It does work now.
I had to change the interface name in /etc/dhcpcd.conf from eth0 to enxb...... Very good!
It doesn't work well.
Static IP does not work.
Normally I have a static IP /etc/dhcpcd.conf
After turning on the read-only system, I get the IP via DHCP
To Le-Ze, to RickMakes, or any others. Could you please answer to this post if you ever find the solution to this problem? I also need a static IP /etc/dhcpcd.conf, and it is Not working with Overlay FS. Many Thanks!

IP connection to the WiFi network is running but entered in the VNC viewer there is a notification "time out waiting for a response form the computer"

It should work with a static IP configuration.

I haven't tried with Kali Linux. Does it have raspi-config? It might have some other technique for setting up a read only system.

I've never had that problem. What is it showing on the screen? Did you make any heavy modifications to the system or is it mostly stock?
@@Rickmakes nothing shows up, I only turned the overlay FS on and the enable read and write. Fortunately I had an image and restored it.
