    Pop said this in a different way and it's TRUE... the 3 is a good part of the game but the post game is dying and only a few centers still have talent down there

      @adamv9892 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pop just can’t adapt. Like Bacons Strip said it’s more skilled now. Before there were trash 7 footers in the league just because they could rebound and block a shot, that shit doesn’t fly anymore.

      Domo Jones I’m not saying it doesn’t work I’m just saying it’s a lot less prevalent so there’s less importance placed on it. Over time it’s gonna get phased out

      curry is a great driver and off the ball movement player...the 3 point while easily the most deadly part of his game, is not all of his game. he is also a tremendous passer.

    • @back2back379
      @back2back379 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The other parts of Curry's game contribute to him being the greatest 3 pt shooter. Why do you think Steve Kerr wasn't Steph Curry? Cause although he was one of the greatest 3 pt shooters, he didn't have any of the other abilities of Steph, whether it's ball handling skills, scoring abilities, athleticism, passing ability, etc. Why do you think Steve Novak is out of the league despite being able to shoot lights out (career 43% 3P shooter)? The point being made is that a lot of kids are just shooting 3s nowadays and not realizing the importance of developing a lot of other fundamentals.

    When Cal was the only one recruiting one-and-done's, he was made out to be the guy destroying college basketball. Now everybody's doing it and it's okay. If Cal does it, it's wrong; if Coach K does it, it's okay. I always appreciated Cal for being real and getting players what they wanted - a way to the NBA.

      They both understand basketball to the highest degree curry changed the game in shooting just like Jordan changed the game in dunking but for these kids to think that shooting gets you in the NBA they just need to be told 99.9 % of them are not good enough to be in the NBA

    • @hail-maryj5333
      @hail-maryj5333 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You NEED to be able to shoot in today's league, unless you're physically gifted like a Lebron or Giannis. N most kids aren't physically gifted like those guys. So yea, in today's league, being able to shoot from mid range n 3pt range is almost a MUST if you want to last in the NBA.

    Forget lack of computer programming skills. Our youth's real problem is that they are taking to many 3 pointers and not developing post skills.

    • @adamv9892
      @adamv9892 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      T. Thomas why do they NEED post skills? Obviously the more they know the better but the days of an offense set up around post ups are long gone. Shooting is much more valuable

    Shooting 3’s is basketball. So yes shooting 3’s makes them better. Once everyone can shoot 3’s some other skill will be undervalued and someone will become great at that then that will be the new thing

      A lot of players that go to Kentucky end up better pros than college players. Cal asks them to play a role and stick to it. You see a lot more of the skills they possess in the NBA. Kentucky players that you saw a lot more of in the NBA:
      1. Anthony Davis
      2. Karl Anthony Towns
      3. Devin Booker
      4. Eric Bledsoe
      5. Trey Lyles
      6. Brandon Knight
      I didn't name players like Boogie, Jamal Murray, John Wall, Knox, Alexander, and MKG because they played the same way in college as they play now. They weren't limited in college. So Kentucky players usually have a lot of growth potential if they can make the league.

    • @bigpapi2658
      @bigpapi2658 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hero has issues with his shot and taking too long. In HS with smaller slower players it didn’t show. In college, it did. Cal has broke him down like he does all his players. He breaks them down to make sure their foundation is strong. Teaches them how to play and succeed at the next level. That’s why is takes until March to start showing progress. Look at the Duke Kentucky game. Kentucky was trying to learn to play properly as a team they were all goofy and stumbling around like they’ve never played basketball before. Duke just went out there and played street ball. No plays or anything. Kentucky look good in the Bahamas because they just played street ball. Cal didn’t have a chance at that point to teach them anything. Now, after many months they finally understand how to play basketball. They are defending the three, help defense, finding the smart shot, etc... when they leave, they have the foundation to build on. Unfortunately some of the players take longer to get it, but when they do, then they are ready to succeed.

    • @kylechandler9711
      @kylechandler9711 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tyler Herro is really good he's just not scoring 30 pts a game bc Cal gets them to share the ball. Watch him play a full game, he knows how to play the game without having the ball in his hand. Play's good D, can shoot, pass and handle the ball. Also he avgs 16 pts a game in true road games so he scores when the team really needs him to.

    • @tobiasj2455

      He's fine. Playing much better defense. Getting his points, and shooting almost 90 percent from the free throw line.

    John is a good coach but not great evetime he loses it is excuses he needs to hold his players accountable and expect more out of them don't just tell me there young Most blueblood programs are young they lose many players to the draft and restock he has had the talent to win national championships every single year I don't expect him to do so every year but he has only won one and lost to Kansas state last year in the sweet 16 he makes 8 million dollars a year and is praised for being a great head coach but he simply isn't at least not yet
