YOU CAME TO MY TOWN!!! SQUEEEE!!! Thank you for coming to Leavenworth! All commercial buildings in Leavenworth must decorate the outside of their buildings in the "Bavarian" style. It is town code. Both pears and apples are grown in our area. There are cideries that make cider from the pears and apples. Thank you for encouraging people to visit during the week and not the weekend.
we stayed in leavenworth for a month every summer when i was growing up, so sad Homefires Bakery shutdown. Loved their swiss cheese and dill bread. My friend Jim Jack was quite the character living in Leavenworth, a ski fanatic, passed in an avalanche, taken so young, RIP
Washington grows a lot of products! We are the top producers of Apples, Pears, Cherries, as well as Hops. We also grow a tremendous amount of grapes. Thus, we have a lot of local cideries, wineries and breweries! Central Washington is just covered in orchards of all kinds. It's quite wonderful, especially in the summer. Lots of u-pick places.
The fish hatchery has guided snowshoeing tours with free snowshoes. Fun, educational and free. With all the apples and pears they make incredible European style ciders. There are pubs that specialize in serving multiple brands. One had more than 20 to choose from. The quirkiest thing we found was a reindeer farm. Not for eating, just petting and learning about.
As a Washingtonian it was so fun to see you enjoying the fun town of Leavenworth! Also, there is so much natural beauty and fun things to do in the warmer months.
This looked like sooo much fun. Did anyone check on that kid @ 12:16 to see if he survived the ride? That was so funny in slo-mo (LOL). Hope he was okay. Thank you for sharing.
Good to know if I ever want German food in Georgia! Leavenworth is famous for being a Christmas town though. It wouldn’t be as “Christmasy” without all the snow. They have a huge Christmas festival every December and Christmas and Santa themed stores that are open year round. They also have the second largest Octoberfest in the world. Book your room way in advance if you ever decide to go. The restaurants have beer gardens and Oompa bands year round if you want to go in the off season to avoid the crowds but still get that experience, but I’m sure they have that in Georgia too.
dear Allison & Eric! I was so happy to hear you speak in German. what a start to the video, thank you! Wow so pretty there. Thank you for sharing! Kind regards from the Bavarian Alps. 💛🏔
Took me a second to realize, why our terms "Ausfahrt and Einfahrt" amuses you so much ;-) Nice one, never thougth about the different meanings/translations of our "Fahrts" 😀
Leavenworth was a wonderful choice. Something magical that only we have here. I really hope that you can come back in the summer and explore the Olympic Peninsula and the San Juan Islands. All magical nature and quaint little towns that you can't find anywhere else!
I used to live a couple towns over in Cle Elum used to go to Leavenworth all the time. Great little town love it camp there a lot had some great times.
it was built as a "bavarian" theme attraction in the 1960s. all the of the ppl consist of families in station wagons, minivans, and SUVs from seattle driving an hour for a movie set experience
Hello Allison and Eric. That looked great. The before pictures were like I remember the buildings in Butte, Montana, when I passed through in snow on a similar trip to yours, many years back. I used to do that sledging on snow down a hill at school, here in northern England, but on a plastic bag, as it had to fit in my school bag. We have not had so much recently, but snow is forecast. My girlfriend's relatives in Austria, in similar surroundings to yours, say they have had enough of the cold there this winter.
Yes, I don't live too far away so we stop by often. It may not have the same Bavarian style Alps like Leavenworth, but it was settled in the 1800s by real Bavarians!
You know when you were over in Leelanau County in Michigan., you passed orchards of apples, cherries, plums, grapes, peaches, strawberries, raspberries, beans, to name a few. There were grape vineyards all over as well, not to mention many wineries. That aerial view of a vineyard was very much like the ones along M72 and Leelanau County. There are wine tours! Also, they get snow just like that! A lot more snow!
Great town, and you picked the least busy season too. October(fest) through Christmas it's so packed you should park out of town and take a shuttle in. It's busy all summer too due to other outdoor attractions (lake wenatchee, hiking, wineries, camping) but not quite as packed.
Eric after the initial snowshoe skit I have determined who your spirit animal actually is. George McFly !!! Lol. All in fun. Great video guys that town looked amazing and that platter of meat looked even better. Safe Travels Amigos 👊
Leavenworth is awesome all year long. Snow and lights in the winter, apple trees blooming in the spring, pretty and hot and sometimes smoky summers and beautiful orange and gold fall
Good afternoon Allison and Eric can’t you went over the hill and landed in Germany bizarre but I love a good wurst and beer and a great tubing hill last time my husband pushed me in the tube he pushed me over a cliff oh well stay safe have fun 😘☕️🍺☃️☃️
Love Leavenworth, as Washington local my fav shops are Hat shop and Salt Water Taffy. The smell of fresh made waffle cones as you walk down the sidewalk is the best! Lots of cool shops to explore too.
Nice job on Leavenworth, it is a touristy place, but the views and mountains are incredible and it's worth of a visit.....Did you get a chance to tour the Applets & Cotlets factory in Cashmere WA?
My girlfriends and I are going in early January so this video is perfect! Thanks for the amazing fun video and looking forward to visiting Leavenworth!
Oh man! What a cute wee town! That plate of food looked to die for! Not so sure that I’d want to share!😂 Think Eric had a bit of a beer buzz on after his stein of beer!🤪 Great vid as always guys!👍❤️👏👏👏
I've been following you both for the last 2 hrs. I was born in Ellensburg 76 years ago, grew up in Cle Elum Seattle and Yakima Wash. Bought a Sprinter 2 months ago and planning a trip to Wn. in the spring. Live in Phoenix Arizona for 45 plus years, time to get out of the valley once it hits 110 degrees and venture north instead of Calif. Thank you for sharing your experiences and sharing Ellensburg with me. Spent several weeks in Germany a few years back and really had no idea about the German history, of Ellensburg. Very excited to return to Wash. and reminisce.Thank you for the video.
The first year my wife and I were married (40 years ago) we went to Leavenworth and did cross country skiing. We sweated up a storm while skiing the groomed trails on the golf course (always dress in layers). Many of the shops have changed names and owners over the years but it seems that the Wood Shop and Hat Shop will always be there.
We love visiting that little town, also they have a live Webcam in the center and we watch it every winter. it’s picture, postcard, perfect with the snow and all the wonderful Christmas lights.
I've been there as a kid and to the surrounding orchards, picking fruits and veggies with my family. Cute looking town. Although, now I live in the southeast, not as beautiful, lol.
I enjoyed this. I'm from Texas and when I experienced the mountains around leavenworth, I stood in awe. I had never seen anything like that. Thanks for the tease. ❤
Years ago I had a friend who was a professional artist. He lived in Tacoma Washington. During the summers he would go over to Leavenworth and cap outside of town. Then on the weekends he and other fine artists would come into town to sell their paintings, etc. If they are still doing that in the summer, you might want to check that out...not only the art but the people.
I've been to Leavenworth a handful of times. Such a nice little town. Had a few band performances in the Gazebo and a few family winter trips. Brings back a lot of great memories. ❤
Lots of folks who hike the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) pass through the town and speak highly of it. Would be a great stop while touring Washington. Great place for apples and pears. Another great day spent with you two.
I knew you were heading to Leavenworth when you hinted in your last video! We used to live in WA and I always loved visiting Leavenworth. I still have my Munchen Haus t-shirt. It’s beautiful in the summer too.
I grew up in Washington State. I love Leavenworth, it’s one of my favorite towns. Not sure if they still do tours, but the “Aplets & Cotlets” factory nearby was always one of my favorite stops. In the summertime “Ohme Gardens” is lovely to stroll through!
I live in the region and visit Leavenworth during the warmer months to ride the mountain bike trails on the north edge of town in the vicinity of Leavenworth Ski Hill. It's a beautiful town and very scenic area. I enjoy following your travels.
That's basically my backyard, I live just outside Wenatchee, it was cool to see you guys enjoying "my neighborhood " lol glad you loved it!❤
I live on the Long Beach Peninsula. I have enjoyed living in Edmonds, and Olympia.
Can’t think of Wenatchee without remembering the Wenatchee Youth Circus.
From Spokane myself and love visiting there too! I actually emailed Eric a couple years ago to convince them to come to this area.
Kara and Nate rode just past our place when they did their cross country bike trip not too long ago and I was so excited 😂
Hahaha I came here to say the same thing. So strange to see them in such a familiar place! 😂💜
YOU CAME TO MY TOWN!!! SQUEEEE!!!

So cute! Nice and close to Canada too
@@jj-if6it We have lots of Canadian visitors that visit all year long. We are a few hours south of Penticton.
I was envisioning Eric twisting his ankle again when he first tried to stand up in those snow shoes. 😂 Cute little town. 😊
Haha! I was so sure he was going to break everything on that hike 🙈
We love you two! Wherever you go you make it look fun. 😊

Pear cider is called Perry.
New videos are always a highlight of the week.
The history of the town and how the German style came to is fascinating. It’s beautiful during Christmas
As a Washingtonian it was so fun to see you enjoying the fun town of Leavenworth! Also, there is so much natural beauty and fun things to do in the warmer months.

Thank you for sharing.
We must have watched that clip back 10 times 🤣 (and we promise he was totally fine afterwards, haha!)
Helen, Georgia also has a cute, quaint German town feel & look plus it's a lot warmer. You two make me smile with all the fun you have ❤

@@craigcampbell1843 Helen, GA definitely celebrates October fest. All the German food is so good here, though I'd love to experience the real Germany
@@pippilongstocking-qs7fm Leavenworth is as close as you can get without a passport but it sounds like Helen might be a close second.
I was just there in Helen last Spring, nice little German town
That's good to know! I will say in the summertime, Leavenworth does get quite hot.
Eric's goofiness is very endearing
8:55 perfect impression of that Elmo with the fire meme :D
If you want another German village right here in the USA, you gotta go to Helen, Georgia…..a great little hamlet in the northeast Georgia mountains.
dear Allison & Eric! I was so happy to hear you speak in German. what a start to the video, thank you! Wow so pretty there. Thank you for sharing! Kind regards from the Bavarian Alps. 💛🏔
Danke! This definitely made us miss Germany a lot...hopefully we can come visit again soon 😍

Ya, it's always given us a good little chuckle 🤣
Alison in Wunderlaaand :), Also, btw she holds the ice late with a glove in the other hand than the one she holds the drink. Just numero uno

The buildings back then amaze me, all of the ppl that walked through or inhabited them over all this time. Thanks for another great video
it was built as a "bavarian" theme attraction in the 1960s. all the of the ppl consist of families in station wagons, minivans, and SUVs from seattle driving an hour for a movie set experience
Solvang, California is also a wonderful town with tons of restaurants themed as Danish.
We live in Southern California and so have gone many times! P.S. Sad about Andersons Pea Soup closing. 😢
@@jojoinrancho320 I have moved but I grew up in California and also went many times. Beautiful town.

Seriously my heavenly place on earth. So beautiful year round!!
I am so excited to go visit and this was a super informative video despite the heavy levels of Millennial cringe.
Snowy charm! Lenworth's Bavarian theme is captivating. Loved the winery adventure. Cheers to magical winter vibes!

So happy to have you adventuring with us for so long! And we love that we could give you a fun recommendation 🙌
I love Leavenworth in the winter time. It's so magical.

Never heard of that place! Incredible.
There’s also a charming Bavarian town in MI called Frankenmuth. Known for having the world’s largest Christmas store.

That was an interesting way to eat German food.
Leavenworth is a beautiful town. See you next time ⏲️ adventurers 😊❤.
I used to go every single year during college for Oktoberfest. One of my favorite places in the state.

This was fun to see! Leavenworth is close to my town!
