Our first RV was a 2001 Damon Intruder 36ft gas. It was pretty nice. We bought it (2003) from a retired couple who bought it new in Quartzite. Believe or not it came with a ice maker.
For an entry level diesel pusher at 20 years of age the roof is in very good shape IMHO. Thanks again for the content James. I really appreciate your channel.
Happy New Year! Thanks for making these videos. A great wealth of info! It would be cool to have you do a Q&A sometime (either with live questions or from viewer submissions.)
The metal plate is for a ground plane CB antenna to work. Fire Stick in Phoenix make several that are for non-metal mounts, works on fiberglass vehicles.
Nice to see a Damon on your channel. I have a 2006 Daybreak, even more entry level than the Ultrasport, but with the TPO roof. It has also held up well. Thanks!
I am looking at purchasing a Used 2000 Damon Ultra Sport 3480. They said there was soft spot in the celing in the rear and over the driver front but is no longer leaking. This explains why it happened. Still going to get at the price being offered to me, Looking foward to it.
That is a pretty nice RV. Is that a ford chassis? I do not remember if they built on the ford or the workhorse chassis. Thanks for the education again. Stay safe and healthy Sir.
I have yet to run into anybody who had a Daymon they didn't have a lot of problems with. I have a 2016 Fleetwood Flair, can't say I'm impressed with it so much either. 😒
Fantastic review of the RV , all great , however, no matter if the awning has a broken spring, or there is some problen m or other with the roof, none of what you talk about has anything to do with keeping the wheels turning, for me that is much more important, next time have a look at what does . Best A.
Hi, have you watched all my videos? I do interior/exterior, I don't work on the chassis if I can help it, but I do everything else---So I mean it could still drive but everything else is broken.
First thank you for sharing your knowledge. Secondly the Filon roof on a Winnebago can't use Dicor because from the factory the used silicone, therefore, dicor will never stick to where the silicone was used ? As compared to this where Dicor was used from the factory allowing Dicor to be used as a repair ? Saying all of that. Dicor can be used on Filon as long as silicone was never used in the are previously? Third. I wish I had an option for RV slides to have just a gear set that I could attach an electric drill to open it instead of motors that make for a costly repair. Have you ever seen something similar used in RVs?
yes, many manufacturers use dicor on filon, but Winnebago uses silicone which will always be on any of the factory installed components. If installing a new component on a winnebago, any sealant can be used, but then there are different sealants that can confuse future repairs.
Hi James , I have question , that’s off this topic. We received of WB 2022 View recently and noticed that the slide doesn’t completely close. There is about a 1/2” gap at the bottom of the slide and about 3/8” at the top. This occurs on both sides. Tried running it out about 6” and back in a few times. Any thoughts ? Thanks
for its age not a bad rig would rather have that roof material vs TPO and the interior doesnt look to dated! WGO has a 10 year roof warranty are any of these bad roofs being fixed under WGO warranty?
At about 2:36 sec into this you coined the term "wonky", that made me search and discovered it is indeed an adjective that according to Cambridge Dictionary can mean (1. weak, unsatisfactory, or not firm). Is this the meaning you were conveying or was it one of the other definitions of the terms use and meaning? 🤣😆😉
@@AZExpert , ... Wonky = also means Silly, Absurd, nonsensical and or Not quite right. American language was an odd duck for me coming from German to English. We both appreciate a simpler rig! You always have great explanations as to why certain materials are better than others, and what to look for!
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching! :)
I don't know a lot about RVs but you make it easy to understand. Thanks!.
Awesome, thank you!
Love the outtakes! Thanks for the video.
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching! :)

Interesting to learn about Damon RV's. Thanks James. Happy trails!
You bet!
My new RV Guru. Great video, thank you for it,

The steel plate was for the ground plane on the antenna. Some people swear by them some don’t.
Thanks for watching!
James, we all appreciate your videos, thank you for taking the time to educate! Are you going to Tampa next week?
Nope! I will be working in Arizona
I understand! I wanted to get your thoughts on the Berkshire XLT, have you inspected or heard anything, good or bad about that line? Thanks!

Just to let you know I really enjoy your videos.....especially the bloopers. Lol🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😎

I like the oak interior in this coach. The new ones look like Ikea land.
Right?
Just found out you are a fantastic and incredible electrician! 👏
Thanks for watching! :)
Thanks for watching! :)
You rebuilt a double converter? Wow !!! 👏
I'm like RV so much 😊😊😊
Wow that’s nice!!
Thanks!
Happy New Year.
Thanks for watching!
That thing is nicer than the 2017 Allegro Open Road I’m working on now.
Thanks for watching!
That's a nice motorhome, just needs a washer. Too bad they're going to have to decide on a roof pretty soon.
Thanks for watching!
Hey James, ever have one of those mounted ladders give way?? You do like going up and "testing" them
LoL No
Another great information filled roof review and a nice walkthrough. I guess it's a gasser ?
Diesel
James, You should buy that one. It fits you very well! 😊😈
Thanks! But I already have one
@@AZExpert Not like that.

That is a diesel pusher, so neither. It’s a Freightliner chassis.
its a freightliner diesel
Another good video thanks.

I envy your ability to walk the edge..
That's where I live....
Any idea where to find info on these class A's? Like line up info or brochure I can't find anything

Just wondering how many times you fell off one of those roofs.. I would trip over one of those TV antenna.. LOL
Zero times
Is this on all Damon class A's? We have a 2003 Challenger
Lol. the ending 😆 😆
Thanks for watching! :)

Take it back to the dealer
Do you recommend Damon? or stay away? Looking at a 2003 Ultrasport 3873 39’. First time diesel RV buyer.

"Warranty" lol
How do you feel about the early 2000s national tropicals with the gas engine? How well do the roofs hold up?
those are well build units, but I do not like their compartment doors and belt line hinges
@@AZExpert Thanks for the reply! Is it a reliability/water concern or just a PITA when using/broken?
Why isn't sheet aluminum used on roofs more? Cost?
and weight
Does the 2009 35L Itasca class A have a quality roof?
has the standard Winnebago roof that I have been replacing a lot of lately.
What's that Damon worth retail ya think?
I don't sell them but a quick google search will answer that for you
I see you only working on bus conversions and not camper trailers, so does that mean camper trailers are better than bus conversions?
I have a whole library of videos on campers
Hey need some help cleaning those rv’s? I gotcha if so!!
Most places have a crew, but it doesn't hurt to ask them!
@@AZExpert Awesome!! Will do! I completed a Exterior Detail on a 34 footer today. Picks on my Instagram. But video come to my TH-cam channel soon!
