I was on an MSC cruise from hell last April on MSC Divina; I was supposed to have a $200 onboard ship credit. I showed the customer service desk staff the paperwork and proof I was owed the money. The staff did nothing and didn't seem to care. If that had been the worst thing about the cruise, I could have lived with that, but it wasn't even close to being the most significant issue. The cabin next to mine was full of cigarette smoke that poured into my room under a door that the two cabins shared. When I complained to guest services, they did NOTHING. When I went to the buffet on the 14th deck, other folks around me and I saw people smoking. I complained to the staff who did NOTHING! Thanks to the entitlement of individuals who smoked, I got sick with a sore throat, my nose was clogged, and my eyes got red, which ruined my cruise. NO ONE, and I mean NOT one staff member on the MSC Divina, cared. I met a woman, a nurse from Germany on the cruise who complained about the stench of weed she smelled on her deck. NO ONE CARED. I saw an elderly man with Parkinson's disease complain that he had asked for a cabin for disabled people when he booked the ship, and the room was unacceptable. He left the cruise early without compensation because no allowance was made for him. The food on MSC Divina was awful, from runny eggs for breakfast to a steak that could have been used for a hockey puck. I had paid for my laundry to be done. The staff held it for more than three days, and at 10:35 p.m. the night before disembarkation, my laundry showed up - it was too late to pack it and place the luggage outside my room correctly, so I had to drag my suitcases with me during disembarkation. There were good things about the cruise. The first would be disembarking from the ship. I couldn't wait for the cruise to end. I admit the cabin was nice. I had a deluxe balcony cabin. However, I couldn't enjoy the balcony because everyone around me was smoking on their balconies.
We are hearing more and more negative stories about MSC to the point where we are very concerned and may not book them in the future. It’s a shame because they were doing some amazing things.
We’ve sailed on MSC and agree the steaks are bland. Easily fixed with some sauce or a reduction. I prefer saltier steaks, but if you’re ready for bland, it’s not that bad. Mediterranean people don’t like to use as much salt when they cook.
The buffet at dinner time consisted of: Freshly Cooked Pizza A Grill Section (Burgers, Hot Dogs, Steaks etc.) Wellness Section Rotisserie Pasta Family Dining Ethnic Corner (Usually Indian) Bread Salads The food in the MDR was ok for the most part and on some occasions really nice, however the service was very substandard with slow drinks service and the waiters all hovering in one central area as opposed to buzzing around their respective tables, and very little direction from the maitre d', in fact we never spoke to ours not once did he come over to introduce himself all in all it was a very impersonal service.
I’m not much of a meat-eater, so the thought of going to a steakhouse seemed pointless. But it was part of the dining package. Luckily, this venue had other plates to choose from, and I selected broiled salmon, which was topped off with an herbaceous chermoula sauce and sitting on a barley and corn risotto. Naturally, even though my stomach was nearly at capacity, I had to enjoy dessert - a silky chocolate lava cake with vanilla bean ice cream, along with two glasses of Chardonnay.
Ok YES YC restaurant is opened for lunch on port days. Having a difficult time finding the last dinner seating time. What I can tell you is it is open seating, we never made a reservation but we’re seated immediately three times, and I do recall leaving the dining room at about 10PM one night, so the latest seating might be 8:30 or 9:00. Hope that helps.
MSC is the worst ship Its to large and food is truly terrible. I admit I eat most anything. The one positive thing I will say is the staff tries very hard. Unfortunately there’s nothing they could do to correct the problems of being understaffed and treating guests as a number. It seems unlike prior cruising. This is all about the numbers and profitability, and squeeze us in like we were all sardines and take away amenities that we used to have. Not only that some of the amenities that they specify we don’t even get like champagne and chocolate upon going into a certain room class, personally, I think that Pennywise and foolish and eventually it will cost money sooner or later it will bite them in the ass
I trust Celebrity realise they will not only lose the customers mor these bookings. Those customers will never return to Celebrity. Customers return time and time again once they find a line they like. Upset those customers and they’ll never return. They’ve lost not only the 50,000 ticket bookings on this occasion, but also all their future bookings. All this because Celebrity couldn’t have waited one season to start the permanent deployment in the Caribbean. It speaks volumes of the regard Celebrity have for their customers and I’m shocked.

Maybe that's why they provide you with salt and pepper on the table to add to your preference?
Try chicken on Holland America. The only good meal is breakfast!
"what ice cream can we get that is overpriced?" 😂😂😂

"What can I have that's overpriced?" Legend!
Someone caught that finally! THANK YOU!
Hi again! Is the YC restaurant opened on port days for lunch? Also, I heard it closes around 8:30 at night--is that also correct? Thank you!!
GREAT questions, not sure of the answers. Digging into this now!

@@admtim Thank you so much for finding this information--so incredibly helpful. Thank you Tim!
Kaito Teppanyaki on MSC Seaside is exceptional! Strange how it’s so different on Seascape. Seaside is better in so many ways.
Completely agree.
Bullshit
We can anticipate the smells and tastes !
Prolly like any other cruise food
The fine dining hall serves serves frozen hamburger patties. Even carnival has fresh burgers and there not on the menu of the fine dining room
Heard the pizza is exceptional
Yes, exceptionally bad
MSC is the worst ship

That’s the trouble with private companies. Large IDGAF attitude from the top down.
Yes, it isn't good. I got food poisoning. We've been on RC and Carnival and they were better.
@@johnclark5172 YIKES! How do you know it was food poisoning from the ship?
@@admtim I got it on my 4th day on the cruise. On debarkation day I asked around, and some other guests said they also had food poisoning.
@@johnclark5172 Wow! So sorry that happened to you. Hopefully they've fixed whatever was going on in that kitchen.

Funniest channel on TH-cam

Food was awful.great deserts though
100% agree the food was terrible! I would rather go back to The Seascape, way better.
Was the fake accent or black gloves while eating pizza necessary?
Is your lack of a sense of humor healthy?
Here comes the race baiting 😞
What fake accent? Are you mental?
@@WestCoastCultured “cultured” people don’t poke fun at my subscribers. Take your uncultured ass out of here.
Yo she mad cuz she prolly hungry 😂
It seems like worse than what you can get from Hibachi buffet.
Truth!
