Searched this out because our school buses were hauled by Loadstars like this. Drivers rarely used first gear, but the landscape & roads are mostly flat here. Love hearing the IH V-8 roar. The bus drivers weren't trying to baby them.
That cab is in really great shape. You can put the heads from a 345 on the 392 and get a performance gain. They are not a perfect line up, but real close.
Holey smokes! Another truck from Waunakee, Wi. I owned their engine #3('62 V-196) for about ten years! The horn switch allowed either the horn or siren to be operated by the driver. Good score!
It’s supposed to be done this week sometime. I still haven’t gotten confirmation on weather the new transmission has the defective part in it or not. I’m hoping that’s something that ram knows and doesn’t just put a transmission in my truck and hope for the best. Lol.
If I’m not mistaken that’s where this truck originated. It was sold to a local fire department here in Kentucky where it served until they retired it and sold it. I bought it from the gentleman who purchased it from the fire department.
I remember that sound going to school when I was a kid
@@timmensch3601 For sure! Good times! 👍🏻

That’s cool These were and still are awesome trucks! I have a few plans for this one! Lol.
@@MountainMindsetthey gained a bad reputation of starting stubble fire in this part of the country, mainly cause the crossover pipe was too low,

Just don't lean on the doors. They are notorious for opening even with them locked.
Thanks for the tip! Now I’m gonna need a seatbelt! 🤣

Is this in Appalachian territory
Yep! Eastern Kentucky!
"Waunakee Tanker" - what's that? There's a city, Waunakee, north of Madison, Wisconsin. The city's slogan is, "There's Only One Waunakee"

The loadstars weren't bad looking, but the S series were better styled IMO,however the 9400i,and prostars look like POS throwaways
The butterfly hood versions are unique. Looks like the nose of a cat.
