Carmine! I got quit watching your videos because I end up buying these great cameras. While the video was playing I bought one of these FZ30s off ebay after just buying a V-Lux-1 from an earlier video. While everyone else is fixated on getting the latest gear I've been going through a retro phase and discovering just how great and still useful these older gems are.
I’ve still got the FZ-200 - another great version and a fixed f2.8 lens throughout. I have modern Sony & Olympus cameras but will always keep the Lumix!
Mr. Taverna, I am happy I found your channel on the youtube. I am from Siberia and am fond of your videos. I've been following your recomendations. I've already got a flash diffusor. It really helps. As well I bought a couple of the D50 at $25 and $50 here in Russia. I'm happy with them. I wish I had all the items you observe so perfectly. Thank you very much and good luck!

Another informative video, thank you. I use the FZ5 (also 2005 vintage), having a CCD sensor with lower resolution (5 MP vs. 8 PM) but with the same Leica lense, and which I still value and use. I do see some chromatic aberration (bluish fringing) and barrel distortion, and images are noisy at 400 ISO (controlled with post-processing Topaz Studio 2 software) but the CCD colours are vibrant, as you note in your review.
Carmine, thank you for introducing me to this great camera. I own a few Lumix models from this era but this FZ30 appears way ahead of those interchangable lens rangefinders.
