Followed you from the start of your P*2 days receiving mine 2 years ago. You had so many informative videos that convinced me to purchase. I aim to keep it for many more years of trouble-free motoring. Thank you
Agree with your sentiments over older franchise dealers. Hyundai asked me so many questions when I asked to test drive the IONIC 5 and hounded me for weeks about getting one. Polestar, Tesla and Genesis were super relaxed about it. It makes a huge difference to your perception of the brand.
as a Polestar owner I‘m of course sorry your switching to Tesla 😉. I really liked your Videos and how you argue and will surely stick to your channel at least to see your first impressons of the MY. Good luck with the new experience. I guess its also a great car to own, but by far not so handsome-good-looking. Best wishes to you from Bavaria
Thanks for the time you've taken over the past few years to introduce and share your driving experience with the Polestar - This was a huge help and inflence on my decision to get one back in 2021.
I agree. The Tesla and Polestar sales experience is lightyears ahead of the comptition. VAG in particular are useless at everything the last few years. Starting my Polestar experience in a few weeks. Although I never looked at the model Y, it is well priced and looks a lot better than the model 3.
I got a model Y one year ago. British guy living in Norway. Recently went back to UK for a visit, with a 4 month old baby. We had a big stroller bag, one hard shell large suitcase and a large 50L soft Helly Hansen bag, + some hand luggage. Had to use a roof box when getting picked up in UK and a very uncomfortable ride back to Heathrow in a Nissan duke. With a car seat in too. Got back to Oslo airport to our car. Threw the 50 litre bag in the back under storage, other bags straight in on top and more room to spare, not even using the front trunk. Granted it’s not as premium build as some other competitors, but it’s fully loaded with no extra cost (unless you get premium connectivity). Huge space, ease of use. Good choice I’d say!
I can recommend the BMW i4 edrive 40. It can do 310 miles on the motorway in the summer on a full charge and 240 miles in the winter. You can fit two retrievers in the back which was a deal breaker for me over the model 3. I couldn’t go for the model Y as it wasn’t out at the time. Only real downsides are the length (it’s long), the turning circle, and the fact we have it on a 4 year lease at 18,000 miles a year. This wouldn’t normally be a problem, but the missus has helped it to do 24,000 miles already, and we haven’t even had it a year….
I tried the Tesla Model Y but wasn't that impressed with the build quality but I can understand the appeal of the instant delivery, plus the advanced tech and the chance to try something different. We have an Audi Q4 and this channel, along with a few others, have convinced me to go for a Polestar next year. Hope you enjoy the Y!
I found your channel this time last year, when we had given up on VW ever building our ID.3 Max and started looking for alternatives. Having previously test driven the Polestar 2 at Fully Charged Live we were seriously impressed with it and it was the car we were most interested in so started reading up on it a bit more. We had a similar good experience with Tesla in Reading though, booking a Sunday test drive for a Model 3 only a couple of days ahead and actually also getting to drive the Y on the same day as well. On the day we also went to take a second look at the Polestar in the Westfield shopping centre in London to sit in and remind ourselves of it. It immediately felt a lot more cramped, especially as I'm 6ft3 with long legs so there is hardly any space behind me and we struggled with the lack of storage space in the front which I know you've previously mentioned. In the end, less than two weeks after driving the Tesla we had one on our drive, the exact spec and colour we wanted even down to the tow bar. The Polestar is a lovely car and definitely felt more premium and the better to drive, however after 11 months and 22000 miles already racked up we're very happy with the Model 3 (though if it were a hatchback it would be better still!). Tesla's aren't perfect and not to everyone's taste, but I think you'll enjoy it. The regular software updates, phone as a key, the app, the supercharger network all just work so well as a package. Yes there are some annoyances and quirks but we haven't got any regrets. In comparison it is frustrating to see the seemingly slow pace of software updates and improvements on the Polestar. I really thought the Google integration would see a faster pace of development.
That is really great to hear. I really loved the Polestar, great car but you raised a good point about interior space. It's not nearly as spacious as the Tesla. Really looking forwarding to getting mine and seeing how it compares.
I have a 2024 Polestar 2 Performance on order. Had a 2 yr lease on 21 Polestar 2. We also have a Tesla Model Y and love it. I guarantee you'll love the Tesla. Don't listen to haters. Both Polestar and Tesla are fab!
Trouble with the Y (and Tesla in general) is that unless you get the performance version, they just look so cheap and uninspiring. Polestar is interesting to look at , Tesla just makes a 50k car that looks like it cost 30k. Imagine if they actually had a team of good designers.
Thanks for all your videos. I too am leasing my polestar 2 but my lease is up in Jan 2024 and my mileage won't be a factor. I looked at the Tesla and noticed panel gaps and after reading so many consumer complaints I checked them off my list.I have narrowed my choices to either the Fisker Ocean or the Genesis GV60,both very comparable in specs to my Polestar. I wish you good luck with your new purchase and thank you again for all your well made and informative videos.
Tesla has quality issues, sold all my Tesla for a P2. Mine had gaps, the rattles, windows and lights were falling off. I am not buying any Tesla ever again.
My Polestar 2 is going back in October after 3 years too. I had a Polestar 3 on order but it's not looking likely it will be ready for October, so Friday I placed an order for a BMW iX. Good luck with your new Tesla MY, they have more space and room over the P2, which is also one of the reasons I went for the iX.
At first I thought: "OOOhhhh NOOOOO! 😦 The beautiful Polestar! The weekend started so well, ..., and then this video."😑 When you said that the delivery times from the other car manufacturers are long, I knew that it would be a Tesla, and as a loyal subscriber you also know that the Model 3 is too small for you and that it will only be a ModelY!😉 I was at Tesla yesterday and also drove the Model Y. First the LR and then the SR. I'm still torn as to whether I really need a ModelY. It just uses a lot more than my Model3 SR+. One does not become younger and getting in and out is better in the Y. 😉😊 But the quality has really improved in the 3 years! You are so personable, would also watch your videos if you drove a hybrid.🤔 I wish you all the best with the car swap.🙂 Greetings from Switzerland.
Sorry to see you leaving your Polestar behind, because I have always enjoyed your videos. In fact they helped me make my decision a year and a half ago to buy a Polestar. Ironically, one of the deciding factors was your video(s) comparing your Polestar to the Model 3 that you had the use of for a few days! But I look forward to seeing your new videos about life with a Tesla Model Y, especially as you may sometime provide the perspective of a former Polestar owner.
Tesla definitely have their supply chain sorted with delivery times. Other manufacturers absolutely a joke with their 6 to 12 month back orders! Model Y though, I just couldn’t look out my window at it in the driveway, but each to their own on looks that’s for sure! The interior also I put in the low-rent class. Just too gimmicky for me. Thanks for all the informative videos over the years!
My company has two Model 3, both cars suffered faulty suspension, and after 6 months, the parts had finally arrived and fixed. Tesla just does not feel like a premium car but the super chargers make all the difference. Both of our Teslas were driven to Germany a few times and the experiences were stress free with so many superchargers around.
Good luck with the model Y. The build quality has improved since you bought the P2. You will enjoy 1. The space 2. The efficiency 3. The supercharger network 4. The software and updates. The number of people who will hate you for switching to Tesla will surprise you. I’m thinking about what to get when my model 3 lease runs out in 1 year.
Congrats. I am sure they will sort out the steering wheel issues. I mean, most of them do not have their steering wheels come off during driving so it's not "that bad" ?
It has been fun and informative to watch your Polestar content. I really like the car, but I chose a 2021 Tesla Model 3 LR, in Dec 2020, for many reasons. I think you will find the Tesla ownership experience to be a much smoother one. Cheers, Phil
I ordered a polestar 2 a year ago .. and after waiting 7 months I binned it and went for a model y. the polestar has the looks, but i bet you will love the y. its brilliant ... apart from the common public charging issues and even at reliable tesla chargers you will likely have a wait to get to the charger :(
Would like to hear from you how the real world range compares between Polestar and Tesla, and is the difference consistent with the difference in quoted range or is Tesla more efficient than that as the internet seams to make me think.
Would your lease company not allow you to increase the contract mileage? Normally you can after the first and before the last six months. I wasn’t impressed with the Ioniq 5 personally. I’m coming up to two years in Model 3 LR and it’s been incredibly efficient. 243Wh/m over 18000 miles 👍
I’m in the camp of interested in Polestar 2 but would never buy a Tesla due to Space Karen. Will be interesting to see how you find it after the Polestar. To my eye the Polestar is gorgeous whilst the model Y is very challenging to look at. The Model S is the only good looking Tesla but it’s a pretty old model now
Yeah, I'm just not on the Tesla train. I have no interest in them and after driving a 3 for a weekend and riding in several bumpy Ys, I just don't like them. I think there are so many other better EVs now in terms of car qualities but no, they don't have the charging network or Tesla's OTA updates. I agree that the S is an attractive car and I find the Y the worse looking one of all.
I was hoping when you said not Polestar, you might have gone for the Genesis GV60 premium which I think has some availability and a similar price to Model Y. Anyway will watch with interest how you get on with Tesla.
Definitely a great choice - objectively the best overall option and also some pretty epic subjective elements! You will love not having to take the car in for updates!
Thanks for videos on the Polestar. I've decided to hand mine back too .. also a lease. Wont be getting another. Thinking about the EX30 instead of the new Polestar 2. Struggling to find something in the Polestar that the EX30 doesn't offer and it's way cheaper. 20cm shorter .. and that bothers me a little, but think I can live with it.
Thanks for your videos, I have a model 3, and a Polestar arrives tomorrow for 4 days to try as I also need to consider ordering my next business lease. Tried the IONIQ 5 and EV6 and the Tesla was still a much better EV. Looking forward to trying the PS2 and seeing how it compares.
@@toolrulz8005 well... It went back yesterday, and... Of all I've tried, (EV6, IONIQ 5, EQE, XC40 this is the one I didn't want to hand back! Felt much more solid than the Tesla, range seemed ok, new one has more range anyway. Would have liked auto main beam etc. Also, this had the light leather upgrade which is 4k... Can't justify that. All in all, at the moment, would choose this for my next car. 👍🏼👍🏼
@@chargedup8491 That’s great, I have the full pilot and plus packs MY2022, the pixel lights are great and yeah I couldn’t stand Tesla either. The Polestar 4 is also round the corner but it may not look as elegant although it has more space. Good luck
I originally subscribed because very keen about Polestar. I've enjoyed your videos - thanks. BUT. I'm one of those anti-Tesla guys because of Tesla company policy re workers rights and Musk's bad behaviour. So best of luck.
@@domtdoodar99 Multiple law suits and payouts for racist treatment. management refusing to fix toxic workplace environments. A big payout in California. People fired for daring to attempt to unionise. Take a minute to Google it before revealing your bias and ignorance.
Interested to know what the workers rights are like at the Chinese factory that the Polestar is produced in. Im not having a go, it’s a genuine question - if you’re boycotting Tesla (& this channel in future) because of workers rights, I’m assuming you’ve done the research on working conditions in Luqiao. What makes it better to work for Geely than Tesla?
Great videos, keep us posted on your experience with your new car; my current 2-year lease on a M3LR is ending in December of this year and I am starting to contemplate options; I've been tempted by the PS2 (MY24) but may stick with Tesla, either the same as I have now or go up to an MYLR. Saying that I've fallen in love with the Polestar 3 as it's built from the ground up as an EV and ticks all the boxes for me....however I am not sure I can justify spending nearly double per month even as a LLC lease. :)
I’m sure you’ll enjoy the Model Y - will be interesting to hear about your experiences with Tesla vision as yours could well come without ultrasonic parking sensors. Let us know how you get on.
You don’t have to justify a Model Y by it being the last cat standing…it’s a great car, with great build quality now and I love the Scandinavian minimalism…a different kind of quality interior.
@shortcurcuit, your channel will continue to be watched whatever you're driving 'cos you make your videos so informative and 'in the real world'. Thanks for that 👍 Not that it matters now that you've arranged to return your Polestar and go with the Tesla, but did you not consider either increasing your mileage and/or extending your lease? I guess it depends on who you're leasing through but from my own experience I've learned I can extend for up to 2 years and also increase the contract mileage. Anyway, look forward to seeing your Tesla reviews😊
Thanks, yes very good point! I did think about that but I didn't actually ask about costs to do this. Partly due to the fact I really like trying out new things and felt the Tesla would be well worth trying out.
cant wait to replace my Enyaq in 2024, late 2023 and 2024 will bring so many nice cars, EV9, Macan, P4, Grecale Folgore. But yes, if I would have to change NOW, 90% I would go for model Y
Not only Tesla is miles ahead of everyone but their biggest strength is their availability, you get your car under 2 weeks if your option is right. There is no other ev cars can be obtained that fast and easy. I’d love to buy Hyundai ioniqs but these are almost impossible as getting a new Ferrari lol.
If you are looking for something different but with great spec, high level of luxury and very nicely priced why not to go with NIO or BYD? Driving P2 now and VW eUp. Having a few other EVs in the past, including Tesla 3, Tesla is on the very bottom of my list due to many issues with the car.
as a Polestar owner i’m obviously disappointed like others following your channel. i had the impression we were sharing the same views on Polestar and Tesla but you finally ended to fall for a Y 😂 thanks for all the very informatives videos. they were very helpful. too bad you decided to go for a Tesla Y why not taking a courtesy car in the meantime while you wait for the car (that’s what i did). the delivery times of cars manufacturers are becoming a major issue. Here a Polestar would arrive in September if you order now and a Tesla in April. but other brands like Audi, VW, BMW are well over 1 year which is simply insane. I strongly considered the i4 which was for me the best of all the EV i tested but their delivery times were just crazy. this combined with the price increases and Tesla at the same time reducing their price by 12,000€ is a major asset for Tesla right now. you really need to hate Elon, his company and all the downside of his cars not to consider them as an option. I’m curious to see what will be your impressions on the Y. The major issue for me with the 3 was the trunk opening. The Y has a very interesting boot space (if you need some which was not my case as i was happy enough with the P2). But it still has all the other bad aspects of the 3. Especially the ergonomics and above all the lack of a instrument cluster that is for me a dealer breaker together with the central screen having a font size too small to be used while drive and not being oriented towards driver and being subject to a lot of glare. when it tested it i had a neck ache after 5 min. So silly when you consider that the Model S has a good instrument cluster and a vertical screen (which is much better than a horizontal one) and oriented towards driver. The P2 was simply better matching my criteria. I wish they would release a station wagon. Almost nobody has a EV Station wagon and it’s a pity. good luck and all the best with your Y. I’ll surely watch your videos in future even if you don’t drive a P2 anymore.
We bought a 71 reg China built model 3. £52k of our hard earned money. Within 3k miles it was covered in stone chips especially the lower doors. We took it back to Tesla and they said that was normal and refused to fix it. Tesla are a terrible company to deal with. No one at the service centres have and authority to authorise any repairs. The take photos and videos then send them to the US! They wouldn’t buy it back from us even at trade price. In the end we sold it at 3 months old with 3k miles for a £5000 loss. There’s also a parts shortage in the Uk and cars with panel damage are waiting up to a year for repairs! Never again will we buy Another. 🤬
Hi, unfortunately I'd really found it tough to find the time to make videos over the last 9 months. My regular line of work ramped up so much but I do still want to make some content in the future so hopefully will find some time this year.
I totally understand and appreciate what you have already done. Be amazing to see your conclusions once you have driven the new car for a while. I wish you well anyway. 💕
My mark 1 Ioniq lease is up and my Kona arrives at the end of the month after a 9 month wait. Do shop around , currently I am with Drive Electric but EletriX was able to provide me with the Kona for £66 a month less. Sorry you are going for the Tesla, Musk is such an unpleasant person who does not deserve support
One Chinese car to another. Sad and prob not good for the channel as the Y has been reviewed to death but shows choice is still limited in the EV space. Hope you enjoy the Y

Struggling to find something in the Polestar that the EX30 doesn't offer and it's way cheaper. 20cm shorter .. and that bothers me a little, but think I can live with it.
Won't you be waiting a hell of a long time for the EX30?
arrives first week of may@@sandersson2813
Thanks for your videos, I have a model 3, and a Polestar arrives tomorrow for 4 days to try as I also need to consider ordering my next business lease.
Tried the IONIQ 5 and EV6 and the Tesla was still a much better EV.
Looking forward to trying the PS2 and seeing how it compares.
So what did you think about the Polestar? Do you still prefer your Model 3?
Good luck
How did you find the ride smoothness on the Model Y vs. the Polestar 2?
I originally subscribed because very keen about Polestar. I've enjoyed your videos - thanks. BUT. I'm one of those anti-Tesla guys because of Tesla company policy re workers rights and Musk's bad behaviour. So best of luck.
I completely understand!
Spot on. I wouldn't give Musk a penny of my money. Disgusting individual.
Where has tesla been treating workers badly? (Haven’t heard of this, interested to know)
@@domtdoodar99 Multiple law suits and payouts for racist treatment. management refusing to fix toxic workplace environments.
Thanks for that 👍
Not that it matters now that you've arranged to return your Polestar and go with the Tesla, but did you not consider either increasing your mileage and/or extending your lease?
It wiuld be nicer to mention on title that you were leasing the car to not give bad impression !
Having a few other EVs in the past, including Tesla 3, Tesla is on the very bottom of my list due to many issues with the car.
as a Polestar owner i’m obviously disappointed like others following your channel. i had the impression we were sharing the same views on Polestar and Tesla but you finally ended to fall for a Y 😂
thanks for all the very informatives videos. they were very helpful.
too bad you decided to go for a Tesla Y why not taking a courtesy car in the meantime while you wait for the car (that’s what i did).
the delivery times of cars manufacturers are becoming a major issue.
Is your channel defunct now? Doesn't seem to have been anything for 9 months since you changed the car?
Going to a Tesla from a Polestar seems a step backwards
Next video: Tesla service is dreadful, I'm leasing a Polestar again. 😆
Oh God, not another Tesla. Unsubscribes.
Sadly that was a predictable ending..
One Chinese car to another. Sad and prob not good for the channel as the Y has been reviewed to death but shows choice is still limited in the EV space. Hope you enjoy the Y
Sorry, neither car is "Chinese." Maybe built in China but certainly not designed and engineered there.
@@benjaminsmith2287 made in China. By Chinese people, using Chinese batteries, Chinese metal, Chinese glass etc….they are Chinese.
@@zxyqwerty123 Manufactured in China. Designed and engineered in either Sweden or the USA. So many Western products are made in China and not in their country of origin where they are designed. And they are globally sourced so not every material comes from China. An Audi made in Mexico is Mexican? I think not. Made in China doesn't make a vehicle Chinese. Made for the Chinese market and designed and engineered by a Chinese firm (not Chinese owned but Chinese produced) makes a car Chinese.
@@benjaminsmith2287 I respect your opinion but I don’t agree that Polestar are not Chinese. As for MIC Tesla same. It’s a good thing as the Chinese produce quality products these days unlike say Americans….
@@zxyqwerty123 Polestar is Volvo. They are full of ex Volvo personnel and are rebadged, sporty tuned Volvo. The parent, Geely, provides financing for both brands but they're close to autonomous in management, design and engineering. In the future Polestar will be made in the USA and Europe.
click-baiting title 👎
You think tesla y is a luxury car?? LOL!!!!
Ahahaha ahahaha ahahaha
You can't increase the mileage on the lease just by paying more??
A LOT more... For the leaser the resell value of the car is what matters.
@@1kreature More than having to pay to return it early and pay the 4000+ miles he is already over??
I was hoping your next car would be the Microlino… 🥸😬
ah ah such an amazing car i love it ❤
Wonderful car but not a family vehicle though - unless you have a family of mice or puppies.
