Thank you so much for this video. My older passed away last month and as I was going through his archives, collection, and cleaning up his home, I came across this exact same camera. I was able to get it cleaned up and get the photos from the memory card. He had some amazing shots from some of his trips traveling. Despite the circumstances, I’m excited to continue to work with it in the future to continue his legacy. I really appreciate the history lesson and glad I’ve came across your channel!
First let me say you have my deepest sympathy for your loss. I am excited to hear you will continue to enjoy the Leica v lux 1 camera. Thanks so much for watching my videos.
Enjoy your videos very much Carmine. I'm 58 and I have been shooting since I was 8 years old when I "borrowed" my Fathers old Olympus Pen film camera for a field trip. Basically learned to shoot film on a Pentax ME Super and was a somewhat -early adopter of digital, beginning with some of the Fuji bridge cameras. You remind me why we should always have fun with what we do. Thanks!
Appreciate your videos as always. Thank you for making these. I have been playing with some ccd cameras I picked up on eBay per your recommendation and what fun it’s been and such a blast from the past. 🎉🎉
Thanks Carmine for reminding me that it is the photographer not the camera. However the Leica photos look great even thought it is quite an old camera for digitally. I am afraid that I have to stop watching your channel though because you make me to want to but too many cameras, but I know I will be back.
Great Job! I have purchased several products based on your opinion. I trust your experience and you. Keep up the fine work. You are onr of the best presenters on the platform.
I watched your lesson carmine which was so helpful and in plain language. So I went on eBay and bought this model for £140 from a local dealer in Southampton; it will be delivered on May 1 so I’m excited to try this out when I will comment further. Best wishes Ron
great video, I bought the V-Lux1 used in 2023 and was so excited (image quality, optics) about this camera, which was released in 2006. I will switch to the V-Lux 114 (also from the used market) Kind regards from Vienna
Great review, cool camera, just found your channel and I’m an instant fan. I’m a freelance wedding photographer, 8 years running (85% 2nd shooting) using Canon everything. Caught the “red dot” bug, got a Digilux 3 and PanaLeica 25mm Summilux 1.4 (50mm equiv) and my mind has been blown by the output. Plan on incorporating it on my wedding shoots for candids, displays, food displays and maybe some select portraits. As a pro yourself, what’s your opinion on bringing in a third camera. Haven’t mentioned it yet to my studio, but might do so soon because IMO, the Leica images look so different from my Canons….which are amazing as well, but the Leica “glow” is next level!
I'm supposed to say " my favorite camera is the one I have with me" but, every time I go to a job, I look in my hands and well what do you know it's the Nikon D3 and Nikon D700.. . 👍
Can you do a video on how to organize photos? I have hundreds of photos stored by date. I can never find anything. Is there software (hopefully freeware...)that can organize photos? Thanks Carmine. BTW - I have now watched about 50 of your videos. I really enjoy them!
Wow...thank you for watching my channel. I spent 8 months renaming my top 21,000 photos by name. For example, "Nikon d3 snow deer" because it was a sure-fire way for me to retrieve the image I want. :)
Hi Carmine, Great Video, picked one up at your suggestion. What is the the largest size SD card you can use with this camera since the manual is dated to 2006. Is there a LCD protector for the 2 inch screen available? Thanks in advance Carmine, Ted.
If you want to download the pictures to your desktop, do you have to install a program or just connect the usb cable and its ready to download? I have Windows 11 on my desktop.
The photos are stored on an SD memory card inserted in the camera. When you want to see the photos on your pc, you take the SD card out of the camera and put it in your pc SD card slot reader.
Checked the specs @ DP-Review and definitely a highly usable camera for someone who wants an easy shooting step way up from the typical phone camera, and the focal length of the lens and the decent glass make it an easy buy. 👍👍 Today, you would have to spend quite a bit more money to get something as capable.
@@CarmineTavernaPhotography Much appreciated. More than anything else, I'm considering the V-LUX 2 as a way of getting a substantial zoom capability at low cost. Have a Canon G9 which has some good features but limited zoom. And my phone only has 5x zoom. Yet time and again, I want more - whether ships, birds, things up trees or whatever else. It will be the only Leica I'll ever afford. And I appreciated your video anyway!
Love this, really appreciate your Chanel Carmine. Beautiful Photos....Wow!
You are so welcome

I enjoy stories such as yours, when we first held a camera, and the art of photography journey began :)
Thanks!
Thank you very much..peace
Great shots, great camera!
@joehackney1376 thank you for watching my channel
thank you for all the information and cameras.you give us a good idea..that cheap and old cameras can always do a good job with photos
You bet!
It’s good to see a professional photographer who doesn’t sneer at bridge cameras. Unfortunately a lot of photographers do.
Same here! There were times that a bridge camera served better than a body with a bunch of lenses.
Greetings from Turkey. Thank you so much for the great information.
Just came across this video. I love your easy, relaxed style of presenting. You cover the essentials clearly and concisely. Thank you.
You are so welcome!
Excellent! I've always liked the Digilux2. It looks like a film camera
Thank you so much for watching my videos

@CLAIRE22011 thank you 👍
Great video, love discovering vintage cameras with your videos. Keep the great work
Thank you so much :)
Excellent video and in depth info Carmine 😊
Thanks so much!
I’ve never heard of a pop-up flash diffuser. Thanks, I’ll check it out.
Those diffusers should be included with every new camera that has a pop up flash. Thanks for watching my videos.
Another great find, Carmine! Colors are fantastic, I will probably go broke buying all the cameras you recommend..😂
Oh no!
its ok..good way to end up 😊
Unbelievable shots Carmine I wish could get one here in sydney Australia.by the way I did like the Dog Model shot😊
Thank you very much!
Enjoy your classes.

Do you need to install a program on your pc to transfer the pictures?
@@NorceCodine no, just take the memory card from the camera and put it in the SD memory card reader for your pc.

Excellent video. The vlux 1 has a ccd sensor as I understand it. The vlux2 has a cmos, is that correct? What do you think of the vlux2?
@skiphupp6387 you are correct. I personally prefer the vlux 1. However please read...

The SD-card is full after 18 pictures, any idea why? I thought it would take hundreds of pictures.
