I’m 43 and an Iraq/ Afghanistan combat veteran with 7 deployments and multiple injuries. My personal hero early on was Lane Frost, my wife wanted to name our youngest son Lane because of my admiration for Lane Frost. We did and he’s 13 years old now. No more kids at this point in my life but I’m going to hope my son names my first grandson JB. The mindset from people that grew up with dads that stern and no bullshit that made us tougher than most in my opinion. I was debating on getting out of the Army after my 2nd deployment, my dad drove 3 hours to talk to me face to face and made it clear that I started it and that I was going to finish what I started and he didn’t raise quitters and he wasn’t going to start then. I stayed in and I lost my father while on my 3rd deployment and I can still hear his voice “that’s MY last name behind your first name, and you’ll never disrespect or bring shame to either one”

Jb is just the all around genuine dude that you want in your circle. He's loyal hard working and he calls em straight. No excuses should be his middle name.
10 years ago at age 56 I got a Care-flite off my farm in Texas. I hit the ground with the force of a ton. Helmet came off landed 30 feet away, collapsed right lung, broken ribs both sides, right shoulder a/c separation and I broke T8 and T9 in my back. 10 year anniversary the 18th of this month. I'm lucky to be alive. My young Arabian mare blew up.
I believe that man can reach more young folk than most and I believe 100% thats why he is still with us. Everyone looks up him, young and old. His attitude and the way he comes across is 2nd to none.
His statement pertaining to broken legs, and the warning his father gave him at an early stage of bull riding...what a baddass. My hero! RIP Lane Frost. RIP
One of the best if not the best most honest interview I've ever seen. I haven't rode a horse in 20 years. But this man is one cool badass honest down to earth MoFo.
Thanks for this, it was cool listening to jb and remembered back in the day 50yrs ago when I rode and loved it. Eat, drink and dream about riding bulls. The pain i live with today are reminders of the glory days.
Dude this takes me back to my 10th grade English teacher, she said he was her nephew & she his Aunt back in 1996-97 I think 💭 West Davidson HS in Tyro NC

Hilarious. I’m like the same build , same attitude , same health and bad habits but I’ve never been on a Bull . Or even been close to a Cowboy . But he’s always compared Motocross to bull riding , other than the bike doesn’t come and try to kill you after you crash . What an amazing and hard core down and dirty man 🤙👊 JB
On JB's Entry Form, he lists his Occupation as "Rodeo Cowboy", not just Bull Rider. That Says It ALL! He's a Real Cowboy, who happens to Ride Bulls, for a Living

I had so 30 jobs by 23 and i hated them all before i got into trucking 33 yrs later im still trucking and can't stand working around others or having people stand over me saying anything. Ill die in a Semi somewhere in this country
Is there a reason they don't give these men better safety equipment to improve survivability? It's a ballsy sport but the world needs more men like this not less.
for reference as to how little 7 mill actually is ,if you want your own Ranch the Cheapest your spending is 5 Million I actually did the math is about 5.2 if the land is crappy and you get your animals from a close individual.

Question why he decided to coach Oklahoma instead of his own state?
