Just think if a farmer was forced to sell, because of iht the farmer next door would probably be in the same position and may not be able to buy the land. So starmer is getting people on his side like Blackrock , and gates and Arla to buy up farmer land and put sola on it. The food what gets imported, don't meet the same standards as uk food. None farmer just don't understand, the bigger picture. Who wants to see farms gone and replaced with sola and factory farms making terrible food!!
The problem I have is the few farmers near me don’t sell to us little folk . I’m trying to buy fresh veg and meat in bulk and I can’t , my local “farmers market “ is a glorified craft fair as again not much fresh food is sold ! There needs to be ways we can support them directly
YES - the problem is farmer’s markets & farm shops are extremely expensive (plus are not wide-spread either). I tried to find farmers selling meat boxes but the delivery cost is £10-16 (with a budget of £25 pw for food theres no way I can afford that).
Even when you do get fresh fruit and vegetables in the supermarket there still seems to be a problem with the distribution it’s never really farm fresh and never really really lasts as long as it should
Where are they planning to import from ? California was a big supplier to the US, Spain were big supplier to the rest of Europe. Both have had severe set backs this year due to the weather, so the rest of the US / Europe are all going to be scrabbling for the remaining crops, so there will be very little to export to the UK
American chicken isn't allowed to be imported already as it is washed in chlorine (bleach). Anyway - how can it be cheaper to import chicken across a continent and the atlantic ocean? Or from Polanfor that matter?
You are so true Ana - have you also noticed the quality of the fresh veg/fruit you can get seems a lot worse as well? It goes off really quickly - seen this from Waitrose, Morrisons and Lidl .... it's like we are getting the foreign dregs or they are lying about picked/sold dates .....
I’m retired retail and I’ve noticed the supermarket shelves are definitely “lighter” the toilet roll fiasco of 2020 would seem very insignificant if items of food became unavailable, as for the availability of cheap vegetables just before Christmas, personally I can’t see that happening this year. As for the farmers being offered a discount to eat their own produce, I don’t think there will be many takers.
If it's microwave popcorn you better do your research because the bag interiors you cook the popcorn in have been linked to cancer and brain inflammation. Teabags are the same with the microplastics they contain.
I'm a Lidl shopper. They are a "just in time" stocker. Fortunately for us, our local Lidl hasn't yet shown any "missing" items. I'm topping up almost immediately after using something to keep permanently topped up. Import reliance is a very dangerous game. Surprising how people have already forgotten supply issues due to the 2020 debacle and Ukraine war. We could be held to ransom over supply and prices. Isn't one of the first steps in any war cutting off supplies? Side note: Didn't Bill Gates, in an interview, predict another 2020 incident during 2025? You know, the same guy who was cosying up with Farmer Harmer, and funded the original work on anti cow farts (rumin8) which is basically the same thing as bovaer. 🤔 The countries self sufficiency could be tested again!
Speaking with many years experience in procurement (including importing items), the biggest problem with JIT (Just In Time) is that it doesn't take much to change it to JTL (Just Too Late).

The driver said their supplier had let them down. So this is a reality!!!! Luckily I got some fruits from Lidl and Aldi. So glad I'd left myself some leeway.

This time it’ll be worse than - what? I don’t ever recall any shortages at Christmas. I recall threats of them (the number of times we’ve been told there’ll be no sprouts due to weather conditions during the year is just ridiculous) - but they’ve never materialised. I’m really getting tired of it all. If the day comes when there ARE no sprouts, so what? Eat cabbage instead, for goodness’ sake, you won’t die…and realistically, no-one in this country is going to starve any time soon. People are just used to having what they want whenever they want, which is why this utter nonsense continues.
If you actually watch the video you would not be asking the question ! Worse than few weeks ago when farmers stoped supplying to some supermarkets! And saying if no sprouts eat cabbage, what cabbage ? If farmers are not supplying the winter veg then there will be no cabbage either. And in fact the way we are going , most of us will be starving within the next few years! You just need to get head out of the sand and familiarise yourself with agenda 2030! Just saying
@@AnasFoodLifestyleI've been forewarning people for years and all they see is food on the shelves and being so used to having everything at their fingertips never think that worldwide famines can be a reality, having being paying attention for many years of the extreme weather events (a natural cycle) and the global crop losses from these natural disasters along with deliberate sabotage of supply chains, it's absolutely certain the human population is under attack, I'd rather try and prepare the best one can knowing what is coming than being completely ignorant and unprepared. The 'untouchables' hold information of the last 6000 years and withold it from the peasants using it to their advantage, never let a crisis go to waste and so are riding on the back of this natural cycle to get rid of as many as they possibly can and through this reset like previous resets they come out on top. We are definitely facing worldwide famines for sure. Do what you can, while you can with what you've got.
Prices are going up at 20%-50% every 2 weeks for the last month. The rate of increase is nearly at Hyperinflation levels. The shelves are completely fronted no depth to supplies at all.
Since the election theres kinda been a sense of relief among many here , I dont think it wise to ever stop prepping , especially procuring food Thanks Ana ! Take care over there !
@AnasFoodLifestyle There are local farms and they sell produce roadside. I'm going to check them out, too. I'm tired of supermarkets. Remember years ago they were selling horse in the ready meals? 😩
fear not i asked chatgpt how to maximise food production on 600 squre foot useing stacked rabbits quail and aquponics it came up with a system that will feed 5 people year round
Yikes! Any idea how much time maintaining such a system would take? Like, that'd be A LOT of cages, you'll basically be working full-time! Also, cage systems are not ideal for rabbits nor quail; I have experience raising both, and both with cages as well as more natural settings. Rabbits don't seem to mind too too much, but when you put them together in a colony system they are noticeably MUCH happier and productive! Quail in battery cages are hit-or-miss: a friend of mine was having issues with his hens killing their mates, and when I had my own in a cage, they were constantly scalping each other - and I'm speaking literally here, I was constantly removing one or another into a hospital crate and some didn't make it. On the other hand, when we had as many as 60 quail in 40 square feet of housing with an attached 15x40 aviary, we never had any issues with scalping or fighting! So, I'm not saying don't try the cage system, but just be aware that they are quite a lot more work and with quail, the loss rate can be quite high. If you have the space to provide the animals a more natural setting, definitely go that route; the animals will be happier and therefore more productive, plus the daily chores and maintenance are way less :)

Yeah, the Black Rock CEO was making plans with Starmer to buy the farms cheap off the broken farmers a week or so ago.
BlackRock also are into buying houses.
