Amazing!! :) I collected some cuttings and a few programmes over the years...I met him at RAF Catterick and he signed a card for me after he'd got the Gold Medal...I was only 11 and my school pals were so jealous!! I thought he was fantastic!! :) Thanks for posting this ;)
Neville was a good all round athlete who among other things, was nifty at 100 metres, played a very good game of table and lawn tennis, held the RAF shot put record and was the boxing champion. He won a Commonwealth gold medal for Britain and as shown here won the British Heavyweight boxing title. He had an awesome punch but his weakness was women and above all, he did not like to train and often ran out of steam when he had his opponent well beaten. Shame, cause he could have gone much further.
Meade had a big right hand on him that's for sure, good to see fighters like him getting some success late in their careers. Just shows how heavyweights have grown when you see that Ferries weighed in at under 15 stone. If my mind serves me right didn't Dave Pearce stop both of them?
What a right hand - Thunder from hell and Ferris was on the end of that thunderclap-!!HE misses the first Big right hand - holds back on to the second one for another day f!PHEW- PURE DYNAMITE-!!!!!!!

That's sad. I didn't know. He used to serve curries at Ock's in Swansea, easy to get along with.
So Ronald, how did you know my father?
@madmax8903 He doesn't look that bad here, certainly appears to have more technique than say Jack Bodell for instance or Richard Dunn
Why was that dumb referee counting for?. He should've been trying to get the gum shield out.
