Great reaction Struthy! I saw them live on Dio's birthday in New Jersey. They are an awesome live band!! Melody's voice is even better live!! They ended the set with Last in Line and did Rainbow in the Dark as the encore!
Recently just by accident stumbled over Liliac. So glad to discover them. We were able to see Ronnie James Dio 2009 in Wacken. He would be proud. Nice to see such great covers of rock classics. 🎶🎶
When they did Holy Diver and Rainbow In The Dark, Wendy Dio became a supporter and asked them to be part of this Birthday fundraiser. Also Vinny Appice has taken Melody under his wing so to speak and she recently sat in with his band Sabbath Knights to perform 4 DIO songs, including this one. He also has given her the nick "Melo-Dio". But being an independent band makes it hard for them to really take hold in the rock world. Labels can be brutal and will try to monopolize them. Glad they have a dad who won't allow it and is fierce about keeping his children from that riff raff. Applause to Papa Liliac. #RORH

I think most of the acts watched the entire stream. Lzzy Hale hung with us in the streams chat the whole show, and just talked to us, like one of the fans there. She was stoked with Liliac. They in all honesty, stole the show, and had a small group interview, before this video played. Jack Black did a short song with acoustic guitar player.

What is really amazing is that this was insisted that thy do it by Wendy Dio, RJD widow and they were given ans unpublished version by Vinnie Appice one of the former Dio drummer. LIliac had a week to record and film this and they did it in five days.
That was almost true to the official release. This is a bit longer, and a version done by Dio not released. It was true to that. They actually did release this on the 10th, after the premier was done on the cancer fundraiser show. Shout out to Cristy Rawks for the suggestion! 🤘 Edit: And Norman!

Welcome back Struthy!! I love Liliac's covers and their original music. I really love how they take a cover and clean it up a bit, polish it and turn it loose with their own touch. But, keep it true to the original.

They have a featured girl sing on the new release, she was good, but Melody could have been a fantastic addition in my opinion!

The 2 reasons for that are: 1. They're independent so don't have lots of money. 2. They only had 1 week to learn this song, rehearse it, record it, make the video, then edit and release it. So, quite a time crunch to do all that, and thus a simple video. Check out either their original "Mystery," or their cover of Megadeth's "Symphony of Destruction." Those have been released since your last reaction. Take care.
The lead guitarist - oldest brother Sam used to sing the lead until Melody came into her own. He provides backup vocals. But Melody can almost be her own backup. 😊 Her head is almost like a natural harmonizer for her voice, especially when she hits those high notes of hers - they sound like her root notes mixed with pinched harmonics! Amazing!
Sam has a very good voice, but more suited for Pop music, which they did when they were younger and only 3 members, Meolody, Abigail, and Sam. Even then at the age of 11 you can tell that Melody would be a special singer.
Yep ,your right! Some of her current songs are of course FYRE!!!! and there's a few that just make my knees almost buckle! And those EYES!!!!! HOLY smokes!! She's got looks that are going to melt people's heart's where they stand!!! But my goodness can this young woman sing! She puts Fire, spit, grit, blood and venom on it for sure!!!
Sam the lead guitarist does backup vocals. When they were young and just starting out. They were under their last name called The Cristeas. Sam was the main singer and Melody did backup vocals. They both can sing. But Sam's voice when they were just starting out was for Pop-music. You should look them up singing the song Stay and another one called Say Something, and another one called Just Dance. They were great just starting out and I think Melody was 11 when singing at first. And Abby also plays the Accordion. All of them play more than one instrument. Today Justing the keyboardist is learning to play the guitar now also. Such a well-talented family. Also, Papa Liliac was a singer himself. He has a couple of Music videos floating out and about himself. And I think Mama Liliac was a dancer in some of his videos. He was great as well. He went under the name of Florin Christea I think or it was under Chriss Christea.

Sure, Richie and Tony were awesome prior to Dio but, he brought out a new style of their play through his voice, lyrics and phrasing. Vivian Campbell was awesome with Dio. Now he punches a time clock with Def Leppard. With Ozzy, it was Randy who before was not doing much in Quiet Riot. ….and to a lesser degree, Zakk Wylde. All of this arguable of course, but certain and rare musicians have this ability. Dio, in my opinion was the best with this gift.
