    This video is hilarious, no make of car in title, the heavy breathing as you continuously stall, the rattles and creaks of this piece of shit car. Actual art.
    Edit: This comment gained some traction so heres a few things to help the OP or anyone learning manual:
    1) Get someone who knows manual to take the car on a little test drive, if theres something wrong with the clutch or any other issues you might not realise as you don't know what "right" feels like.
    2) Watch English Driving Instructors as we all learn manual over here so they know how to teach it more effectively than a lot of the American vids I've seen - I highly recommend "Conquer Driving"
    3) If you do stall just leave it in first and push the clutch down and restart the engine, no need to go into neutral.
    4) Just practice on a car park (parking lot) setting off and moving. Don't be afraid to ride the clutch a bit, it's not gonna do any damage if you're at a reasonable RPM, it's what the clutch is designed to do!
    5) Don't try to set off quick at junctions (intersections), stop signs etc. Just take it easy and go slowly, if you try to go quickly at the beginning you're way more likely to stall.
    Good luck!

    Glad to see people still learning stick. It will be second nature soon. People wont like you stalling now, but in a few months you can flex on them with some heel toe down shifts.
    Also to add on to what others have said: You can feel where the Clutch engages and disengages by slowly pushing the clutch in and out. The car can be off to get the feel for it aswell. The peddle should get a little stiffer/heavier when the clutch is engaging. Also make sure your pushing the clutch all the way in when disengaging.
    But dont let other drivers discourage you. Learning another way to drive will make you a better driver overall. Keep it up.

    Crying of laughter. This was me driving my mom’s 2002 Ford Focus wagon for the first time after getting my license. I managed to stall it close to 10 times at one intersection. Then I got even more nervous and kept trying to drive off with the handbrake still engaged. I was praying for no further stop signs or red lights on my way home. Hearing your labored breathing put me right back in the driver’s seat that day. I had many cars behind me and saw a bicycle approaching from the right. I decided right there sorry, not gonna yield to you today, my guy! And so I went from creeping in second gear to going full throttle in fourth. Not sure how many kph I was over the speed limit there, but I figured it would be better than hitting the bike or risking another stall and having the cars behind crash into me.
    Bottom line: Don’t get embarrassed. Learning manual is an essential skill and you chose a great car for it. The older Hondas are indestructible. In a few weeks, finding the bite point on the clutch and shifting smoothly will become second nature and you’ll be so grateful you stuck with it.

    In the England, you have to get either a manual or automatic liscense, although no one over learns on an automatic and will do the manual test. It seems the US has wayy more automatics in general - seems like a shame to me tbh. Glad to see your'e learning and keeping it going, a much more fun way to drive!!

I drive mine all the time and racked up 25k miles on it, nearly stress-free. It never left me stranded and I had to only replace wear items (clutch and timing belt) during my ownership
    Unsure if this is your first car or whatnot, but if you fix her up you'll definitely love it over time. They truly are underrated cars.

    little trick.. when ur parking put it in 1st instead of neutral and you dont have to use e-brake (when the engine is already off) just dont forget to put it in neutral when ur starting the car.. its also good in winter when the e-brake can freeze easily ....But when ur parking on a hill use also the e-brake :)

    A few things to try and help you on your journey:
    Good luck!

    I was in your same shoes man.... i noticed your moving to fast with it and you may be taking things to fast. go to a parking lot and just super slowing disingange the clutch. its a honda so it'll be fine, but get used to where that engagement point is and spend some time in parking lots.

  • @ville-petteri4584
    @ville-petteri4584 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

    Way more calm and youll handle it. From my point of view you keep yanking the clutch up way to fast. Theres no rush, take your time. The car also seems to be on its last few legs. learning manual on a worn clutch sure makes it a lot more difficult.

      Thanks, yeah I was in the bad habit of dumping the clutch

  • @vb7200
    @vb7200 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Props to you for showing yourself learning, everyone has to go through this stage. Easiest way to learn the clutch is to sit in an empty parking lot and left it out as slow as you can til you hear the engine start to bog, the hold for a sec. Try and remember that spot. Do this a few times in a row and try to do it a little faster. Once you have a good feel on where that is, get to that point and start letting it out slow again, eventually the car will start to creep. Push the clutch in once you just barley start rolling and repeat like you did for step one. This will help you learn where your bite point is and where to start pushing the gas pedal.

    A lot braver than me when I started! What I did, I went to an empty parking lot and when I got 10 starts no stalls in row without fail, I told myself that would be enough practice for me to take it home. Took about 100 tries to get it 10 times in a row without failure, and I remember the feeling of "was this a mistake?" But I pushed through those feelings, and I am sure glad I did. I been in that same car ever since; a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek that I picked up back in 2019. Watching this video definitely brought me back to those days of learning and the feeling of embarrassment when say drivers are behind you and you stall. Push through, and one day manual driving will become second nature to you, and it will come naturally. You will actually start to seek other opportunities to drive other manual cars, just to experience something new/different.
