Next time rent a house in Port Royal on South Bimini. You literally dock your boat in front of your house. Way better than staying at Bimini Cove. I have been to Bimini about 10 times.
Squid, I used 30 gallons of gas to get their. Average mpg 1.9/2. Just remember you are going against the Gulf Stream and you are going to be loaded down on the way their. For planning purposes I would assume the worst gas mileage you’ve ever gotten on your boat while fishing. On the way home we got 2.8 to 3 mpg
I was disappointed in the Bahamas, although I've only ben to Grand Bahama where it rained most of the time. I stayed at an all-inclusive in Freeport years ago when I was there for a photography job shooting a swimwear catalog for a Florida company and I found similar problems with the accomodations. I also had my room broken into, not broken into rather someone either picked the lock or had a key (house cleaning?), and a cheaper Nikon N65 film body camera was taken loaded with images. They didn't touch my Canon GL2 video camera or my Nikon F100 film body. The rooms were not very clean and the food was so-so.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience. On my trip the best part was having my boat and being on our time instead of being on Hey excursion’s timeframe
