I'm a law enforcement officer, and hearing Ranger Wadsworth's stories, I really couldn't help but be enthralled at the way it used to be done. Lots of the same, such as an officer's intuition and the handling of business, but the old-school stuff was insanely interesting. I also come from a hard labor background before joining and so much of what he said resonates with me as a rural boy. Thank you for your service, sir. It was a privilege to hear your story. I wish I could have a beer with you and just listen.
Kenny was an outstanding peace officer. He and I were a couple of old weight men (now CVE) back in his DPS Trooper days. He was sharp, and accumulated a lot of knowledge throughout his career as he became a motor vehicle theft agent and eventually a Texas Ranger. Great guy!
Outstanding video. I know a retired Capt of the Texas Rangers. Long time gone now. As I am 59 and he died when I was around 15 or so. He is just as interesting to sit and listen to. Not talk. Let him do the talking. Same manner as Kenny and OMG the stories and tales he had. Thank you for your service Kenny.
I wrote a tune “Devil Yack 1841” about Jack Hayes the Texas Ranger that revolutionized the Colt against Comanches, Love some Texas Ranger talk. Great episode Dale yeah
Hey, Kenny. It’s great to see you on the podcast. Though we never got to work cases together, I enjoyed our time together as TSCRA Special Rangers. That first meeting we met at the Rocker b, I really enjoyed visiting with you and the years that followed.
Kenny I wonder if our family tree are connected somehow. And my Uncle Ralph(same last name) is a retired Texas Ranger also. ……he is in his early 90’s now. Still going. He was in the JFK motorcade that fateful day in 63. Dale he is one of the few remaining involved in that motorcade alive. He did an interview a few years back on it. Proud of him ! Great show today.
What a great episode y'all. I've always thought that the Texas Rangers were bad to the bone. I told my parents I was going to be one til they explained there's no Texas Rangers in Kansas 😂. When you having Dean back on? He's funnier than all get out, I swear I watched his first one a hundred times. I'm sure we'd all love to hear how he's been doing since then!
Great guest and nice to hear from someone who worked in law enforcement and really thought on the community level, the individual level. For me the cameras relate to all the stuff the guys wear now, as the guest mentioned. They're like shock troops, kitted out to intimidate, not the local neighborhood police officer sworn to protect and serve, and they use all sorts of technology as they see fit, so they should be monitored just as the community minded police officer who really knows the people she's dealing with deserves some autonomy to balance out nuanced situations. Super Poker is a really good interviewer, listens, asks good questions, relaxed, insightful and affirming; very impressive. Something nice about this cowboy culture is they're the kind of people who don't mind hard things and are able to enjoy fun things so they're usually pretty positive and happy people. The guest keeps mentioning how much he values the people he's gotten to work with and that's a really beautiful thing to be able to say and have in your holster. The world is given to us and created by us and I feel like people who deal with more hardship are better able to embrace the everyday good things, like being with your horse, or people you care about, and thus create a better life for themselves, one more filled with things that truly nourish. Take it from the man.
Trooper wadsworth pulled me over twice in a 5 day period, gave me a warning both times, told me there won’t be a third 😂, trooper Snead by collage station would write me up weekly😂😂, back in the good old days of Trucking
It does break your back and knees and neck I was the same age when I went through my academy it wasn’t DPS but we are seen in Texas from El Paso to Brownsville. I’m coming on 20 and about done.
When you are in a rural area you have local police and the sheriff depending on the area you may have one or two deputies that have lots of miles to cover so you have DPS and depending on the area some federal agencies that assist each other on normal law enforcement activities.
Hi dale I’m 13 and learn from you whenever I can so I can ranch and rodeo when I’m older love the vids keep up the good work

I know the Wadsworth family very well! Great family!
My family ranched in Scurry County, around Snyder. We had a hunting lease south of Colorado City. We had a lot of fun there, too.

He's correct about west Odessa. Ghetto as it gets.
Texas rangers don’t teach you how to fight.
