Doesn’t confirm if any stone is a natural diamond. It can confirm a stone is not a diamond but not the other way around. There are lots of synthetics that will read just fine on that.
I think that using a candle especially a low grade one causes the item to be coated therefore holding it together so to speak as the paraffin is burnt from the candle and becomes airborne. The second attempt showed black bits come off at the bottom of the glass. So a torch would have been better to get that thing to explode when it hit the water.
@@wildrose2748 Shut your stupid ass up bitch. I bet you haven't even seen a man made diamond. Diamonds are nothing but carbon. They can definitely be recreated in the lab. I bet you believe the Earth is flat.

Only 1:17 in, but the first thing you learn about diamonds and that test is quartz scratches glass. I had a friend when I was a kid that did that test...on a sliding glass back door.
lol heating up an diamond and putting it in water not a good idea for several reasons. First a diamond is made from carbon and you can actually burn the surface. When I work on diamond settings I always coat them first to prevent that. A diamond might have internal stresses and flaws on which I might crack when suddenly cooled in water. It might go fine 99.9% of the time but there comes a day when it goes wrong. A colleague of mine ( not to highly regarded) always used this method and i repeatedly warned him you are going to see your arse one day. And surely that day arrived and nearly bankrupted him. And never ever hit a diamond with an hammer A diamond although being extremely hard can totally shatter if you hit it at the wrong place. I see many chipped diamonds in my work where a diamond was accidently knocked just on the wrong spot.
Indeed! Diamonds have cleavage planes much like a piece of wood...heavily included diamonds are going to fracture much more easily and I’m sure your colleague had to pay for that stone.
@@kimholcomb6943 Sorry but that's incredibly incorrect. A "Herkimer diamond" is only a clear quartz crystal from the general area of Herkimer, NY. Quartz has a Moh's hardness of only 8 as compared to the diamond, which tops out the scale at 10.
Diamond has the highest "Thermal Conductivity" of Any substance. This means that when you put it into fire and then remove it, it will rapidly conduct the heat and disapate it from its mass. While metals like aluminum, copper and pure silver (highest thermal conductivity of all metals) will heat up relatively fast and cool down faster than other metals, the diamond will cool down to room temperature many times faster to a significantly noticeable degree. Another thing to take note of, diamonds have an atomic affinity for grease and oils. A small loose diamond can stick to the side of your nose because of the natural oils in your skin. They segregate diamond rough by vibrating it over an incline steel plate covered with thick grease, the non diamond materials fall away.
I should have watched this video before I put a lighter on this diamond trying to test it because it lit up red and now it's cloudy and it looks like it has a crack in it. And I think I ruined the diamond because up until that point it had literally passed every single test and it soon going to be sent off to a jewelry appraiser and now I think if it is real I've ruined it possibly by as you said destroying whatever work had been done to repair it. Or it's just not real. Regardless I really appreciate it seeing this video and like I said wish I had watched it first

Damnit I was so excited for you until you did the heat test. I found one exactly like this outside and it has passed every test except I have yet to do this flame test. I'd rather take it in and be told it's fake or some other less valuable material. Still a super cool gem to own
There’s a guy a few videos down that wants to tell us how to tell if it’s a real diamond. Y’all wait hear I’m gonna go tell him about the blowtorch and the hammer. BRB!
*You can heat a real diamond w/a propane-torch until glows red...and the instant you take it away from heat, it cools faster than you would believe possible, and do no harm at all to it...it likely won't even 'sizzle' the water* *There's one you missed...and it's good one! Get a pan of water, and some plastic 'Saran-Wrap' and place the plastic so it's 'flat' on the water's surface (The surface MUST be flat...don't breath on it) and GENTLY place the stone in the center of the plastic 'raft'...then use a magnet to slowly draw near the stone, almost touching...then slooooooowly pull the magnet away...a REAL Diamond will pull itself toward the magnet and follow it because there are molecules of Iron in real diamonds that 'man-made synthetic' diamonds do NOT have in them!* *This test will also work on Rubies/Emeralds/and Sapphires to see if they are real 'from the Earth' gemstones rather than synthetic-made Gems* *I've never heard of this test not working, regardless of the size of the gem...because mined -diamonds ALWAYS have molecules of the Element 'Iron' in them, as do the other gems* ( *Use a good magnet! Like the kind in a telescopic nut/bolt/screw 'picker-upper' or something stronger if you have it around...a 'horseshoe' magnet may not work because the magnetic-field is too 'open' and 'fridge-magnets' are very weak* )

Can they?
Wow, I never knew how much power resides within a simple Tostitos jar...
I got Diamond Selector 2.
Doesn’t confirm if any stone is a natural diamond. It can confirm a stone is not a diamond but not the other way around. There are lots of synthetics that will read just fine on that.
I love the smashing with the hammer.
You are great entertainment keep up the great work 👌
Thanks! And thanks for checking out the video!
This video is very educative, it has help me to differentiate between natural and fake diamond. Thanks for the information.
no, its not.

You do know that man made diamonds are also *real* diamonds?
@@wildrose2748 Shut your stupid ass up bitch. I bet you haven't even seen a man made diamond. Diamonds are nothing but carbon. They can definitely be recreated in the lab. I bet you believe the Earth is flat.
They are definitely not real diamonds. And fun fact: everything is made of carbon....everything.🧐
@@whatchoobeezbout Prove they aren't real diamonds you idiot. Btw diamonds are purely carbon and nothing else dumbass, unlike other things.
Diddy Doodat man you’re really embarrassing yourself right now and don’t even know it...now im sure that you could very easily further yourself in a douche-canoe up shit creek with the greatest of ease by continuing you’re rant, however I feel it’s my duty to stop you now and prevent any further self destruction... good day...😉
The funny thing in the video the man said that man made diamonds are hardness of 8 or something, no dear it’s 10 like they are real diamonds for god sake. It called grown diamonds not fake diamonds
What to do with wicker 2:39
Good catch haha
Lmao "That's why I really wanna do this video because I wanna see this thing explode"
Only 1:17 in, but the first thing you learn about diamonds and that test is quartz scratches glass. I had a friend when I was a kid that did that test...on a sliding glass back door.
Crystaline Dreams I’m there with you 🤣. Well, kinda. My parents never considered using their hands as an effective and reasonable punishment.
@@TheHookBoy yeah maybe that wasn't as funny as i wanted it to be - it's gone now.
lol heating up an diamond and putting it in water not a good idea for several reasons.
I carry an actual diamond tester and loop with me every time I go to an estate sale.
Great idea!
Watch the video about the three diamond testers they all tested Moissanite as real diamond.
Real diamond or not, it was a beautiful stone. It wasn't necessary to destroy it 😥
This was a really entertaining video. 😊
All diamonds are crystallized carbon. 10 on the moze scale, there isn't any Crystal that is harder than a diamond.
Hi Angela Ricks. My sister-is-law's name is Angela Ricks. Too funny. :)
Angela Ricks the herkemer crystal diamond is actually harder than a diamond.

I wish to sell a natural blue sapphire, may I get your help?
Best heat is NOT in the fire; it is slightly above it. Way more intense. Also, you can smash a real diamond with a hammer ....so? doink.
How can I test so small diamonds like 0.01 or 0.02 carat..
Not fake I have real clear quartz crystal gemstone 💎 it’s that not expensive 92.5 sterling silver ring
Where did you found that thing? Im gonna go there
This fake diamond of you buy is expensive if you sell no. Still destroying like this is wrong. Ebay would have been a good idea.
Thank you for this video. Very useful and I had to laugh the way you said you want to make it explode
Dude that was the best video ever! Now I'm gonna go set some diamonds on fire.. wish me luck.
Real diamonds also develop cracks when heated and dropped into cold water...
i was also told real diamond will not fog up if you breathe on it
Great tip!
False.
Thanks for the video and I appreciate your time.
They have inexpensive diamond tester tools you know
He'd rather fukup a nice looking rock that would've made a nice 💍.
Thanks for all the info Joseph!
Regardless I really appreciate it seeing this video and like I said wish I had watched it first
I could definitely convince some people that it's real and sell it as a real diamomd, in my town. 😂
Lol
Soloman 5k ..that's a good way to get hurt..sell it in a town where you don't know anyone..
@@richardhowe4140it's only the people that he knows in his town who are stupid enough to fall for it.

Hello I inherited very interesting old jewelry with stone I read that X-rays can be identified I took some photos with X-rays and the rays pass over the stone, we do not have an expert and I want to ask if it is diamonds I can send you a clear photo to see if possible to sell Thank you
any gem or Diamond can not test with Hammer 🔨
Damnit I was so excited for you until you did the heat test. I found one exactly like this outside and it has passed every test except I have yet to do this flame test. I'd rather take it in and be told it's fake or some other less valuable material. Still a super cool gem to own
There’s a guy a few videos down that wants to tell us how to tell if it’s a real diamond. Y’all wait hear I’m gonna go tell him about the blowtorch and the hammer. BRB!
Lol that's funny!!ha ha
That was such a cool video bro thank you for the best four minutes of my life in a long time lol lol😂.
Well shit Good to know i got real ice on 😂
*You can heat a real diamond w/a propane-torch until glows red...and the instant you take it away from heat, it cools faster than you would believe possible, and do no harm at all to it...it likely won't even 'sizzle' the water* *There's one you missed...and it's good one!
Sine bright like a diamond 💎
Good test👍
Thank you!
