I used to live in Mesquite and had to drive to work through Plano, Richardson, etc. so I know this area pretty well. I DO NOT miss being in traffic during storms while in the Metroplex. I always cut my lights on when I knew a storm was coming. Saw too many wrecks on 635, I-30 and I-75!
This area looks really familiar. I grew up in Arlington. I remember when I lived there we got some hellified storms, biggest thunderstorms I have ever seen.

Sorry about zombifying this thread, but I did find out that the law in Texas requires you to turn on you lights when visibility is less than 1000 ft. (approx. 300m). Visibility in the video is less than 100 ft. (maybe 50 ft.) at certain points in this video. I was looking at the high beam law because people here love to drive around with their high beams on. Just FYI, if you have your high-beams on in Texas, you must dim them when oncoming traffic is within 500 ft., or within 300 ft. when approaching from the rear.
Its one of my biggest frustrations with drivers.. If it's raining or even just dark and gloomy.. Turn on your freaking headlights!! 😝🤪😫🤣 it's not that hard people!!! 😁

In adverse weather if I see someone without headlights on, I flash my headlights at them and turn my headlight off and back on. Sometimes they get the message sometimes they don’t and sometimes they ignore it

This reminds me of the time my family went on vacation and we drove through Birmingham Alabama and it was pouring just like this couldn't see two feet in front of you it was bad no hail just rain and lightening it was a severe thunderstorm

You should look into getting rain repellent. It beads off the water off the glass around the car so you can se better and it is a good product to have.

Looks like a small or coin size hail. Usually windscreen or windshield can withstand that size but when it starts to increase in size like a golf ball size to tennis ball size that’s where it can crack the glass on your windshield
We had big a baseball size hit wylie tx on April 11 2016 we was in our white truck when it came up on 1st here in wylie tx everyone it's not cool when a storm comes it's a nightmare we had windows broken and the white truck was damaged and the hearse and reaper had damaged too
