Some injection tips (I’ve been doing them for years for meds): If ur doing it in ur stomach sit down and lean back, it relaxes the muscles making it less painful Defrost the injections (if they’re refrigerated ones) Push it in slowly, it’s less painful (less of that burning sensation) Try to vary the injection spots bc over time that spot will develop scar tissue and make it more painful
I agree, great tips. Additionally, if you want to let it sit a bit so it doesn’t burn as much, let the individual vials sit out (if it’s ok by dr) BEFORE mixing them , then mix and inject quickly after mixing.

My daughter went through IVF last year. She’s a single mother by choice and is due with her 1st child the end of July. She handled all the injections, schedule, Dr. appts, etc by herself. It’s a difficult path with lots of ups and downs and emotions but the pay off is enormous. Hang in there!!

Girl ur fierce..... ty for sharing such an intimate time between u both. Such respect for u going thru it n for Shane being so supportive. Loved u guys for years can't wait to see this next journey
You’ll get more confident at the injections as you go, and you’ll become a pro at getting the medicine prepped. We did IVF at the start of last year. Yes, they can get stingy. The slower you inject the medication, the better. The side effects I felt only happened closer to the egg retrieval and then it was just headaches and bloating. Keep hydrated. It helps. You should do what I did and keep all the vials and needles. For our pregnancy announcement, I surrounded the ultrasound of our daughter surrounded by all the discarded needles, syringes and vials we used to conceive her, and the positive pregnancy tests. It’s such a powerful image; I love it. Shows you just how far you’ve come to become parents and it’s a great reminder of how incredible science is. PS, Shane’s support is amazing. Exactly what you need from your partner in life and it’s what will make him a great dad
You are getting much braver Hannah! I'm surprised you don't call Charisma since you are both doing this. (I'm excited for all four of you!) I'm also happy for you that you are dealing well with all the hormonal changes. For those of us that have had to give ourselves belly shots, you quickly learn that A. You will not hit any bones regardless of the needle size or body thinness. B. Ice is just another step you really don't need because we are not really feeling it anyway, the "stuff" is inside, ice is on the skin & in my case, I was busy & just wanted to get back to my day quickly or maybe I'm just too lazy to bother with it. lol. Mine did burn every time but it was for my disease not IVF. I did switch sides because it was twice a week & scar tissue does build up over time. That just makes it a bit harder to inject there, the product works just the same. JMO
Thanks for sharing your IVF journey withus! Hannah you're doing great! I love how supportive you both are to one another!☀ Also Hannah, I Love your cookie designs!
Injection tip from your friendly neighborhood diabetic: It definitely helps to rotate your injection site! It hurts less in a fresh site, and you're less likely to develop scar tissue. You're doing great with the injections! It took me much longer to be able to give myself shots that quickly.
Wishing you the best of luck on your journey. I hope you get the results you are striving for the first time. I love watching all your posts, you two make a great team in love and life. Great job it takes a lot of will power and strength. My daughter is having an embryo transfer July 27th if the meds and her body line up with that date. I watch what she is going through and her husband. I know exactly what you feel and go through. You can do this!!!!
Hannah I feel your anxiety about injecting yourself. I live with MS and I self inject once a week. I have to really talk to myself at times. Hang in there kid. You got this. 😊😊😊
I had to inject myself daily for 6 weeks after I had a big operation and had very limited mobility after. I thought I would struggle but I surprised myself and found it easy. Had to do it for my husband also after he had a big surgery for prostrate cancer and he found it hard so I just did it for him. X
As someone who does needles very often make sure the alcohol is dry on your skin otherwise it will sting. Follow your instructions not people suggestion’s when it comes to mixing the meds. PS don’t stop injecting. Good luck
Excited to watch this journey with you guys. You are so sweet.I was a surrogate and did not mind the needles but if they bother you, I'm not sure if your nurse already did this but they can give you a run down of the butt injections and mark your butt cheeks with Permanent marker so you know exactly where to do it because that shot is a lot worse than the stomach one 😬 best of luck and sticky thoughts!!
So excited to watch this! You're doing so great. I feel kind of lucky and a little bit ashamed about how easy it was getting pregnant. Definetly not taking that for granted anymore.
This is crazy you do all these steps at home! I struggle with remembering to just take pills. Glad Hannah your side effects so far are mild. Fingers crossed for you both 🤞
