Daniel, I have a 3 year old and another coming by Thursday. Feel the same way about talking to kids and it works. I get complements all the time on how articulate and polite my 3 year old is. Also, he loves your videos so much that he asks for the "whisky videos" when we are sitting around inside. When someone asks him what time it is he says "whisky time!", Which could never get me in trouble. The best yet though was when I was making Kool aid and he started giving me the tasting notes he was expecting. Pretty proud moment as a future Whisky Somm, just hope it never leads to me in jail. Very glad you guys are coming around to rye because you got me into it!
Random thought of the day. When are you guys going to release a Whiskey Vault phone app with your tasting notes, your rating, and the tribe rating? It would be helpful when I’m at the store instead of going, “what’s the thing they said about the stuff and hmmmm????” Maybe it could also recommend new whiskeys from what we’ve tried?
Rye is wonderful... at least the one's I have tried. I haven't tried any lower end, say less than $35.00 a bottle, so I like them all thus far. I will have to try to find Rossville to try! Hopefully, when you get to the Rye's I have donated, you like them.
Another entertaining addition to your repertoire. Really enjoy your projection of joie de vivre! I am living and working in the far northeast of Cambodia and have limited access to exceptional whisk(e)y. One that is here is (I suppose) Royal Salute which is horrifically expensive but comes in a pretty bottle. What say you?
Can we get an episode on the tribe channel of your setup for recording and editing? I really like to see those streams for other channels. No, I am not going to steal ideas, what? :D
My brother and I always bring a new bottle to try when we meet up. He likes bourbon but I’m hit or miss. Any recommendations? I don’t like jack Daniels, Jim Beam, or Elijah Craig. I like buffalo trace and four roses small batch. Any recommendations? I know I already asked this about a week ago but I didn’t get any answers. I’m hoping for some recommendations from people.
Top 20 whoah. I enjoy the videos fellas. I’ve learned a lot from both y’all. Was gonna send a bottle in but is there a way to see what bottle u have already. Posted anywhere? Knob Creek cast strength batch2 barreled in 2010 127proof. . I seen y’all done the 2009 119 proof. I really enjoy this and smooth for 127 proof.
Not up to date, sorry.... that list hasn't changed in a long time. There also used to be a list that showed what needed to be reviewed, but I have not been able to find it since the website was updated.
I don't think its an established "thing", but rather just a marketing situation just to help brands distinguish when they offer multiple types of whiskey. I have noticed/wondered the same thing before, but not all distilleries do it for sure. I just cracked open a bottle of Treaty Oak Red Handed Rye that has a black label.
@@wingracer1614 I will start by saying that, while adventurous, I am still fairly new to enjoying whiskey so take my feedback with a grain of salt. My previous experience has largely been with MGP offerings (Bulleit, Redemption, Sagamore) which i found to be enjoyable, and not too overpowering. To me, the Red Handed has some of the same sweet (?) qualities as the others, but in a way more back-seat to the spice kind of way. Its got a pretty distinct, peppery (?) quality to it that you can almost pick up "on the nose", but DEFINITELY get it throughout when tasting. I am really starting to like it now that I have gotten over the complexity (?) that I wasn't initially prepared for.
Im tired of the same old hundred year story of how someone found the secret scrolls to create the most refined and magical bourbon. Ill throw my money at the people who make the whiskey of the future
Lost Spirits is using futuristic space alien technology to rapid-age whisky and recreate hundred year old bottles of rum. Best of both worlds. And they have a whole freaking theme park built into their tasting room on Skid Row in Los Angeles.
Greg Vangsness here. Rex Williams! What a blatant attempt to cover up your faux pas of the other day!! (pronounced Fox Paw if you're you) No one believes you had 'another' accident with 'water'! Just admit you have a certain lack of control going on!!! Cheers you poor MB.
Sorry but you're wrong. The Bourbon is from Four Roses (at least that's what a post I saw says but I found labels saying Indiana as well) but the Rye specifically says Lawrenceburg, IN which is MGP
@@wingracer1614 you are partially correct, they opened their own distillery a few years ago. They had their juice made at the Kirin Brewing Co, the same place 4R got their juice up until their distillery was built. Some of the bourbon has been sourced from other distilleries such as Stitzel-Weller, Ridgemont, and a few other distilleries locally until 2017 when Diageo spent $120m to open the Bulleit distillery. Some MGP has been used for the rye over the years, but still a predominate blend of multiple distilleries to claim their own profile. Their distillery tour is great, granted their bourbon is subpar compared to other offerings in the same price range.
Hey guys it was me who sent the bottle. Not Ben Staw. My hand writing sucks
That makes sense! Sorry bud!
@@WhiskeyVault Its cool. Also their is a wild turkey 101 rye thats mine. I know my hand writing sucks. Don't make Alex/ Dan redo the graphics
ben stahl you can send me rye anytime. I don’t have a TH-cam channel but I promise you I will put it to good use.
@@Ben_Stahl The Spirit Monk[e]y would never mispronounced your name, Bill Strawl you bagnificent mastard.
These are the highlights of my work days
Same. I always watch their vids during my lunch break.

I'd be game. Currently use Distiller to save my notes and wishlist. It is a pretty good one and does have some recommendation features.
The Spirit Monk[e]y much agrees with this idea.
I got this as a gift, house whiskey, because they knew I loved Ryes. I went back to the store to get another bottle.
Great description guys
I like how a wet shirt is becoming Rex's gag for the summer episodes. It's pretty funny.
Authentic Rex slobber on each and every one of 'em, too.
We heard one story about the slobbery wet shirt... None for this one! Inquiring MBs want to know!!! lol
It really is Classic Rex😂🤣😭
"Come back to me when you're an interesting person to talk to."
I'm totally using that.

I picked up a bottle of this about a year ago. Quickly became a kitchen ingredient. Great add to turkey taco meat in the wok.
Not beer sweats.....maybe whiskey sweats? Lol

Iv'e gotta tell ya. The magnificent bastard is so played......sooo played!
Cool shirt Rex!
Saying "I'm very wet" as an explanation for any kind of situation is something that could only possibly exist on this channel and nowhere else.
Clay Pit's Khuroos-E-Tursh is so flippin good!
Would love for you to try Macleod's. Super smokey and wooden flavor. On the mild side and very tasty
MGP makes some great Rye. Whistlepig Old World Reserve is MGP (instead of Alberta like the regular WP).
Is it still $80+?

How have you guys not done Ardbeg Wee Beastie yet?
Ah yes, Rossville, the whiskey the gray aliens *don't* want you to know about...
Speaking of rye... Far North distillery in Minnesota has a whiskey called Røknar Rye that’s finished in Cognac Casks and it’s fantastic
I've wanted to find there stuff but stores in Wisconsin don't carry it. That or very few do
I just picked this bottle up for $20!
What are the odds that the MGP guys squirrel away a barrel or two once the find one they really like for this release?
So was this their "Sweet" or "Savory" version? my store has two varieties of this bottle.

I have asked the same question many times... I bet they are overwhelmed with donations they cannot keep up... I have not received any official answer.
There is a list (not sure if it is updated) of what is in the vault at whiskymarketing.org. Navigate to the Whisky Vault page.

Did Rex swim to work this morning?
Cannot find this bottle anywhere online here in the uk
They have a barrel pick program for this, where the selection consists of sweet, spicy or savory...this will probably be labeled BiB in the future...
Daniel, does MGP use column, pot stills, or both?
👏👏👏 Nice review 🥃
as for us scots its 4.05.pm in the day boys long live the whisky
Hey Rex and Daniel: Any plans on a 300k sub episode?
I think MGP released there own brands overseas in foreign markets.
Daniel never told us how much the bottle cost.
Daniel, your dad sound like Sean Connery in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. 😂
Good morning Gentlemen.
Anise?
Price for rossville rye 37.95. Total wine and more
I give a second thumbs up to the Magnificent Bastard who went dry with his wife during her pregnancy. Well done you! Cheers to the new addition.🥃

Go Search, done many times
Do the Trailer Park boys whiskey
In the words of Dr. Jones (sr), you left just as you were getting interesting.
It's heeeeere!
Rex you uncouth American we here in Australia have always called biscuits what you call cookies and by the its biscuits not cookies
Pregnant wife, suddenly you have a not so happy designated driver. Got to take advantage of it 😅
37.49 at total wine

Not first!

Is wet shirt some boomer Texas trend?

Nope
First to comment though.
Rex is such a mess, always wearing wet or stained clothing. 300k subs get to witness this daily including Daniel's dad.
Lol, he was a bit more classy in the begening .
