In 2007's Wolf Guy I have to admit, Haguro was absolutely compelling to me as a villian because you had a human being who looked upon a werewolf and said "I can take him."

I know that this manga isn't for everyone because of all the rape scenes (Berserk have that too) but it got some really good action scenes. I also like the way how they handle the relationship between Akira and Aoshika.
Its very unique for a hidden gem manga.

Berserk's rape scenes at least served a purpose for the story... Wolf Guy was just a straight-up porno.

I actually finished reading the 2007 Wolfen Crest. I actually loved the Inugami in that version where his sheep/stray dog calling antics came off as hilarious and how he grows to be a more compassionate and determined person, especially when he eventually gets called out for his initial smug attitude and makes some tough realizations. I also shed tears for him for all the trouble and pain he had to put up with in the latter half. Not to mention what happens to him at the end. Also helps that his design resembles similarly to that of Ryo Takatsuki from Project ARMS (Another pretty obscure series outside Japan).

Nice to see your pun game is as strong as ever! I love me my tasteless, exploitation pulp as much as the next guy, but Wolf Guy is one of the weirdest accidental rabbit holes I ever went down. Legitimately, I have no idea why I’m so drawn to this series despite its sloppy and off writing. But I think your bit on the end sums up my feelings well. It’s kind of hard to not be so attracted towards these kind of things out of simple curiosity and just general fascination of “How far is this gonna go?”

I've known about Wolf Guy here and there, but I never really knew it had this interesting of a history behind it or that Kazumasa Hirai was involved with it. Hirai seems like one of those Writers in Japanese fiction or manga that seems to be pretty well known in Japan, but never gets any recognition outside of it, esp for 8-man.
I find it's funny how you said that the novel versions of Wolf Guy served as a basis for most adaptations of it, because that kinda reminded me of what happened when he did the novels for Genma Taisen, which were adapted in the 1983 movie.
I've known about the sonny chiba movie for a few years, but not really looked into it. The 2007 Manga seems cool artwise, despite the excessive violence and sex, but given the team who made it would do shin mazinger zero I'm not that shocked about it.

I used to love werewolves when I was young thanks to An American Werewolf in London so this Manga seems interesting. I just got to 11:00 and kinda had a feeling we were going to go that way, In Asia isnt the wolf connected with picking up girls and sexualaity, Kinda like those old warner brothers cartoons where the character would turn into a wolf when they see a good looking woman.

I love the 2007 manga - read the whole thing online couple years ago. This video cleared up many things for me because I also got confused about the Wolf Guy cartoon and Chiba movie, and didn’t know it’s from the 70s adaptation. I have to admit the dark tones in the 07 manga were really over the top but on the other hand I can also see its realism in today’s psycho world. Not like those tasteless human conditions never existed in the real world. I found myself can’t stop rooting for our protagonist to put those motha*** to the f*c*king ground. And I keep hoping for a live adaptation of the 07 manga to come to fruition (minus the nudity and then some). The story do have a great potential to be a very good film. If so this movie would be on top with 1994 Wolf and 2010 The Wolfman. Any recommendations for good wolf man movie ?

I cannot help but perceive this video as a cleverly executed satire, intended to exaggerate a certain element that may appear obvious, while neglecting the more commendable aspects. Indeed, this creation boldly delves into the limited mindset prevalent amongst majority viewers, who unanimously fixate on a singular component and ignore the rest and base their opinion on that. One dimensionality.
In examining Wolf Guy: Enraged Lycanthrope, it becomes evident that there are numerous misinterpretations within your assessment. The movie is a masterpiece when cinematography, authentic and heartfelt performances by the cast, and an overall exceptional aesthetic presentation... is concerned. Regrettably, the more gratuitous sexual elements that detract from the film's impact, causing it to fall short. However, despite these flaws in taste, the film compensates admirably through its captivating visuals and manga faithful shots. Which is what it fundamentally sought out to fufill.
In essence, this movie resembles the most decadent cake, cloaked in the most delectable frosting. Eh on the inside, Wow! At the surface level.
