  • I first wanted to write a piece a few years ago, inspired by a cardinal that I saw while taking a walk. I sadly didn't continue to write, because I didn't have a solid idea for how it would go. Fast forward to September of 2023, I wanted to attempt to compose a new original piece, and I thought back to the times I had seen a cardinal. Cardinals are a sign of luck, and are said to represent your loved ones looking down on you from above. I'd say that in the past couple years, my family and I have been extremely lucky, and we do have loved ones that, I believe, are looking down at us every day. Now, we're here, in May of 2024, and it's been 8 months since I wrote the work. I took a walk through the park earlier today, and while out there, I see a cardinal that landed in a tree, and it was sitting there on a branch, chirping. I've always wanted my own picture of a cardinal, since it's one of my favorite animals, and I had the perfect opportunity. When I put together the original video, I used a good quality picture of a cardinal that I found online, and at that time, it was good. With my own picture used in the video now, symbolizing the original inspiration that I had 3 or 4 years ago, here is my 2024 remake of my composition project, "Flight of the Cardinal". I really hope you enjoy! :)

Hey I am sorry that on my newest piece I used the same name as this piece. I had not realized that until after publishing it. I must have previously seen yours and forgot about it in the back of my head and thought I was using an original name. I can change the name if you would like. I am sorry about this.

I actually just listened to your piece, and I am perfectly okay with you using the title! I'd like to think of your piece as an image of a cardinal just enjoying its day. Great job! :)

@@johnnytheyoungmaestro thanks i enjoyed your piece too especially how it keeps you captivated all the way through. You should conduct Sparks by Brian Balmages it has some parts that would be pretty fun to conduct I think

@@cptsmuge2283 I appreciate it a ton, and I'll have to give the piece a listen and a practice. I'm always looking for new pieces to conduct. I really enjoyed writing "Flight of the Cardinal", but the key change at the end of the piece was actually very difficult to write.
