    Not showing the items to make the polish defeated the purpose of this video.. thought you said you make this video because it was hard to find one? Then you had us watching you mix pink pigment in a base 🤔😕

    everyone in the comments asking for the exact ingredients🤣why would an indie polish maker give away their recipe? As someone just starting out and doing my own actual research, this video is extremely cool.

    How is the base made? This is the information we cannot find 🤔
    I have mica, alcohol inks and pigments in liquid form for water based liquids and solvent based and more BUT the big secret seems to be the tutorial of making bases...
    UV bases for gel polish and regular bases for good old air dry traditional polish.... Please tell ☺️✌🏻

    Thank you for the video. I appreciate your willingness to share what you have learned. I would like to echo a question that I say about the mica being grainy. Does it help if it is wet first with alcohol?
    Also, do you use one suspension base or do you mix to create your own unique base?
    Thanks so much for your insight.

    • @shineindienailpolishchanne5745
      @shineindienailpolishchanne5745  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Rella Dymond Hi Della, good questions. When I first started I wondered the same thing. I don’t not mix with alcohol when I mix any pigments. Instead be sure and use an electric hand mixer to make sure they are mixed completely. Also, I only use a suspension for glitters and have occasionally mixed with a regular base if I’m not using much glitter in a particular polish. Hope this helps!!!

    This is very nice. :) Where do you get your ingredients? I got a glitter base from TKB Trading, but I'm looking for other choices. :) And where do you get those brushes? Thank you so much in advance!

      Disco Kittii I get a lot of micas from TKB, but there are a lot of other suppliers. Colorcraze2000, Just Pigments, Spectraflair, Glitter Unique, even Etsy is a good place to look when your starting out. Some I get from overseas, for larger quantities. The bottles and brushes are my little secret. 🤫 I hope that helps.

    This is SO helpful! Can I mix a polish in a luster base with a polish in a suspension base? Or, should I mix everything in a suspension base?

    • @shineindienailpolishchanne5745
      @shineindienailpolishchanne5745  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christine Sedrak Sure, I don’t think they would separate or anything. Sometimes I mix a little of both to hold up a small amount of glitter in a larger luster mix. 👍🏼

    I was wondering where you got your platinum concentrate :D Also I love videos like this and I'm so excited to see more from you. I'd love to see a tour of your polish making room maybe, if you'd be okay with sharing!

      ThatOneLovatic I get that Platinum from TKB and I use it in A LOT of my Polishes. It give a certain crisp look to them. Also I’d you like the hazy look, that is done with just a couple of drops of ivory in any color. Tip! Lol. I wouldn’t mind a walk through of my lab area, maybe I’ll put that in the vlog on materials needed tonight or in the morning. Thanks for the comments. 👍🏼

      Kenia Molina-Frohlich - I can’t get out my formulas, you understand. But I can steer you in the right direction for ingredients. TKB.com is going to be your best friend for a lot of items. Other places like Colorcraze2000, Spectraflair, Just Pigments and Etsy are good too; they just have smaller inventories. I hope this helps. 😉

    Thanks for posting - very cool! I've been trying to find suppliers for a while, and so far, it's just not happening. Glitter and pigment, no issue. Biodegradable "green" glitter, no problem. Suspension, and liquid colorants, nope. Liquid pigments aren't easy to come by. The only site I've found is usually out of stock and a little pricey. For suspension base, I can get up to 5-free in Canada, but TKB doesn't seem to want to sell their suspension bases or top coats across the border. The shipping is as much as the product! Testing a US address in the shipping section was completely different. Guess I need to work on my Google skillz to find a Chinese manufacturer who will sell in slightly smaller amounts, because I'm coming up empty!
