One thing I really love about Jedi Survivor is how every stance is close to one of the seven core lightsaber forms. The blaster stance is very much like Makashi, with precise stabs and calculated swipes, the dual-wielding stance is kind of Juyo-like, fast, powerful, and aggressive strikes that don't give the enemy a chance to fight back, and the crossguard stance is a lot like Djem So, heavy power attacks designed to break an enemy's guard to open them to follow-up attack. As a massive Star Wars nerd, seeing that sort of attention to detail in a Star Wars game is really nice, and it really lets those players who know about the saber forms know that the devs actually cared enough to do research.
@@rishavbanerjee1371 Ataru has a much greater focus on acrobatics. Yoda used Ataru, as did Aayla Secura. The game's dual-wielding stance is much more Juyo, with the emphasis on rapid attacks to overwhelm an enemy. We don't really see Juyo in the live action movies, just Windu's Vaapad variant (and fine, a bit of Maul in Phantom Menace, but his is imprefect), but even Windu's Vaapad is closer to the dual wielding combat stance in Survivor.
@@rishavbanerjee1371 Right, and that's WHY it's probably Juyo. Of course Cal isn't going to be as skilled with it as other, more commonly taught forms. He was a padawan when Order 66 went down, he probably heard about it from Jedi holocrons, maybe saw Windu use Vapaad once or twice. He's not trained in it, he's imitating it, so he doesn't have that same kind of degree of controlled chaos that we see with masters of it. Starkiller, for example, specialized in a mix of Djem So and Juyo, and because he had much more training in it, his combat style felt much more Juyo-ish. His Makashi in the blaster stance isn't nearly as good as someone that had really studied it, because the Jedi discouraged it up until the Sith revealed themselves again. The whole reason Yoda was skeptical of Jedi Dooku specializing in Makashi was because at the time, the only lightsaber wielding individuals in the galaxy were Jedi, and picking a form that is specifically tailored to fighting saber users was a little suspicious. Cal is not an expert in any of these forms, so his performance with them is going to naturally be amateurish at best. Given his age when Order 66 went out, he's probably best in Shii-Cho, as that's the foundation for most of the other forms. Everything else is just observation and imitation, not actual learning.
@SerathDarklands cal also uses the force to defend himself in dual stance. That actually goes directly against juyo which is weak against force attacks and also encourages full focus on offense.
Just finished my first playthrough with the dual sabers and the blaster and I didn't know about the follow up move that exists after throwing the lightsaber once lmao

@@SerathDarklands dual wielding seems like ataru tbh

Oh thank you for another one, please post more. I watch this during downtime at work lol. You're really good at the game
I am impressed, these are Sith Lord moves for sure....
It's so unsatisfying when the lightsaber goes straight through an enemy and they just fly away like it's a baseball bat
Respawn really was color blind. The red saber looks way too orange
