    I lightly wet a Q-Tip with hydrogen peroxide. I wipe it around the outside of my ear, it runs into and lightly cleans any extra wax out and I tip my head and drain them use a dry Q-Tip to clean the excess liquid. I do not clean my ears internally with Q-Tips. That is a bad idea. But that’s what works for me, I do this maybe 2 times a month and I’ve never had any problems.

    So...I'll state. I tried using H2O2 in my ears. And yes...I probably used too much. I took a "1/2 cap full into each canal...not 3-4 drops.
    I was too aggressive.
    I moved massive amounts of wax out...but hopefully NOT at the long term detriment to my "right ear drum"...as I'm not hearing well out of it currently -post 12 hours later.
    Learn from me...use 3-4 drops And Do USE AN EYE DROPPER to regulate the amounts.
    Also...don't let it stay in over 2 minutes...let it drain...take a break..then perhaps do 2-3drops the following day. Be conservative.

    • @aussie8114
      @aussie8114 3 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      I disagree, the idea is to basically fill the canal or half fill it, a few drops is nowhere near enough, but yes use a dropper. Leave it in for about 4 or 5 minutes while massaging the back of your ear a little to move the wax around, allow it to drain out then repeat. Do this about 5 times in a row.
      The reason you find hearing has worsened is because you have not done it thoroughly enough, you have simply softened the wax now it sticks to your eardrum.

    • @vvidover

They prefer if you use a product to soften the wax for a few days before you get them flushed out, makes it easier for the wax to be flushed out, but you don’t have to do that.

Do another 30 minutes per ear again. Been doing it 35 years. Keeps disease away, sickness. Ears, the first area that gets attacked. And the stronger the better for me. Never dilute.

    I used it to unclog my left ear. It took 2 days because I was scared to use it for too long. I didn't go to a doctor because I was on a business trip, and I didn't know the area. So, I went to a pharmacy to get hydrogen peroxide - just to see if it would help.
    It creates a bubbling effect. It also turned my fingertips white, but that disappeared within a few hours.
    I dipped a piece of cotton wool into 3% hydrogen peroxide.
    I then inserted the dipped piece of cotton wool into my left ear while I was lying down on my right side (my left ear was facing up).
    As the solution bubbled (quite a lot) inside my ear, I used clean cotton wool pieces to absorb the peroxide solution.
    I did this for 2 days (10 minutes).
    Be careful when doing this - don't let it into your eyes. And wash your hands thoroughly before and after.
    It saved me quite a bit of money to do myself. However, I would rather just in the future go to a doctor as I didn't know whether it could damage my eardrum, etc. I was very hesitant with the solution, but I was also very grateful that it worked since I was quite desperate.

    • @K.Marie119
      @K.Marie119 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not much. Just means there wasn't enough wax present to cause the hydrogen peroxide to decompose into water and oxygen gas. The fizzing is caused by the oxygen escaping the liquid.n

      @@K.Marie119 how much time should the hydrogene peroxide stay in the ear??

    • @K.Marie119
      @K.Marie119 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@xmrcy6012 Well, most people don't need to do this in the first place. The ear cannal is self cleaning and ear wax is essential to maintaining a healthy ear. It traps bacteria, viruses, and other debris as well as picks up dead skin cells. It's constantly moved out of the ear canal via cilia and the motion of the jaw when chewing or speaking. It also helps maintain the correct amount of moisture. Cleaning your ears too often can actually cause the glands to over produce.
      That being said, there are some people who, for whatever reason, naturally produce abnormally large amounts or wax that is dryer than usual. It's usually down to genetics and/or age and is not a reflection of the person's hygiene habits.
      If you chose to use hydrogen peroxide, 3-5 drops should be plenty. Remain on your side for roughly 5 minutes, and blot any excess if you need to. Repeat for the other ear. ***DO NOT*** use a q-tip or swab. It's quite easy to inflict damage that way. The point of the H2O2 is to soften the wax enough that it can move out on its own. If, at any point, you experience pain, burning, itching, or other discomfort, stop use and see your primary care provider.
      ***Disclaimer*** Please always see your PCP before trying any new home treatment. I am still in medical school as well as I don't know anything about your history. @@xmrcy6012 I'm not comfortable speculating about that without a history and exam. But I will say that it's not all that uncommon. It's pretty common, especially as you get older, and can have a lot to do with one ear being exposed to loud noise more often... especially if you've been the type to only wear one ear bud or something similar. If it's bothersome or significant and you've never had a work up,

    No. Don’t use hydrogen peroxide on your pup. This common household product can actually cause irritation to healthy skin cells. Ears contain very sensitive tissue, and extended use of hydrogen peroxide could eventually lead to damage of the ear itself. Stick to veterinarian-approved cleaners.

      Leave it in for about 30sec. I've heard you can leave it in until it stops bubbling, but it's probably over doing it. Make sure it's 3%. Two or three drops are enough. Don't use a cotton swab inside your ear to remove the hydrogen peroxide. The farthest anything should be going inside your ear is what your finger can reach, so only remove the wax there. And only do it once a week for two months to avoid issues. This should only be used for minor wax build up, I'm pretty sure. If you're having trouble hearing, you should go see a doctor instead to have your ears cleaned.
