Opening night at the Quinlan - Debra Yaun, a Scratchboard Exhibition

A Scratchboard Exhibition by Debra Yaun. This presentation is the culmination of over 3 years of dedicated work, preparing for this solo show. It shows her dedication to nature and animals.
While visiting the Chestatee Wildlife Zoo in North Georgia while doing research for her artwork, Debra became interested in helping the facility in some way. She learned what a struggle it was financially to feed and house the animals at the zoo. She tried to think of a way to help and decided to create a scratchboard (Chestatee Tiger) from one of her personal photos taken at the zoo and donate it to the cause. This artwork is on display at the Quinlan Visual Art Center’s Winter Exhibit and will be sold at silent auction with 100% of the proceeds, including Quinlan’s commission, going to Chestatee Wildlife Zoo.
Debra’s accomplishments are too numerous to list but include authoring many instructional art books for Walter Foster Publishing. She has held major positions with organizations like Colored Pencil Society of America National & Local board, Georgia Art League and Portrait Society of America. Debra has been an art teacher with different organizations over the years and presently teaches at John’s Creek Art Center.
