Instead of taking a second to research Lego’s business model/principles or taking some time to rationally think, you decide to lazily come to the conclusion that they just got lazy. Like seriously, do you really think all the Lego exec’s are just sitting around in their board rooms going “ughhhhhhh I don’t wanna work today 😫😫😫”

@@h2owl205 in my opinion lego got lazy with batman sets. they're literally just the same thing and we only get joker and batman figs now and no other characters. last time we had some decent dc/batman sets was 2019.

This was a lego masterpiece. Literally one of the sexiest play sets they have ever released. The 2000s was lego play set heaven.
When you look at it next to the other Batcaves, it doesn't even compare. They don't make sets like this anymore, which is too bad. Best Set Ever

A remastered version would be AMAZING like it would be perfect for that all the nostalgia for the people who remember and some improvements on something that's not really good but it still holds up
The 70909 Batcave set is basically a homage to this set.

You say this kind of set isn’t done anymore with the amount of figs and vehicles and looking at the past batcaves they have been disappointing! But I feel like the 1960s batcave had the same feeling and was done perfectly
This is by far one of the best sets LEGO has ever made. I lucked out and got it for 200 dollars on ebay two years ago

This set aged really well! I'd love to see the next batcave be similar to this.
It is very wild how much higher quality the colors of the prints were back then then they are now, bleeding seemed very rare versus the lego batman movie sets and overwatch sets
The vehicle included is so jank. Like “don’t worry robin, I’ll catch up to those crooks with my Bat-giant ski mobile with twin machine guns!”
I’d love to see this get a remake, especially since the turntable would be great for a batmobile, maybe even include some waterfall/cave like door.

My mom got this for Christmas 2006.
I was about 13 years old. She tried so hard to hide the fact that it was this set and I found it out before I opened it on Christmas day.
Anyways , I love this set and I actually have a lot of the pieces and minifigs to this day.
THAT'S MY WHITE WHALE. I'm a SUCKER for the Lego versions of the Bat-caves, I love ALL of them. I was almost buying one when they revealed the new one for the 2022 movie so I'm holding myself but boy this is beautiful, amazing video!!

9:52 You built the cannon wrong, the seat area with the Bat logo dish piece is supposed to be at the top and level with the other weapons on that build.
But man, this set. The holy grail of the original Batman theme, the Batcave that no other version has been able to beat ever since, even 15 years later. I've lost count with how many hours I spent watching Forrestfire101 videos and being greeted with this set and the line "In the deep dark lair, of the Batman".
Since this was $130 Canadian back then, I wasn't allowed to get it as a kid. But thankfully I managed to get it a few years ago brand New for a pretty steep price, but not as bad as paying $1000 for it. This set just had it all, you could put the Batboat in the dock area if you had it, the Batmobile on the turntable, the Batwing with its stand as well, this really was the "ultimate" Batman set. This Batcomputer area has yet to be beat too, those giant green screens and the trophies were little touches that Lego didn't have to throw in, but did anyways. I'm really glad the new Batcave from The Batman sets brought the turntable area back where you could put the Batmobile, every other Batcave always ignored that and it bothered me to no end.
And don't even get me started on the minifigures. To this day, this is still the only set that features a comic Alfred minifigure that isn't based on a movie version. It's still the best one as well with all that detail with the printing, especially on the head, no wonder why it still goes for so much money online. This version of Robin is my favorite variant, I always did like the red, green, and yellow combination instead of red and black, that classic hairpiece is something we don't get anymore now either.
nostalgia in a big box
Man, still need to get this. Like you I always wanted this as a kid but never got it. I just bought the 2006 Arkham last week which was another set I always wanted. I'm quite enjoying it.
2 months later but I finally got it. Our stories about this set are quite similar. It was my white whale too and I still can’t believe I have it. Also it is so much bigger than the video suggests.
Im thinking of selling mine. Its complete with instructions but im in canada

Definitely the best Lego batcave ever, although the 2012, Lego Batman movie, and 2019 ones are also really awesome and if were to be combined in some way could probably top this one.

Actually, I think that's the Sled vehicle Batman used in Batman and Robin, the movie where Arnold Schwarzenegger played Mr Freeze
Not the best movie, but all of Gotham got frozen over for a bit, so as niche as a "Bat Sled" would be, it served it's purpose

Awesome review Ashnflash. I finally got this grail about a year or two ago because I too missed out on this amazing set as a kid. Probably the best batcave and possibly one of the best Lego Batman sets to date. Love your videos keep up the good work!!

I remember picking this up when I was just a kid. I absolutely loved this set!!!! Combined this with my killer croc and bane set from the same time period. So nostalgic

I really like how there is a turntable just imagine lego batman, he has to go fight crime and lego alfred forgot to turn around the lego batmobile then lego batman had to physically back out of the lego bat driveway.
I honestly love the batcomputer section, it’s my favourite part of the set. Shame I don’t have it but it would be awesome. Great review btw!
I'd really like to see a spiral staircase in another Batcave set, especially since I wasn't fortunate enough to get this set. This set does really remind me of the Batcave that came out in 2019, with the mini bat museum (it would be nice to see a full sized one in the future) as well as the workout area.

I've seen a new in box listing for this set online for $1K recently. Seeing this review, I can tell why! Although I don't personally think that any toy should be that much...or collector's item, if you prefer to call it that.
seeing this set brings back so many flashbacks. I had this set and it was one of my favs, but a few years ago my younger and dumber self sold all the pieces for the set and every day i regret it. I still have the figures, thank god, but to have the set still would've been nice

Bought this for a deal on eBay came without the bat slider thing but was worth the money it's a pain to build used Lego sets especially bigger ones like this
