I started back a year and a half ago after 20 years away. I love the aspect of self coaching and figuring out how to get better. Filming myself really shows what I am good at and what I need to work on. Bowling on the toughest patterns is a really easy way to find where I need to improve.
Tomorrow, I'll film myself from the side. Should be interesting as I bowl one hand no thumb.
I filmed myself. I have a lot of work to do when I get back to ‘offline bowling’ (KDB Bowling 090212). Got lucky with this shot.
As a fellow bowling nerd, I really enjoyed this. The extra effort put forth to have those bullet points in the corner for each segment really helps drive the main points home.
I’m a “rollover ball side shoulder” offender and that’s my #1 problem right now, so it always helps to hear that explained in a different way than I’ve heard it before.
Thanks for the work you guys put into this presentation.
This is a fantastic instructional video Jayson! I owe a lot of my form to Brad and Kyle and their great video about this very same topic. Understanding the timing of the approach, both for a 4 step and a 5 step approach, can really unlock a bowler's game. Great job!
Glad it was helpful!
This has to be one of my favorite videos. Thank you!!
This was a great video!! Thank you for posting it. It was well planned out and I loved it! Thank you sir 😃😃
Thank you so much for this!!! This is exactly what I've been waiting for from you guys!
Hope you enjoyed it!
This was so helpful! Thanks for sharing.
I love this video! Thank you for making this! Just gave me things to keep in mind on my next practice!
So glad!
love the video, very detailed and informative analysis. Just the video I needed to work on my full approach. subbed
Thanks for the sub!
Was waiting for this
First video I’ve watched. Great info. And you have a great game. Subscribed!
Awesome, thank you!
Very informative. Going to practice and use this to help me out. 🔥
Perfect!
Great breakdown and analysis. As a 50 yr old bowler, I'm all about power through good technique and efficiency and repeatable.
new to bowling, your channel is solid, still looking around for a ball, been practicing form, still in between 1h or 2h, probably will get entry ball to figure it out. cheers, hope you get to make this kind of video for 2h!
Welcome aboard!
Great video breaking down the bowling swing. All the pros you mentioned are certainly ones I would aspire to emulate and many others. Darren’s brother Michael Tang and of course Mike Fagen. A free arm swing is more difficult to replicate consistently than I thought. Trying not to muscle it is difficult for me. It’s amazing when done correctly, how much more power, speed and rev rate it creates. Great content Jayson.
Ditto. I pitched fast-pitch softball, slingshot sometimes roundhouse or windmill so doing that starting at 8 and now really getting into bowling lm struggling big time with the relaxed shoulder and not squeezing..
Very nice analysis...the lines help tons
Great video. Also, your order is ready at Target 😁
Great video analysis and comments. Looking forward to more of the same.
Much appreciated!
Great vid. What's the fix for the wrapped swing?
This is a great analysis of how a good approach should be with all the correct timing points, and a really nice comparison between the two of you. Which software are you using? It is a really nice tool that will be helpful for me when I am coaching my players. Thanks :p
One thing I would add, is that power comes from your legs. Simo himself was quoted as saying he was focusing on his legs in his approach, so it's wise to listen to the pros. That power step before you plant is where the power comes from, not your arm. Trying to use your arm to generate power is how you defeat ball motion.
Love this comment! Thanks for watching
Awesome video!
Thanks!
Great video.
got that same problem with the swing behind my back. I can't shake it, always seems like my arm is just follows the plane of my shoulders. so when my shoulders ponit more right my ball goes behind my back.
You’ve become tied to my favorite bowler with Kyle Sherman. Thank you so much for this!!
LETS GOOOOO
Kyle is a 🐐
@@RevItUpBowling AYEEEE LETS GOOOO!! 🙏🏽❤️ would it be okay if I sent you a video to analyze ? Or next time you’re in Houston we can shoot a tutorial?? 😅😅
We’re working on doing online lessons and analysis. I’ll let you know when we have that set up. I have no idea when I’ll be in Houston next 😂
Thumbs up and subbed.
This is an amazing video. What app are you using to review your form?
Onform
Awesome video
Thanks!
Great Video - Curious to know how you would get the swing away from behind his back ?
It mostly have to do with you swing direction on the down swing and more importantly how much you shoulders open up. Take a video and pay attention to the balls swing path and your shoulders.
Also, make sure you’re not pulling the ball down when you start the swing. A good indication that you may be muscling is when the ball gets behind your back. So you might be lifting your ball up in the back swing which can cause your shoulders to open up. Let the ball drop into your swing freely. Over exaggerate the loose arm swing. Be a noodle haha hope this helps!
I live the format of this. Was this wholly created and edited in OnForm?
It was screen recorded on Onform and then we took that and edited it all together
I can't keep my wrist cupped during the swing is it ok to cup it only in the release
Can show what are the best arrow for urethane balls...
What is the name of the program you use to record yourself and other bowlers?
is this a service that you offer? I'd totally love to work with you a bit this summer. - Nate
What app is that you’re using for the analysis?
I’m wondering the same thing
Onform
That's exactly the issue I am having right now
Great video 💯
Glad you enjoyed
Do you do online training?
I have been thinking about it. Would that be something you’d be interested in?
Someone help! For the LIFE of me I cannot figure out the “bend elbow”. Watched so many videos and tried so many things. Everytime I bend my elbow, or do the “yo-yo”, my ball speed drops down the 13.5. Why?
Good video but I wish you would show from start to finish from a side angle your entire approach you keep stopping and starting
Noted! Thanks for the comment
@@RevItUpBowling by the way it was an awesome video that's one part of my game that I know I definitely need to improve is my Approach and this video definitely helped
The high back swing the most overrated aspect of bowling period.
True I throw ablut 19 mph on release and I have a very compact swing.
But he does have a point with it being very efficient. Using gravity and travel speed to produce speed instead of relying on body motion and arm.
