Great video Zack… Because of your help in the past I have successfully hatched many Quail from my farm innovator incubator… I currently have 80 quails wild/Egyptian‘s after sending 20 males to Freezer camp yesterday. I’m happy with the 80 birds I’m getting a lot of eggs just started selling some. Thanks again Kate
I just watched your humidity video and now this one. I can’t thank you enough for sharing your experience!! I have watched a lot of incubating videos and read a lot of blogs and joined quail pages on Facebook etc, but your videos answered all of my questions! I have had all of the issues that you have spoken about. Too high, too early, too low, too hot, too cold, Too late, curled toes, wry neck etc etc. but that’s because I have been trying to get everything right after things went wrong. I have a 22% hatch rate at the mo ☹️ My secondhand cheap incubator really is a disaster though LOL and I’m looking forward to getting a small decent one. For a few reasons I’ve decided on a Borotto and I’ll buy the govee now and compare with incubator and my other separate hydrometer. I hhappenedto catch a video from another quail TH-camr about cleaning the fans! The borotto is very easy to do but I would never have considered cleaning the fans until seeing that video. I live in a hot part of Australia and I know all too well when the fan blades need cleaning and how much of a difference it makes when they clean. Thanks again so much for your videos. Very much appreciated.
Thank you for the video. I learned a lot from it. Now, when I acquire a separate temperature measuring device, how do I link it to the system so that the incubator reads from it and makes informed decisions?
It's good to see this video: I have this question, I will be very happy if I get a competent answer, I bought Kebonicx incubator for 12 eggs, that I observed and checked with a medical thermometer and it turned out that one side had a lower temperature by 0.8 units, What can I do to fix it, the chicks were late and I got crippled on the 19th and 20th and some were not fully developed
Thx for this so many are not addressing these issues and the companies want to act like it's something im doing and not their machines! I got a 10% hatch rate a MD a 6 percent hatch rate on the incuview on quail and 100% hatchrate on chickens and that was after I added a thermapro and external heating pad under the machine and elevated the incubator 4 "'s above the pad on low. This kept my incubator at exactly 99.5! But that incuview turner sucks for quail! Chickens works great.
If you could also assist, my incubator's main fan is not turning on, causing the temperature in the incubator to be very high and the warning sound to keep going off. I have tested the fan with an external power source, and it is running fine. However, it seems the machine is not signaling the fan to turn on.
I got a styrofoam incubator I cannot get it past 99.3 it will not go no higher or no lower that's been 3 days from running like that so thank you for your time and thank you and your videos does help a whole lot thank you for that Mr Zack
Sir, can you explain about ventilation inside the incubator. How can we maintain temperature if there is ventilation. Im struggling for the placement of heater and fans. And when to turn on and off the fan. Is it necessary to run a fan continuously? The thing is after the heater turns off the temperature is still rising a bit.
@MyshireFarm thanks. I made an incubator using arduino, After so many trial and error I have managed to maintain a temperature between 37 and 38degc throughout.
Second time trying to hatch quail incubator temperature has fluctuated and dropped as low as 89 for I'm not sure wish me luck I'm insulated it and put more thermometers in it
Zack the second day of lockdown... Of course we left for 4 hours, we came back to a huge humidity problem. One corner of our farm innovator was full of humidity, to the point of rain. What might the problem be? Everything was perfect before we left. Fifteen eggs failed to hatch after that. I don't know what we could have done about the humidity.
What would you recommend when every single themometer reads different. (Ex. with 4 themometers... 98, 99, 100 & 102) Which one do you believe? In getting a decent hatch rate but I feel it could be better. They are all hatching around day 18 to 19. No deformities. All babies that hatch are thriving.
@@billc3405 In my case, I've tried swapping positions between meters and the values change, but don't match each other. In other words, meter A reads 99, meter B reads 100. I swap positions, meter A in the same spot as B might read 99.5, but meter B in the spot A was in reads 100.2. Which makes absolutely no sense.
@@jeff130 for sure then its the thermometers don't read the same. You may want to try to put them side by side in the same location then you would know for sure
Most likely it is an insulation issue which you could wrap a blanket around the incubator and that should fix it or the fan is not working properly would be the 2 most common areas to look at.
Hey zack, my incubator temp went down 1.5 degrees first 2 days of the incubation. I have it set on 99.5 now using a hydrometer. Will the temp going down first few days affect the hatch?
I had a hatch (chickens) that I forgot to take the auto turners out on day 18. I took them out on day 21. 2 pipped but did not get out, 1 hatched in day 25 and is healthy, 1 hatched on day 26 and is healthy. The rest died in egg. All were developed and alive on day 18. My incubator struggles to stay at the right temp, so I have a blanket around it. When I open to observe, trouble shoot or candle, the temp drops and takes an hour or do to recover. Any further advise. It’s a simple plastic 49 egg auto turn incubator
I have an incubator which has come with an alcohol thermometer which pokes through the top which says the temp is 105 Ferenheight, and i have 2 digital thermostats which say its 80 farenheight, which one should i trust because i have been told the alcohol thermostat is more reliable
@@MyshireFarm I see that it is not the fan but had a doubt about the Air circulation and temperature. The temperature is cutting off at 37.9 but the reading is going up until 38.3 and coming down. I think there is an issue with thermodynamics. Please suggest some solution.
Hey zack I’ve had 30 eggs in my grandads old still air for 13 days Around day 10 I think the incubator temp rod got bumped and over night the temp jumped to 106 Took me a full day to to get the temp re adjusted to 99.5 I haven’t candled yet was going to wait till day 15 How worried should I be about the high temp over night

Shalom everyone! The temp reading of my incubator is showing 37.8 C, but the outside of it is cold on touching (I mean the incubator's outer surface is feeling cold), is this normal please? Thanks in advance for your answer, God bless.

Im getting eggs from a guy that got them from you. Im not have good hatch rates at all. The incuview makes the eggs turn all different directions and get alll bunched tpgether. I had 6 hatch out of 44 eggs and i had to help several out. Then i hatched chicken eggs and got 100% hatchrate. The machine didnt keep accurate temperature. I got an external thermapro with two sensors that proved the machine temp was completely off. I ended up uzing a heating pad under the machine for the chicken eggs and got the 100% hatch rate. I didnt have it touching the machine i actually had the incubator sitting on coasters wlevated above the heating pad and it kept the incubator exactly at 99.5

Yes I've had a GQF 1502 incubator for many years. It works great 👍.

It is a circulation issue. You need to fix the fan or if it is still air add a fan to incubator
@@MyshireFarm I can't figure out how to fix the fan that came with this little incubator from the factory, and it's impossible to add a fan to it.
Best hatch I had my govee read a consistent 98.3-98.6. Been doing this 18 yrs. Jumbo whites are the most aggressive birds that I have ever raised
That’s odd the whites are our most docile

Most incubators have auto fans and have them connected to the heating element

It is hard to say why. If it was a table top is it possible that it was uneven and the water all went to one side?
Did any hatch? The hatching of chicks naturally causes a rise in humidity.
Interesting... Of course that would happen.
Gday zack just wondering which model of Govee I should get ? I have a burotto 49 model incubator.

106 if that is a true reading would have cooked the eggs unfortunately. So good luck hope it was not reading correctly.

What if it saying it’s to hot
