Something about the poolrooms make it so good for me; just how clean everything is despite there being water and humidity everywhere, the fact that you can see sunlight coming from outside gives it an eerie nostalgic vibe, and the fact that vidoes of them show almost no entities but its never completely excluded makes it all the more unnerving but also weirdly comfortable

A refuge for resting and thirsty entities, they will not hesitate at an opportunity to get a meal while catching a drink. The cooler nature of poolrooms makes them perfect for winding down, compared to the lukewarm stuffy nature of backrooms levels.

That way it expands seemingly infinity on all planes. I do kind of like the thought of an entity being there but it'd be creepier if there was only one and could only ever be seen in your peripheral vision and it would kind of stalk you and nothing more. That'd drive you insane and you'd be paranoid 24/7. I feel like the thought of being watched by something unknown is more uncomfortable and terrifying than being chased because of the uncertainty and unpredictability of said thing.

The Backrooms is basically a creepy pasta, similar to like Slender Man or the SCP. You basically glitch through reality or end up there some other way, but there's an almost infinite amount of floors and each floor has a different theme such as this (the pool room) or the "arctic zone" where it's just room after room of ball pits and you can hear them moving around you so you can feel there's something there besides just you. Idk about if it's a game, im sure there's been a few shitty games made to profit off the success of the videos and stories people tell if the backrooms, but I would absolutely love like a proper game, something similar to Control where you travel through a long progressive storyline and fight through different floors, maybe make the game with good replay availability if they let you choose options and those
Options change what levels you end up on.

@tiffanyleatherman9807 The backrooms is a creepypasta (creepypasta means a short creepy online story meant to shock and/or scare the viewer). The backrooms is about when you noclip (noclip is a video game term for materialising through an object without “clipping”) and ending up in a place called the backrooms. The backrooms consist of many levels with different entrances and exits to the level but most people wind up in Level 0, which consist of fluorescent lights with a constant hum-buzz, a moist, yellow carpet, and yellow patterned walls when no clipping from the frontrooms (the frontrooms is the reality you are in right now and is the reality opposite of the backrooms) Level 0 is described to take on the appearance of an office building but with no offices or people, just the walls, lights and floor. In a lot of backrooms levels, there are entities that vary in safety and hostility. Some entities and extremely harmful while others are kinda chill. The poolrooms is the 37th backrooms level and consists of white tiled walls and pools of water (shocker). There are also different classes assigned to all sorts of backrooms levels that are assigned mainly on a level’s traits like it’s safety, security (how random and chaotic the level is) and it’s entity count. The 5 main classes are class 1, 2, 3, 4 and class 5. There are other classes that exceed these basic classes and/or have different traits but those are the main classes. Sanity is an essential survival factor in the backrooms and can deplete the more time you spend in the backrooms, especially on more dangerous levels. The universal drinkable fluid in the backrooms is almond water and can help increase your sanity. There are also certain levels including level 0 that can only be entered from the frontrooms. Also sorry if there are any mistakes in my writing, I am only just recovering from dengue as I am writing this.
If you don’t want me to blather on anymore and want more information, I’ll post a link to the fan-made wiki. (Yes there are backrooms fans):

I would argue this is infinitely worse than the back rooms. It’s almost impossible to run through waist deep water, and even on the tile it can still be wet and slippery. Not to mention the overwhelming smell of chlorine and the suffocating humidity. Just imagine hearing some kind of distant splashing, feet on wet tile, or kids playing in the water.
This isn’t even discussing the fact that you have to choose between dying of dehydration or poisoning yourself with the chlorinated water.
Edit: Thank you for quoting the intricate and inflexible doctrine of the backrooms wiki, however this was merely a different interpretation of this concept.

    Here's my interpretation:
The backrooms is the abyss. The space In between spaces, that is essentially the gaps between universes.
Technically alive and technically near never ending, It exists to keep all dimensions together, like a glue. Alive in the sense that it can change its layout and looks.
If the walls of a universe are forced enough by whatever means, then stuff gets through, and sucked in like a drain.
It's levels look and present themselves differently depending on what historical era or place they were accessed by.
When items, people or living matter get sucked in, (from mushrooms to entire buildings), the abyss adapts and generates itself to look similar.
Async forced a doorway into the abyss and wanted to use it for retail and storage, not realising that the space is technically alive. Doing so, the areas around the portal are now starting to crack and cause clipping into the abyss, due to the strain portals cause on universes themselves.
The elements and other forms of disease and matter in the abyss causes anything from plant life to dead matter to reanimate in different ways, hence the presence of entities, faceless ones or hounds.
The abyss can be seen in dreams sometimes, which is not only the body's way of healing and making sense of higher cognitive evolution traits, but as a way of "feeding" itself to stay alive. Dreams give us a filter, however. We get to explore the abyss with a safety shield, that we can wake up from.
Going into the backrooms in person, is a much more dangerous endeavour, and not recommended.
It looks like it's man made, so that it can feed off our emotions, fear and atomic being itself.
(The pool rooms is merely another form or level)

The original concept of the Labyrinth was a manifestation of (interactable and escapable) chaos/madness- and potentially the most natural home for the fragment of ourselves that is destructive and unwanted- the Minotaur. The labyrinth is an ultimate construct of sacrifice and a trial that only the truly worthy could expect to complete.
"The Back Rooms" utilizes modern special effects to visually manifest a sense of cosmic horror that you would expect within the walls of a Labyrinth without having to physically build one, now... with a twist. The Labyrinth has become a literal wet dream of escape-room fanatics. Are "The Pool Rooms" a place for care-free adventure? Or could they be the den of a beast and a tomb for the unworthy?

a few weeks ago i went on a trip with a caving group to explore an abandoned slate mine. a large portion of the mine had been almost completely flooded, and so we kept coming across these massive caverns filled with unnaturally vivid dark blue water (i think the minerals in the rock had something to do with the water's colour). because it was so dark underground, you couldn't see the walls or the bottom of the cavern so it looked like it was just water stretching on forever in all directions. it was eerily quiet down there, and the many similar looking caverns had a sort of procedurally generated vibe. this video reminded me a lot of that experience.

This reminds me of an indoor pool at a hotel we went to years ago. It wasn't eerie at all though. And my friend's aunt has a huge pool in her house. And since her house is so big, if it were empty it would be pretty creepy (but awesome) to walk through since I've never been in a house of that size. It's amazing.

    I don’t know man.
There’s something “uncomfortable” with this level. Like, I get the peaceful ambience of floating in the water maze but in the same breath, you have to realize that a normal human being can’t move as fast in water as if they were on land. You have 0 fighting chance in this level in my opinion. Granted, you don’t have a fighting chance in any of the back rooms (as far as I know, I’m still learning the lore and it’s so cool haha). Your options are limited to the point where, if you had to face an entity on this level, you’d have to bank on parts of this maze that had ground you could climb up on. I’m probably over thinking this but man. It’s interesting to see different takes from different people. I guess it really comes down to our experiences and how “comfortable” we feel in an environment that hasn’t given us grief in the past. To those who wouldn’t get bothered by this level, I commend you LOL. This would be my worse nightmare given my phobia of all things water and swimming. 😂😂😂😭

    • @lynous3738
      @lynous3738 2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

The entities here only show up in the danger zone, which can be accessed through the big dark tunnel shown in this video. No creatures will attack you unless you walk in there, and there are some bases here(totalling to around 100+ people in this level) as well as supplies such as food and water that can refill themselves in the main area of this level. You won't have to worry about the anything chasing you in the water as long as you don't go in the danger zone. It's a pretty cool area to stay and chill and you could even make it your own home. It also restores your sanity which is very important, so that's that. Overall, pretty safe as long as you don't voluntarily put yourself in danger.

What are now called "liminal spaces" are something that I've had a strong emotional connection with my whole life. Seeing them suddenly become so recognized in the last couple years has been such a trip.
I used to make lots of drawings and paintings of places like this and always thought I was so weird. I wanted people to feel the same thing I felt in places like these. I don't think everyone who's drawn to this stuff is necessarily feeling the same things, but I'm sure a lot of us are. They never scared me or freaked me out.
I'm not sure exactly how they made me feel. Not joyful or warm or welcomed. But fascinated. I always had a thing for industrial zones, warehouses, parking garages, train stations at night when no one is there. I think it was like a vague combination of wanting to understand something that didn't have a clear purpose, being free to explore that vagueness with no one else around, but also free to apply my own meaning to them.
I guess I also just loved the vaguely spooky atmosphere. Coming out of the 90s it's hard not to love a good abandoned industrial zone. Brutalist as fuck.
