Far left wing beliefs. They think keeping anyone locked up for life is "unethical" and "inhumane", acting like the concept of moral responsibility is "oppressive" or "fascistic" or whatever. The far left seeks the inversion of all cultural norms and traditions. The criminal is championed, the policeman is vilified. Like, sure, the justice system has a ton of flaws, and police brutality and corruption are issues we need to keep an eye on for sure, but these nutcases take it so far they use slogans like "Abolish the police!" and "Abolish the prison system!" I'm not talking about your average Democrat so much as your average Antifa member, the type of person that calls the Democratic Party "far right" because they don't fully embrace Marxism. But these beliefs seep into the mainstream left in a watered-down form, so they do end up getting laws passed that ban life sentences, which the left has succeeded in doing in most Spanish-speaking countries.
Whoa! Hold up. Aileen Wuornos most definitely took responsibility and imo, she deserves some sympathy. So do some of her victims. She said she needed the death penalty and that sye wouod most definitely keep killing if she ever got out. Saying she killed the first guy in "self defense" because she "claimed" he raped her, pisses me off. He did rape her and she did kill him in self defense. She was greatly neglected in her youth, by her Mother, her Mom's pimps and John's, and by the system. She suffered from Mental Health issues. She wasn't just a cold blooded killer who did it for fun. She honestly thought she was gettung rud of bad men (who had familes and kids but were going out and paying for prostitutes and could have brought STDs home to their wives.
You do understand she can believe that because of mental illness, but the reality is she was just killing people who she saw had more money on them, it was almost all opportunistic. The first murder yes, was most likely in self defense, but the others were not excusable. She was broke from blowing her money on drugs and continued to kill people to take their money. She shouldn’t have been executed because she blatantly suffered from paranoid schizophrenia on top of other mental health issues, but she absolutely deserved to be sitting in prison. Countless people survive horrific childhoods and do not make the choice to murder. She did.

@@Jman92854 aaaaaand you missed the point. But that's fine. i'll take the time to explain cause you weren't a jerk. "A life for a life" think about it. someone takes a life, then someone is imprisoned for life or killed in response, then someone takes revenge for that and then there's an avenging of the revenger's revenge. etc. etc. etc. The Nordic and Gaelic people had a system for this, i won't go in-depth but it involved blood feuds and blood money, i don't know if you know what i know so i'm going to elaborate a small bit. Blood feuds were wars between families bloodlines, blood money is what was paid by one family to another depending on injury and loss of life. That system didn't work, it evolved from "a life for a life" which was "if you murderize one family member of ours we can do it to one of yours" whcih then opened the gate to basically a murder-chain. The blood money system replaced it and still didn't correct it. So ya gotta think contextually, a life for a life doesn't work. although I wholly agree that certain people need not be amongst us. The chris hansen documentaries are a great example.
Aileen was a victim of a CD serial I lier who she escaped from and was able to kill him but she did not report it, she was abused by her grand parents who kicked her out of the house when she was 13 with no place to go no money she was homeless she slept in the woods at night and eventually became a street walker for money for food her grand parents should have gotten arrested for abuse and neglect but no one seemed to care

My grandmother used to take the bus with him in Rochester, New York and she would tell us there’s a big huge scary looking guy in the bus and then she saw him on the TV one time… she said oh my God that’s a guy used to take the bus all the time…..scary
Have a look at Eileen Wournos start in life and ask yourself .”Did she EVER have a a chance at a happy fulfilling life . She is not a monster . Society made her do murder . She was a broken human being who only wanted a chance at happiness .
She was a monster ok, partly a created monster. But since not everyone with such a horrible start to life becomes a multiple murderer, it does look to me like she made a choice others did not. So she IS culpable.

Why was Aileen Wuornos killed so quickly after her sentence when there have been men on death row for DECADES?? The world HAD turned on her. Was killing those guys right? Hell no but her rapid execution was shocking! There are HUNDREDS OF MEN on death rows all across our country. Why was she killed so quickly is my question. She was NOT represented very well AT ALL! She should have been given a life sentence and NOT BE MURDERED. Her story is such a tragic one. No i don't think people with horrific childhoods should be granted favor, but.... it sure should be taken into consideration. Life as a child WAS. A LIFE SENTENCE! She'd be paying her dues since the day she was born. Read her story and see for yourself if she got what she deserved.
Did you not look this up before commenting ? The time has nothing to do with the fact that she is a woman, her 1st appeal (1996) was denied ( because you are aware she confessed killing the last 6 men) In 2001 she petitioned the Florida supreme court that she wanted to dismiss her council n terminate all pending appeals n that she killed those men in cold blood , she didnt want to continue crawling thru the system and that she would kill again if released. She asked to have the execution. So if you are wondering why it happened quickly is because she stopped all appeals
I felt sorry for her her abuse as a child I feel if someone would have helped her maybe her life would have been different. I don't think she ever knew or felt what being loved
Her counsel just exploited her. She had a rough upbringing. For her, it was a matter of doing what she had to do to keep the only person she thought loved her. She was not properly represented.

Regarding Aileen Wuornos, if this were a man who had been horribly abused would you feel the same? It's sad, but women are often given way more sympathy than men in the same position. Neither a man OR woman in this position deservers sympathy. We all experience traumas. Some worse and more gruesome than others, but that doesn't give us a right to kill and harm others. Seek help. Often times we know we need help, but choose not to seek it. We become no better than those who abused us originally. I don't feel sorry for her. Nor would I feel any different if this were a man. Funny how much sympathy can be had towards a woman no matter how horrible the crime. What a world..
This is so true. Lots of serial killers had terrible upbringings and nobody has sympathy for any except for Aileen Wournos. It's like no,having a bad upbringing doesn't make it ok to kill people.

We cannot hear any interview. The narrator does not shut up and let us hear the interviews!

Host? You mean narrator?
Whoa!
Okay...give me a sec'...nope, sorry, I've got nothing. No sympathy, at all.
She did.

I am shocked myself... She had ptsd for sure... I am sorry for her poor life
She stopped her appeals. Did those men deserve to die? No. Did she deserve the hand she was dealt growing up? Also no
I felt sorry for her her abuse as a child I feel if someone would have helped her maybe her life would have been different. I don't think she ever knew or felt what being loved

Note: never ask a serial killer about the most infamous aspects of their crimes.
