my final posting exam is in a few days and my mind is very saturated with information rn... your videos makes me laugh but in the same time, its making it easier for me to retain all of the information! thank you so much, dr. medicosis !!! you're a life saver!
Thank you so so much!!! The way you clear things and mix the past information to the new one is amazing! I’m sooo happy that you became a part of my nursing journey❤
Thank you! I have been having all kinds of mild to moderate physical and cognitive issues, and my Nephrologist ran an "Intact Parathyrin" level test. Mine is 110.8 pg/mL. I think that we might have found the root issue, and I knew that MedicosisPerfectionalis would have an excellent informational video. ❤
Excellent ! We're doing patient education courses for hypoparathyroïdis patients and it'll help us a lot to explain what the PTH does for our body. Thank you !
Which of the following is true about PTH? 1) Increases calcitonin secretion 2) Lowers phosphate levels in the blood 3) Lowers calcium levels in the blood 4) increases in response to hypercalcemia
@@MedicosisPerfectionalis I always share your videos with my friends and when we group study you are our No.1 teacher... Thank you also for doing it for free! You are part our journey in medicine!
I’m convinced that I have some issue with mine. As I’m having high calcium issue in my urine and my doc likes throwing pills at it. I’ve gotta find a doc that will help me
Do you recommend for a 4th year student (step 2 technically i geuss) to start working on case reports or writing narrative reviews to publish and which topics do you recommend ? also what sources to study Step 2 do you recommend ? Thanks for the amazing content
That was funny that was great. How can I get a patient’s parathyroid to decrease to help with your kidney function? I can’t take your class right now. I’m so booked up with other classes but I have a patient that I really want to help. Any recommendations would greatly be appreciated.
Very interesting but I was hoping to find out what levels associated with the parathyroid were and how high or low they could get bc I had a surgery done in that nature and was curious, for anyone that has more knowledge then me, question is a parathyroid hormone level of 172, serum calcium 12.1, vitamin D 19.6, bad? I'm fine now with no after effects just wanted to know how close I was to dying lol
thank you so much, but what will happen to plasma phosphate if we have hypoparathyroidism? because parathyroid hormone decreases it, and active vit.D3 increase it, but we need PTH to activate vit.D3 ?
Why does HPT cause hypertension? I read it activates beta receptors of the endothel, shortens the repolarisation and influences the myocard. But hOw? 😂 (Also there aren't many studies with gopd quality data)

thank you so much, but what will happen to plasma phosphate if we have hypoparathyroidism? because parathyroid hormone decreases it, and active vit.D3 increase it, but we need PTH to activate vit.D3 ?
It causes hyperphosphatemia because reabsorption of phosphate in the kidneys is inhibited due to low PTH levels :)
