    Really helpful video. I have dipped my toe into molding and casting but with variable results at best so it was good to see how it should be done properly! I think this build is going to be special.

      Thanks, I'm glad you've found the information useful 👍 Humans have been moulding and casting things for centuries, and the basic concepts have stayed the same. Once you get to grips with the basics you can pretty much mould anything, at any size. In the relatively short time I've been doing it I've moulded things from a few millimetres, to several feet across

    Nice tip on measuring for volume, I always seem to short myself on how much I'd need! Looking forward to your build as I need some motivation to finish my Smoothie!

      I ended up short that time too! 😆 Only because I didn't have enough rubber though, not from under estimating the volume 👍😎

    I had never though of using a 'keying knife' but that is a great idea!

      It saves a lot of time for cutting open block moulds, rather than claying up and pouring one half at a time. It's not always possible though, and doesn't always make for a good long-term mould (depending on what's being moulded)
