Lmao holy fuck you either are a natural at this shit or you’re not 😂 I remember my buddies uncle let us drive his Subaru back in 2017 when I was 16 and I’ve never driven stick before that just dirt bikes and he told me just think of it like a dirt bike just slowly release till you feel the grab and feather that throttle and slowly give into it. Stalled the subie less times than I did my current daily a 92 Chevy k1500 5.7 nv3500 5sp. Truck did have a massive fuel pressure issue due to to the filter being clogged, drove it like that till last week actually and it drives so much better 🤣 found the truck for my coworker for $500 two states away, he brought it back, put a new front clip on it, a new bed, cowl hood, rear bumper, we did the clutch, I did the rockers and cab corners, and the leaf spring hangers and shackles along with adding 1 ton springs. He got tired of it and wanted to find a 1 ton, so he gave me the truck since my other shit box was just killing me on gas ( a 93 gmc suburban lol) he gave me the truck and I blew the diff. Old man forgot to fill the diff after I asked him lol. So I swapped that out, Had to steal the steering column from my suburban for the thing, fixed the taillights and turn signals not working. In a car that has problems? That’s how you teach them how to do things you shouldn’t.
Something is wrong with the transmission so you need to slam it into the gear to get it to go in? That’s what they’re going to do when they buy their first proper car with a perfectly fine transmission
Brakes are bad so you have to really push on them to slow down effectively? That’s what they’ll do in their first proper car and they’ll probably get pulled over for almost making someone rear-end them

No this is not how you learn. You get someone who knows how to drive manual to teach you. You learn first by using your left leg to get used to where the bite point is on the clutch, you don’t drive a shitbox where you have to jiggle the gear stick constantly for whatever weird reason, you get someone to tell you that when you decide to start driving that you should always disengage your handbrake. There is so much wrong with this video.

Crying of laughter. This was me driving my mom’s 2002 Ford Focus wagon for the first time after getting my license. I managed to stall it close to 10 times at one intersection. Then I got even more nervous and kept trying to drive off with the handbrake still engaged. I was praying for no further stop signs or red lights on my way home. Hearing your labored breathing put me right back in the driver’s seat that day. I had many cars behind me and saw a bicycle approaching from the right. I decided right there sorry, not gonna yield to you today, my guy! And so I went from creeping in second gear to going full throttle in fourth. Not sure how many kph I was over the speed limit there, but I figured it would be better than hitting the bike or risking another stall and having the cars behind crash into me.
Bottom line: Don’t get embarrassed. Learning manual is an essential skill and you chose a great car for it. The older Hondas are indestructible. In a few weeks, finding the bite point on the clutch and shifting smoothly will become second nature and you’ll be so grateful you stuck with it.

This video is hilarious, no make of car in title, the heavy breathing as you continuously stall, the rattles and creaks of this piece of shit car. Actual art.
Edit: This comment gained some traction so heres a few things to help the OP or anyone learning manual:
    1) Get someone who knows manual to take the car on a little test drive, if theres something wrong with the clutch or any other issues you might not realise as you don't know what "right" feels like.
    2) Watch English Driving Instructors as we all learn manual over here so they know how to teach it more effectively than a lot of the American vids I've seen - I highly recommend "Conquer Driving"
    3) If you do stall just leave it in first and push the clutch down and restart the engine, no need to go into neutral.
    4) Just practice on a car park (parking lot) setting off and moving. Don't be afraid to ride the clutch a bit, it's not gonna do any damage if you're at a reasonable RPM, it's what the clutch is designed to do!
    5) Don't try to set off quick at junctions (intersections), stop signs etc. Just take it easy and go slowly, if you try to go quickly at the beginning you're way more likely to stall.
    Good luck!

Glad to see people still learning stick. It will be second nature soon. People wont like you stalling now, but in a few months you can flex on them with some heel toe down shifts.
Also to add on to what others have said: You can feel where the Clutch engages and disengages by slowly pushing the clutch in and out. The car can be off to get the feel for it aswell. The peddle should get a little stiffer/heavier when the clutch is engaging. Also make sure your pushing the clutch all the way in when disengaging.
But dont let other drivers discourage you. Learning another way to drive will make you a better driver overall. Keep it up.

here is a tip: Because it is a 4 stroke engine car, leave it in first when you stop and put the clutch in, and spend some time learning clutch control. every car is slightly different, so even if you had experience with another car, it would still take time to get used too. Nice to see an american bothering to learn stickshift though. Here in the uk, most people drive stick, but I hear most americans have given up on it, which is dumb. Its fun.

A few things to try and help you on your journey:
    Good luck!

Loved this video buddy, I know exactly how you feel. Learned in a Vauxhall Corsa shit box from 2003. There's nothing more rewarding than when it finally clicks. Manuals are so much more rewarding to drive and they all have personality. Best of luck to you man

I'm from Germany and this makes me glad that the cars used in driving schools are manual cars here. If you want to learn driving with an automatic car you are legally only allowed to drive an automatic car. It get's noted in your drivers license.
Everything in this video went well and it was harmless stalling. However, letting people learn driving a manual car on public roads in traffic without a driving teacher is an extremely bad idea. If someone with little experience messes up their shifting in strong traffic going fast speeds it is a massive danger to everyone. This shouldn't be allowed in any country that cares about traffic safety.
Still, love to the video poster for learning how to have actual full control over a car (something you will never have with an automatic car). Btw. old cars are horrible to learn manual. Try a manual car from after 2010. It's like two different worlds. modern cars are incredibly easy to shift.

Way more calm and youll handle it. From my point of view you keep yanking the clutch up way to fast. Theres no rush, take your time. The car also seems to be on its last few legs. learning manual on a worn clutch sure makes it a lot more difficult.

I was in your same shoes man.... i noticed your moving to fast with it and you may be taking things to fast. go to a parking lot and just super slowing disingange the clutch. its a honda so it'll be fine, but get used to where that engagement point is and spend some time in parking lots.

Huge respect to this guy driving a stick shift in a ****box but keep it up you will be insane at manual transmission! (like my dad driving manual for 14 years)

Oh this was a good laugh. I was literally thinking "is the handbrake stil- yes, yes it is". For me, learning manual was all about finding the bite point, and developing muscle memory from there. Good luck!
