's musical idol. Oh yeah they did all that, including the video in one freaking week. Talented much?
This was the best song that was made specifically for the Dio birthday Cancer fund.Melodio killed it and they helped sell a lot of tickets for the fundraiser. My opinion best of the show worth the 20 dollars.
Saw them live last night and they did last in line as the last song before the encore. They are an amazing live band. Melody's voice is even better live. Great reaction!! When they come to your area THEY ARE A MUST SEE.
There are a lot of great covers of this out there but very few come close to the intensity Dio put into the vocals on the original, they sound great but there's always something missing. Melody found that missing ingredient and they hit this one right out of the ballpark into another time zone!

Glad you did this straight away Lee. Iconic Dio song for sure! They will get to Dear Father after they shoot the B rolls with Melo, and after this leg of the tour they said. Yesterday was an all Liliac day for me, and the Fangs. We watched the Dio Cancer Fundraiser live, (this song was made for that), then the concert last night in Vineland NJ. They dropped this song on YT while playing on stage! The preshow soundcheck was of this song, and it sounded even better live! Fun fact... I was at one of their shows recently, I was next to Melody & Papa watching the opening act for them, rock this song perfectly. You need to listen to Dio's original of this. Besides staying true to Ronnie James Dio's singing, Sam stays true to Vivian Campbell's guitar playing. I listen to The Last in Line by Dio daily and these kids nailed it. Melody's voice is so unique that I had a work buddy in my car and one of their songs came on and he said "I know that voice! That is the family band where the singer is one of the sisters." I have to add though that the same guy was amazed I listen to metal. Most of the older workers listen to country or soft rock. LOL RORH
Melody's voice is very distinctive but she still channels Ronnie J. Dio...especially when she does one of his songs! You can tell his music imprinted on her bigtime growing up...heck for that matter, it looks like he imprinted on the whole band!
Your absolutely right about Melody's voice and that's why I loved this the band from the first time I heard them. And they did an awesome job on this video. Thanks for the fangtastic reaction Lee. Fang4Life! RORH!!!!

A great reaction to a great cover of a great Dio song! A pleasure to watch! :) This isn't about a relationship or a story. It's philosophical as to whether humanity is evil or divine. We're the last in line to find out. The song describes a singer going to see a dangerous witch to find out the answer.
Ethan's bass is really providing a heavy foundation for the Band. We know Melody's unequal vocals Sam's technical guitar work and Abi's development on the double kick But it is Ethan's that really has stepped up. Justin does a nice bit on the keyboards and one of these days we are going to hear some Jon Lord like flourishes from him I am sure.
