Richard can you make a video about your life as a fisherman, where you grew up fishing, who taught you how to fish, etc? A little bit of a background on you would be awesome! Everyone like this post and hopefully Richard sees it!
I never had a single good person in my life. Im an orphan. If I could of chosen, I would of picked you to have in my life. Your a great man brother! *(hugs)*
I like how you fish the conditions, but at the same time have a large memory bank of conditions and presentations. Your a seasoned angler without all the gimmicks.
Lipless crank baits is a great hard bait for anytime of the year. I personally get a lot of bites on the steady reel and the pause they'll hit it more times than not. Had a great time watching again but that solo singing part was my favorite. Lol gosh dern it keep em coming elmo. Enjoyed!
I just recently discovered you on TH-cam and thoroughly enjoy watching you and learning about Crappie fishing. I am new to this and getting excited about getting out soon. Being from South Georgia, you remind me a lot of my down-home family and the way I was brought up when I was young. My Dad loved crappie fishing on Santee but unfortunately we were not close as we were too much alike. Thanks for the videos and bringing back memories of home.
Great video as always sir .Want to tell ya my dad calls them yellow bass Good Eaters ..All his fishing buddies and me too always put em back . His buddies thought he was crazy so he fried a mess and they said they want never put em back they were so good .. Good Eaters is what wee all call em now lol ..Thank you for being you and good safe fishing to ya ..Oh did you know everyday you fish God adds a day to your life !!
Great video Richard Gene!! Last summer I took my blue healer pup for a walk to our pond in the woods.I had a small yellow and blue lipless on my rod.On the first cast I caught a decent largemouth.About the time I lipped him LB (the pup)jumped up on me and embedded the back hook in my hand (it wasn't good fer me).I cut my line and went home and had a friend cut the hook out of my hand....Lipless crankbaits....they really do catch almost everything.Have a great day Elmo!
Hooks hurt that sure ruined your day....last summer one night i caught a saltwater catfish tiny it flipped over while unhooking and it finned me with its barb into my thumb right down the tip then injected its barbs and venom I couldnt get it out fish flipped for 2 minutes agonizing pain finally I squeezed the fish so hard it let go my pain level shot through the roof for 18 hours only thing that helped was soaking in hot water to break down poison, you could have cut my arm off with a chainsaw and it would have given me relief. It made a believer out of me be weary of saltwater catfish fins.......great wsy to ruin a vacation to the beach
@@candibirchfield2249 sounds like you had it way worse than me.At least mine was a new clean hook and was easier to get out.My brother went thru something similar with a freshwater cat and a section of fin broke off in his hand, swelled up for several days...he almost stopped fishing...almost,have a great day!
People usually get finned by the small baby catfish because thier three fins , top dorsal fin and two side flipper fins, are closer together verses a large fish the fins are further apart, now I take two pair of pliers one to grab the top of mouth then the next to extract the hook, what was strange after I got stung I dropped the fish and it flipped on the deck for a few minutes while I was in excrutitaing pain I mustered enough strength to unhook him and kicked his ass back in the water, I guess I wanted to apeies the fish GOD that was punishing me that night, well it didnt work. The next night I casted out and saw a giant ball of these catfish and I just called it a night and went to bed early, I couldnt make a fist for 3 weeks,......
Way groovy that one was playing possum as always a great clip im gonna throw a minnow at a crappie in the morning weather is to nice just gotta CAUSE ITS GOOOOD FUUUR YAAAA...
Bought a couple 1/8oz rat-l’s today as a result of watching this video the other night. They owe you for the indirect marketing effect these videos have.
You should come a little farther south to fish some reservoirs on the hooch like Eufala or George W. Andrews(the hybrids are about to start running bellow the damn and that is some of the best fishing in the state)
Mr. Gene I live in south Alabama & do a lot of fishing on the Alabama river for big catfish. I trot line fish mostly. Do you have any advice for a grungy ol catfisherman. Love your videos. Keep it up & God Bless. I'm gonna go fishing cause its good for me!!!
I have honestly never tried a lipless crankbaits .but I have watched Richard Gene catch a lot of fish with them so I bought me a few and I'm damn sure going to try them
Try a beetle spin on 4lb line and put a chartruce curly tail or a chartreuse metal flake sassy shad on it. I have caught everything on that combo, loads of crappies with those, but it will also catch northern pike, white bass, largemouth bass, and smallmouth bass too. Have fun and tightlines.
This will blow your mind, I live in West Virginia, I caught a yellow bass on 4 lb line and this fish was HUGE! It was over three, iTunes it loose, we don't even have a yellow bass record. Plus the world record was a little over two.
Yellow stripe (as we call em) where I fish on lake Jordan Alabama, are my favorite to eat. They have a sweetness and they don’t have a bloodline like their cousins white lakers, hybrids and saltwater stripe do.
Love your videos Richard thanks for taking the time to help us. I noticed in one of your videos on jig and bobber that you tied a trilene knot on the jig. most of the time you tie a loop knot. was there a specific reason for this. Thanks again.

Agreed. 197,000 just 1 year after your comment. Still deserves it!
I love hearing your comments while fishing like watching the bow in your line to straighten to determine a strike.
You make some highly addictive videos, keep’em coming. Nice big bass!

David Alley Amen
I agree with Don he must be referring to Nancy ... But I will be trying out this bait for sure.... Thanks Richard for another GREAT Video
I really enjoy lipless crankbaits. If I'm in the mood to catch fish and not nothing in particular just catch'em to catch'em I love that bait
Best little crank baits I've ever used. I've caught everything from perch to strippers. Personal best with this type of bait was a 30lb flat head.
That's why I watch this channel, he uses baits I have in my own tackleBox
I love how when he makes mistakes he takes the hit I love it
Awesome brother love watching your videos Mr.Richard thank you so much for your tips and techniques

Hey Richard. I love your videos. I was inspired to get a eagle claw rod. You're right, the softer rod keeps the fish on. Good find. Thanks.
Great video Elmo. Keep Elmo calmed down now buddy. He gets excited.
Landed 3 perch and a big bluegill on a lipless today. Great video.
