    Love the old piston radial and inline engines, they sound great and have a soul. Turbines just ain't the same.

    the second engine shown, the Pratt and Whitney R2800 double wasp, was filmed at Anderson Aeromotive in Grangeville, Idaho. It was the primary engine used in the F4U Corsair and also used in the P61 Black Widdow and the P47 thunderbolt (Jug).

    At the .45 second the guy standing to the side inline with the prop! We learnt to never stand in line with the prop.

    You'd think these engines would have a cage in front of the machines, just on the off chance someone might want to end it all.

      What’s funny is that the sound of an inertia starter was used for the “ spinning up” of the Tasmanian Devil, of cartoon fame

    That origional engine looked like it was a prop strike....lucky it did not blow up from internal damage...on the bright side it sounds good

  • @mikehawk9626

    I am still in amazement that the guns mounted behind the propeller never hit the blades while shooting

    • @msquared6324
      @msquared6324 ปีที่แล้ว

      its just a mechanical cam that triggers the guns when the prop is not in the line of fire

    • @urnoobfreind
      @urnoobfreind ปีที่แล้ว +1

      they also had hardened steel sections in the early days because bullets DID hit the propeller
