Back in high school I had long hair. but so did everybody in the 60's and 70's. My hair back then was down to the middle of my back (another reason I always liked this song)!

They were on tour when they were told they were to perform this song on this TV Special. They recorded the song in two days. Not thinking it would be a hit, but it was. Yes, those are all wigs.

This song is right up your alley Lulu. Your reaction was cute. Your face looked as if you experienced every emotion known to man. LOL. The band is really the brothers, sister and their mother. They even made a TV series out of this band, The Partridge Family. The Cowsills have another huge hit, The Rain, The Park, And Other things". I think you might even add it to your playlist if you ever get around to hearing it. PS, they sure had some dreamy hair in this video. LOL. FYI, Their dad (Bud) didn't want them to record this song, but they ignored him. The rest is history. Lastly this tune is from the Broadway hit play of the same name "Hair"

I've liked this song since I first heard it back when it was fairly new. I never saw this performance video until a few months ago and I love it. It's so clever and creative and showed their personalities off so well.

It’s not obvious from this performance, Lulu, but this was the title song of a well-known stage musical at the time. Just throwing that detail out. 🙂

The Cowsills | Hair !!!!!!!...I had been planing on sending this one to you. BTW those were expensive wigs they were wearing. They were asked to record it for show and be able to lip sync. When they recorded it they forgot Susan so they went back and added her singing "and Spaghetti" ....... I did send this one...Cowsills "The Rain, The Park, Other Things" From 2013 CD "The Billy Cowsill Benefit" The family band that The Partridge Family was based on.
I sent this to you months ago and you have it scheduled for 8/30/24...This is my favorite version. It was actually recorded in 2005. They got together to raise money for Billy's hospital bills. He had cancer.

You should do some more of the Cowsills music. This is a family group. Mom, 5 sons and the youngest is her only daughter, Susan. Sadly, only 3 of them are still alive.
