I can relate the logic of getting stronger to have more fun on the bike especially when riding with friends, id much rather watch them suffer as opposed to myself 😂
Interested to see how you get on over the next few months, FTP is great for setting your training zones, not too important after that 🙂 also it's very possible to improve a lot but see very little increase in FTP 🤝 go get it
With your 210 FTP, our w/kg are near as damn it the same now… I still don’t fancy my chances against you on those Durham hills next month though! 😂 Best I jump on the trainer! 🥵
I did that same test on Rouvy a week ago, my first ever. And boy did that hurt! 🥵 A quite interesting outcome was that my FTP was only a few watts off from what I expected it to be just by feel!
Only recently from a turbo trainer to a smart trainer and using Mywhoosh certainly as it's free is surely not burning my wallet like before.. COVID days Zwift was my best friend. I was the lowest weight ever 😅 Am not racing ever so never done a ftp test maybe it's time since I have a smart trainer with some serious elevation control Never ever gone off saddle on indoor trainer before 😂😂😂
FTP is a weird metric, as how well you ride also comes to your weight vs the FTP. My FTP is around 330, but I weight over 80kg. So I am slow compared to many of the people I ride with who have a weight in the mid 50's to low 60's. But at least I can boost about having i "high" FTP ;)
