F the roll bar get away larger breaks stistem, if you can't leave it😊. Also get a bigger frame so the wheels Don't wobble. Then perfect. I'll run that all day or between times, fun!!🎉
Instead of criticizing this young man, why not suggest something that may help him, he has a real interest in working with his hands which in these days is rare, God bless all !!!! ♥️✌️
That's what I was getting at and if one wheel hit a bump its over. Your going to have to beef the hole thing up. Get car hubs and steering box. I figured it rip out your hand or bend

Also motorcycle brakes will work alot better setup. Id personally go with a motorcycle parts bike and use it to make the needed upgrades. . like i said in previous post. Motor/ stearing upgrades/ brakes off the bike / clutch/ shifter/ key! Start/kill + those backup switches. And a handle bar setup off the bike or f1 style wheel would be awesome.
Agreed! It doesn’t need wheels/tires that big! Drag racer use thinner wheels in front(for rear wheel drive)! When I 1st saw his vehicle, I was saying same thing! Gotta have power if u r going wit big wheels! It’s the story of those big huge trucks! Bigfoot, Gravedigger, etc! They have over 1000-2000 plus horsepower! Lol Dude’s gotta come with it!😅😂😅😂
Those wheels and tires are a massive amount of unsprung weight, a critical factor in an ultralight vehicle with a small engine. I’d go in the opposite direction, using wide CF bike wheels. MUCH smoother, easier to stop and start, and much easier on parts and engine. That motor is gonna burn out fast trying to move 200-300lbs of wheel/tire, not to mention the stress on every component attached, as you quickly discovered! Throw some 26” 3-spoke CF wheels on that badboy and you’ll be FLYING - the launch, top speed, handling, and stopping will be night and day. Dropping 30-50% of wheel and tire weight on a 4 cylinder compact makes a huge felt difference in acceleration from stop, handling, braking… Dropping 90% of wheel/tire weight on a kart is transformative, absolute game changer.
Keep everything aluminum- frame ,except the steering -use tubular 1" , 1/8 thick wall, .. steel .. And, if you use hubs ,from a' u- pull it' ...Toyota ' hubs...you can take it off road.😊...love your idea, and admire the fact you put idea to function...You're awesome👌
For your next build imagine attaching the wheel (w/ tire) on the end of a stick with 5ft stick-out and swinging that shit around without it flexing. Those are the forces you need to counter with your mounting points and frame, plus how much steel your first frame lacked. Also the same concept is usable for a “smoother ride” just reduce the unsprung weight (smaller wheels and tires)
Get yours figured out, you can come help me with my raised golf cart. Mine runs fine, but doesn’t stop worth a hill of beans. Steering a little funky too? For having large wheels it steers like it’s got super power steering! Gets a little squirrelly especially at higher speeds. I didn’t build it, I bought it like it is.
I plan to build something similar, going back to school at 51, to get my welding certificate. My project is gonna be to build a tube frame and chassis, but a little turbo 4 cylinder or V6, think sand rail for the street, low to the ground mid engine, with some kind of body either sheet metal or fiberglass.
Awesome buddy much respect good luck & all the best with rebuilding & you will sort everything out the more u drive it coz driving it is the only way u can feel & find out what changes u need to make... Im speaking from experience I built a few 4 wheel machines so I kno & I do my own conversions on my cars aswell my job is to fix cars but doing builds of my own be it a car or 4 wheeler is my passion/hobby good luck wish u all the best take care buddy
Gonna have to weld those tie rods solid if you plan on keeping those tires on. Running a larger final sprocket wouldn’t hurt either since those tires are so tall.
When rebuilding the frame (I don't know shit, just have a buddy whos been fuckin with a go-kart as a hobby) I suggest going for solid steel rods for the tie rods and axels
Youre a smart kid. get somebody to do an overall safety check on your team. Also, I would test it going up hill first just so you dont have to push it back up hill.
When I saw the project car before I even watch the rest of the video I knew you will snape a tire rod or something Those wheels and rims are so big and so heavy for how skinny rods but it looks freaking awesome 😂 👍 just have a heavier tie rods and axles Try to use a small car parts from like a Prius or a mini Cooper or something from that sort use their chassis parts Or go to a wrecking yard you find some cheap parts that you can modify to fit your project jumbo go kart good luck awesome looking toy

New stearing setup reinforced front spindles with crown nuts and pins to make sure theres no backing out for safety. Ive made some BADASs carts some yrs back. But your best option is smaller wheels billet rims solid hubs .. Something like some 8/10in x6/8 wides. In the back and 8/10 x 4/6 in front. And make it sit LOW .. Also those motors are ok for basic use. But if you're looking for F1 style. Ya need to go with a motorcycle motor. Like 600/1000cc. And you're going have a key start. . theres alot of benefit from the upgrade to a motorcycle motor and shifter setup .. Besides the sound will be alot cooler !!!

Lack of power is the bigger issue here
@@danielholland3991 I wouldn’t say that’s the issue here, it’s more then enough for a go kart, the wheels are too big and the axis is probably dying

You should slam it and put smaller wheels on it and that thing would be sick!
every go kart ever
Ye slam it dawg so sick heha

it is not the engine its the wheels
