    I used my 1/2" cordess drill. Opened the chuck all the way and they slipped right in up to the stops. The oring gave just enough tension so they didn't slip. No wobble at all. Worked great. Thanks for the tip Matt.

    Hey Matt , ''twas myself who sent you the video of this method. Glad it works well for you, Iam a welder by trade and all about workin smart not hard.... I did a couple by hand and thought, eff that! I actually use a lathe chuck for rolling pressure pipe and so I clean the ends of the pipe with essentially the same method. Happy decapping!

      Not sure if I should take this serious or not but if your shop relies on decapping a few injectors , I think you had better re visit your business plan. Hence the reason people are taking it upon themselves to DIY.

    @8:26 For taking the caps off, I use a worn out set of side cutters and just lift them off in a single motion. Instead of closing them like your'e cutting with them, just have them half-cocked open the top blade of the side cutter over the top of the cap to pin it down while the bottom side of the cutter lifts it over that ridge that keeps the caps in place. I can do a video too if it would help over my explanation. When I asked Eric about it, he replaces those and chucks them in the trash, so don't worry about saving the old caps and re-installing them.

    Try some hose grip pliers for removing the plastic caps. They look like needle nose but the ends of them make a circle for gripping hoses to pull them off of nipples and such. HFT sells a set of three for pretty cheap.

Hell I think I would have rather had heard the screaming grinder !!!I’m one of those people that have really appreciated your efforts of not blowing a radio in the background. (even though you really would rather have it on to keep you sane as you said ha ha)Another thing that I have liked and appreciated is that you let the video run and not time lapse it:-))). But PLEASE PLEASE don’t”” fall for “”thinking you need to add that damn annoying music in the background as you’re describing what you’re doing. Please! I feel like if Whoever is watching your videos and is board or can’t keep up their excitement level in what you’re performing alone and who” needs that “stupid LOUD music needs to go watch someone else’s Channel-are you rock keep up the awesome work.

    I have a question Matt. If I decap a set of stock truck injectors are they all going to flow the same or do I need to flow test each one. I was told decaped injectors don't always flow the same, but I don't know if that's true or not... Thanks

    • @SloppyMechanics
      @SloppyMechanics  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      they "should" be all the same, but mileage, dirt, and the decapping process if done incorrectly can make them not even. the percentages are also off a little big injector to injector, this is why people usually decap 16 and send in the whole set and have someone match

      I have one of the cordless Milwaukee grinders. They are awesome for cutting thin sheet metal or very small amounts of grinding. If you try to put any kind of force into grinding it will automatically stop and make some clicking noise. I think it's a safety thing for the lithium ion battery or something maybe.

    • @blindabinda1234
      @blindabinda1234 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Edward Grindstaff yes. Don't get me wrong it's an awesome tool. But if your grinding welds or something like that it's not really made for that. You can't use a cup style wire wheel either cuz it will self stop it self and make this like clicking noise.

    • @blindabinda1234
      @blindabinda1234 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Edward Grindstaff but generally when I'm using a grinder I'm welding or working on dump trucks and heavy steel so something a lot more powerful is needed.
