@Forhealthscholars Dr. Owie, you have no idea how this video couldn't be more timely. I hold a bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy and as I want to further my education, I was torn between MHA and MPH. Thank you so much Doc!
Your explanations makes a lot of sense. You are truly a great guidance counselor.
I am so passionate about public health but my degree background is in Educational Administration.
I also worked with a private security company as a guard where I developed interest in Occupational Safety.
I love the MPH degree with concentration in either Health Systems Management or Environmental and Occupational Health.
If you could help better orientate me, I would be so grateful.

I am between MHA or MPH with concentration of healthcare leadership and admin. Currently working on the clinical side with no clinical duties. Hi Prina.. Welcome to the For Health Scholars Channel! I believe as a MBA-HC you still can work in the area of policy as the MHA & the MBA-HC specialization courses are very similar. If really want to change I would suggest you check first that the courses you have completed thus far in your MBA-HC program is transferable. This will allow you to save time and money. Based on your interest for reducing health disparities, I recommend you go for the MPH degree. The MPH degree will allow you to conduct streamlined research in the field of population health. @forhealthscholars  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi, @lalaj2065 thanks for watching and welcome to the channel. Salaries can vary from state to state and from healthcare organization to organization. In this video, I was sharing that when I got my master's, I requested a salary increase from my employer, and they approved it as I was able to show how my MHA degree skills would be beneficial to the employer. For my doctorate, I was working as a professor, and the pay of a professor with a doctorate is significantly different than just teaching with a master's degree. I recommend you visit websites like Payscale.com or Salary.com to learn about salary ranges for healthcare job titles.
