I got mine off Amazon for 30, been on sale there for at least a week.
Love mine!
Same here. $30😂
A compression lock Large Pyrite would be great!
It's better than fine. It's the budget knife of the Year. Gg Cjrb
I have bought many great $50-$200 knives in the last few years, but none of them have ever become my perfect EDC, OR, my perfect Fidget. But this Blue Pyrite Light, for $30?!!!, has suddenly become BOTH. Amazing…Unbelievable…
$30!!!
Bravo Artisan Cutlery and CJRB!
I asked on their site about other options like satin or sand blasted blade and other colors and they said they plan to have TONS of options in just a bit of time.
Good to know!.
I wish they'd do white scales and murder out the button so you end up with the stormtrooper look.
Btw, i got mine on Amazon for $29.99, i think they're still going for that now.
They recently had a post on their Facebook with a bunch of possible color combinations including storm trooper with black blade white scales and one with gold PVD blade asking people's opinions about them
Such a missed opportunity to call it the pylite
I love this comment to goddamn much
Oh my god. So obvious and yet…..????
@@bernielomax4702 RIGHT its actually infuriating
A Pyrite button compression lock? YES PLEASE!!!! Budget AND premium versions! Btw, this is an excellent knife (bought 3 for myself and gifts).
I want a premium variant of this exact pyrite. Fingers crossed! This is my perfect pyrite! 🔥
I have actually given it some pretty decent spine whacks just out of curiosity nothing crazy but it hasn't failed definitely some solid strength for a plunge lock
According to their site it’s a PVD coating on the blade.
looks like a good option for a kitchen food prep folder if you don't mind thoroughly cleaning it every now and then. You can probably tell what I'm after right now.
It is in fact not lighter than the original Alt G10 version, which is 2.5oz. that one definitely disappears more in the pocket being flat and lighter, but this one ultimately feels much better in the hand with an actually usable choil, for $15-$25 less, w/TS and not cutout. Win-win-win
Idk where you got your information
But from the CJRB website, the G-10 Alt-Pyrite is 3.7 ounces
And that’s the 3.11 inch blade one, the normal sized one
Might be looking at the lite version
@@bornonthebattlefront4883 my scale is my source. 3.7 Oz is definitely the steel frame version not the G10 scales
@@bornonthebattlefront4883most websites list the g10 variants at 2.66 ounces, and the steel handles at 3.8 ounces. but you DO get a larger knife for the same weight.
@@DeerUNIT42no
It’s the g-10
The steel scales are 4.3
Your scale is wrong
So I just weighed the steel version and got 3.7 oz. I think he's right. The G10 variant probably weighs the same. I looked for my G10 variant to compare but can't find it
Nice, I'm carrying the green one today
I just got one and it is fantastic. This is a BANGER! No shit.
I just picked one up. In blue with black blade. I really like it and reminds me of a Benchmade. Doesn't feel like cheap frn. Only issue it came REALLY dull. I tried touching it up with a ceramic rod which usually does the trick but seems I need to do a re-sharpening on the diamonds. I'll let you know how it turns out but overall I'm not complaining. For under 30$ there's nothing I can think of worth picking up.
I have the rosegold & blue one. LOVE IT!
I just ordered this one also in the green and black version. It will be here on Tuesday. This might be the best budget knife in 2024.
For what I am paying and using this knife for. The button lock on it is just fine! It’s a great general purpose knife for the price!
I just received mine from Amazon. Mechanically it is fine, operating smoothly with a very sharp edge. Materials left a bit to be desired though. Not the FRN scales and AR-RPM (powdered AUS9) blade steel, you knew that going in. Mine came with a permanent diagonal stripe in the left side blade coating (bonus, no need to worry when I will first scratch the coating) and there were particles of grit embedded into the coating, large enough to catch on a fingernail, and requiring that nail to scrape free of the lens. Still, it is a $30 knife. Toss it into a workbox and don't worry about it. Bottom line, as long as your expectations aren't too high, you will get what you paid for.
Mine came in last week and I really like it
I'll be ordering the blue/black here in a few I'm thinking.
Can't wait!
It’s almost as good as budget value as the opinel!! 😃
I like this one. Thanks for your review.
Kizer has a budget compression lock with the mini grouper. As well as vosteed with the raccoon. Standard plunge locks aren’t my style but they are fun to fidget with. Some people are ok buying several hundred dollar knives with weak plunge locks but whatever floats their boat
I would love to see this in non-coated or mirror DLC coated S90V. Based on the popularity of this one, I would be absolutely shocked if they didn’t do an S90V version. I only have their Prado, but the AR-RPM9 on mine loses its edge after cutting 10’ of cardboard. And it’s not due to a burnt edge, I have re-sharpened it five or six times myself on a fixed angle system at multiple different finishing grits. But a Pyrite light with S90V, I’m definitely a buyer
Everyone seems to love it, Im sure I would too. I just don't understand though. Aren't there enough Pyrites? I have 2 myself. Do we need Lighter Pyrites? Do we need Cheaper Pyrites? I don't know. Let the sales pitch continue I guess.🙃😲
It is interesting that they changed from a opening hole to thumb studs on the light weight version??? Compression button lock would be great! I don't like normal compression locks because it isn't as easy to use with left handed.
Amazon for $29, just ordered one. If it’s decent, that’s a steal.
I love mine! I have both the blue and green for 29.99 at Amazon. For that price I had to get both of them. That makes 6 Pyrites for me. Maybe more to come?🤔🤔🤔
Ordered mine off Amz for $29.99 on June 28 but **still** waiting for it to ship.
I like knives with a little heft in them
I hope they offer a version without the thumb studs.
I would like to see if CJRB will play around with Frack variants. I dont mind a heavier, heftier knife...prefer actually. Does not a knife depend on the task? I wont be cutting down a pine/oak/redwood tree with a herring! (Cf Monty Python for reference) 😊
Love Monty Python. The holy grail is one of my all time favorite movies.
@@MikeJ602 Dont get turned into a newt!
I got better.
@@MikeJ602 LOL!
Only black blade wharncliffe at release is an odd decision. I’ll be waiting for the non-coated drop point version.
I am a bad person for wishing this had a flipper tab? Everything thing else about it seems perfect.
Got mine couple weeks ago and it still has button stick…Hope it will break in soon. Have the older version in frag and it’s great!
Sometime you can turn the button and find a better spot for it to hit the blade tang. I use a rubber band on my finger tip. Push the button so it’s not fully engaged and turn it. It works sometimes.
@@MikeJ602 thanks Mike!
That looks awesome to me
I passed on this and got the Nedfoss Cougar instead. The cougar is fine, but I shoulda got this instead. Hell, I coulda got both colors for the same price as a single Cougar!
You got to review the mkm yipper
I think the Light is actually slightly heavier than the g10/steel liner pyrites due to the fact that the g10 version has milled liners. My Pyrite Alt in g10 weighs in at 2.5oz
The liners plus the light being a little longer
very nice
Every new iteration is slightly more different from the OG version. When will they allow themselves to just rename it?
I got mine about 10 days ago…..I would pretty much second everything the presenter said. I was a bit worried about the button lock as I’m a lefty and worried my hand position might accidentally engage it, but it’s nowhere close.
Keep expecting the video of your prototype to be released?
Soon
Hell yeah
The CJRB provided info on Amazon says the blade is bigger, with FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon - glorified plastic) handles. At least they went with a blue, and not a coyote or similar. A red might be cool.
I like knives.
I thought I just purchased one recently
29.99 on Amazon prime day deal
Block Trail
Some of us do use our edc for more heavy use than Styrofoam so having a lock that stands up to the spine whack is an aspect i dont need to concern myself with. Id rather be worried about snapping the blade than the knife folding on my hand
Edit: touched on in the latter half of the video
Currently $29.99 on Amazon
Mylene Bridge
Is it made in the USA? 🇺🇸
Nom good luck finding any budget knife made in the US
button locks are that unreliable?
Some companies do them very well. They’re just not meant to be for hard use. There are many that pass a spine whack test though.
@@MikeJ602 gotcha. I'm new to knives and this was the first time I heard any of the potential drawbacks of a button lock. Thanks 👍
The plunge lock locking surfaces can also get banged up. While a cylinder is a strong shape for a locking system, the metal itself isn’t always able to shrug off any significant bumps and bangs.
They won't ship it to NY 😫 and can't buy it from their website
Amazon has them
@@AlanSpringer2074 amazon wont ship to me and cjrb doesn't have it for sale on their website. 🤷♂️
I’m from NY. Amazon won’t ship the green version, but the algorithm hadn’t banned the blue one from shipping to NY as of a couple weeks ago, so there’s a good chance you can still buy the blue.
@@Initiallyleo thanks brother but I tried. No go on the blue or green 😭🤣
@@LuckyLuch11 Ugh! I was really hoping they wouldn’t catch that they missed blocking one for a while.
Better known as "fools gold". Just sayin.
I might feel a little foolish.
I had a pyrite. It was junk. Lock wore out in 2 months. Bad knife, won't buy another cjrb
Artisan/ cjrb can't make a decent knife. Then a can I never I touched one. Na I'll pass
This is a good one. I have it in my hands 👍
How's that? I dislike button locks, but the Pyrite seems like a good line of knives.
Hahahahahaha! Oh boy. Troll or bot? You all be the judge. Lmfao!
The more I see this thing the more I like it! I love the Pyrite line and I think they definitely need to explore more variations with the large; it’s such a great knife and with them making the plunge lock bigger to fit the knife it feels so much stronger.
This lighter version is definitely a cool twist because they tweaked all the right things and just cut cost on the handle material but with it having texture and being contoured it is not at all a step backwards. I definitely need to get this version in hand
Thanks
