It's the perfect application of understanding fundamentals and basics (like how anatomically correct the parts of the eyes are) and successfully stylize it! It's so good, as an artist staring at the details she makes is like those baby stimulant videos arrgghh
That's not necessarily a good thing, the current anime industry can't afford to push for more detail given the literal slave conditions most studios have. Just saying this to make you think twice about that push for detail being a good thing (it really isn't). The only way that'd be a good thing is when we don't have people dying or committing suicide due to the horrible working conditions in the industry.
@@duner2028 i seem to have misunderstood your comment, sorry. I hope we can agree that expecting studios to achieve that level of quality is unhealthy and dumb though, especially given the already hellish working conditions in the industry. I'm pretty sure you've heard the horror stories from former staffers (e.g the guy who directed Jujutsu kaisen 0, the beans he spilt on mappa were legit completely rotten). It's not even anime productions that struggle with this, I mean (for an example), how dare the production of invincible season 2 release it in an unconventional release structure to not overwork the animators/s (To be serious though, people did actually complain about that, some unironically saying that the animators demanding less stressful schedules and daring to exercise their rights was a bad thing). Sorry for my scatterbrained response, trying to get my point across about unachievable standards in the animation industry wasn't easy while I'm barely hanging onto consciousness (I'm sleepy as fuck rn😂) Also if you couldn't tell, I'm really passionate about workers rights (arguably everyone should be♥️).
@@icravedeath.1200 oh of course!! The bar for the quality of anime keeps getting higher and higher at the cost of the health and sanity of the animators It truly sucks to know that some of your favorite shows were made at the cost of others suffering Workers rights all the way!! Hello, the waterline is a strip of pink skin lining the top and bottom of the eyelids (and the pink skin continues underneath the eyelids); they protect the eye tissues and trap tears inside the eye! They also house the tear ducts, which help absorb excess tears. As for the comment that says no tutorial tells you, the waterline isn't covered much in general art studies (unless they are centered around the eye), but they are an important part of makeup and help enhance or pull together a look (some people put white or silver liner on them to make the makeup look more cohesive). Hope this helped! (Also the lacrimal glands (the inner pink part of the eye) produces tears, not tear ducts, just if you were wondering! These appear often in more detailed/realistic anime styles :D)

The inner pink part is actually called the lacrimal caruncle, it's not the lacrimal glands. The lacrimal glands cannot be seen from the outside. The tear ducts are the outlets of the lacrimal glands. The lacrimal caruncle has its own glands (ciliary glands) that create rheum and it also helps to keep your eyes clean from dirt.
IM new to Digital art(i use ibis paint lmao) and my way of analyzing Yone's art is that it has this beautiful use of shadows and light, the way that the eyes and lips gets coloured is so soft. BUT ON ANOTHER NOTE YOUR VTUBER AVATAR IS SO CUTE FIRST TIME SEEING A PIXELTUBER
also want to see Yoneyamas work moving? look up the MV for the song YOKU her work in motion is fantastic! its so inspiring and just beautiful! the song fits it well.
If the studio has the budget the animators would add realistic features. Those realistic features usually comes in the intro section of the anime and you would see them less then 5 seconds.
Another really cool style I reccomend looking at is the one in Black Clover. Make sure to look at the manga version since the anime ended up removing a lot of the detail
I would love to see more of Yoneyama Mai's art but I don't have the app she posts on :( your attempt was nice but I think your usual artstyle is cuter :]
Funny you mentioned JoJo cause in other examples in the manga and anime, characters are drawn with the visible tearducts, especially in some close up shots
The first thing i noticed when i look at her art is her eye. ITS SO HUMANLY YET SO STYLIZED?? it honestly brings so much life to the piece
thats a way to describe it 🙌🏼

Well the first thing I noticed was the complexity of the hair
you didnt tho
humanly yes so stylized?
Ive actually recently noticed more and more modern anime art styles drawing a stylized waterline !

@@icravedeath.1200 I haven't seen it in animation yet , if anything I've mostly noticed this trend in illustrations

I also draw the waterline! ❤😊
I'm still trying to see how to make it look good.
I love these analyses
WHERE ARE THE REPLIES ITS SO ALIVE IN HERE
The characters look so human, I love it
you covering a style study of Yoneyama Mai is such a pleasant surprise! She's one of my favorite artists!
I like the vtuber pixel concept
I didn't even knew we had a waterline-
i didn't even know what a waterline is
No tutorial told us that

I was vaguely aware of it (bc I wear contacts) but didn't know it had a name or anything 😅
Her animation on Eve's MV captivated me so much!

If you have your own style or draw rarely drawn things, you're unique in the world of artists.

"I (eye) was surprised" Nice pun placement
thank you, queen
I love doing style studies experimenting with art is just too much fun
I LOVE DRAWING TEAR DUCTS AND WATER LINES!!! IT’S SO FUN
I love how you cover art stuff, not only is your art amazing but also your voice is just so nice to listen to
This is looking so great

I love her art like the eyes and lighting😍😍 your art is so amazing too!
So pretty :>
i love drawing in the tear ducts and water lines
they look so cool and make eyes pop
I think Tite Kubo for teaching me these things
Yoneyama Mai really motivates me to draw, her artstyle is beautiful and I hope to be as good as her one day!
Her art work is so pretty to look at! 😭
Wow her style in incredible!! And you’re such an amazing artist as well 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 new sub!!
combining realism and stylistic stuff like anime is hard but very rewarding!
Damn, the art And the perfect loop. So satisfying.

I love her art bro :DDD
Stylised tear ducts are always so pretty
also want to see Yoneyamas work moving? look up the MV for the song YOKU her work in motion is fantastic! its so inspiring and just beautiful! the song fits it well.
Honestly… just got distracted by ur model the whole short… like wow… like I discovered a new world lol. Mindblown
I genuinely didn’t realize people didn’t draw those.
Im also starting to draw the waterline on my drawings after i saw a bunch of artist do it and i really love those details!
I got to meet her in person at a book signing event, it was so cool!
So beautiful
Tf you mean attempt 😭😭 thats really freaking good 😭😭😭😭
Boichi, the artist for Dr STONE actually emphasizes on the waterline in his style which I always found super unique!
What, thanks for the tip!
Even the tear duct... Oh my god
i found out about her when i heard eves song and ive been following her since
goes hard
The Lynnette one is so GORGEOUS OMG
Golden hands .. I wish I could draw like that .. Dem ~ 🥴
The line is such a cool detail. It makes the lids pop and it feels 'heavier'. More... meaty if that makes sense?
Magnificent
Yoneyama Mai, my queen
whoa... a pixel art vtuber... what a time to be alive
minimal but she has a good sense of anatomy, its still no easy trick to draw mouths like that
Same with the person who drew the animation for racing into the night by yoasobi! She fr needs more attention!!
What is said: Yoneyama Mai
What I heard: Yone meow meow Mai
Gah!
I could never hope to achieve this…
But we can!
Very skilled
jotaro mentioned 🥰🥰🥰
Huh intreseting, Ive seen a lot of Japanese and Korean artists that do this. That's where I learned it from ^^.
It looks like this person just got real eyes and gave It a lil editing
First time seeing a pixelTuber. I like it
The old goats

OKAY SO I NEED THOSE SOUND EFFECTS, MY MEMORY OF THEM IS TOO VAGUE AND I NEED TO REMEMBER
I remembered today, tis from super mario galaxy :D
In anime, the eye duct is drawn more than the waterline
Yomamamomai
Jotaro ended up showing in his video
Make a lot of sense actually. The more detail you add the more impressive the piece (generally and assuming strong style)
ill never be that good
Another artist (mangaka) that draws the waterline and looks epic is Boichi
awwww your sprite vtuber look awesome i love it ❤
Another really cool style I reccomend looking at is the one in Black Clover. Make sure to look at the manga version since the anime ended up removing a lot of the detail
And then there's gege, who draws eyes however he wants and only needs a waterline if the panel is on a face
HOW TF DOES ONE EVEN REACH THIS LEVEL
Hell yeah!
Can you try a full length video of mika pikazo as well ?
I love her art, it's so colorful and refreshing
I love your voice
JOJO MENTIONED!!!
just watch Dr of ur shorts and loved this pixel oc
i did an art assessment based on her art
❤❤❤
I would love to see more of Yoneyama Mai's art but I don't have the app she posts on :(
your attempt was nice but I think your usual artstyle is cuter :]
yoneGOAT
I feel like a lot of Chinese and Korean artists tend to emphasize the water line. Probably because of how popular Aegyosal and douyin makeup is.
Funny you mentioned JoJo cause in other examples in the manga and anime, characters are drawn with the visible tearducts, especially in some close up shots
Even when drawing anime i prefer drawing the water line and tear duct, kind of inspired by Castlevania anime art
She worked on an EvE music video, no?
yep, yoku is the one you’re thinking of! great song too (≧∇≦)
Finally someone noticed 😂💗
The artist's eyes looked like a Korean teenager at her coming-of-age party. 🤔
Goku SSJ 4 has that eye lashes
Wooahhhh
How, in the name of Christ can she illustrate art beyond human abilities
❤
I think drawing in the waterline would make drawing eyes easier, not needing to guess where the sclera goes lol
Why is she having an strock😩😩😩😹 remember the anatomy gurl
Watch a prompter go "I can do better with AI"
Ooooohhh! Do Mika PikaZo
"okay"
can amazing artists stop being all humble it just makes it even more discouraging to become an artist
