This was a ton of fun, bro. These predictions are great! I hit you with that "Relive" title concept a couple weeks ago. I feel like I need to go fill out a bingo card...
The Cloud / Zack bro flashbacks got me thinking, what if in part 3 there are memory points around the map? You go to the point and Cloud will have a flashback of his time as an infantryman which of course will include a lot of Zack. You come across these memory points organically as you're playing the game until eventually you get to the last one which will be the recreation of the optional scene of Cloud and Zacks escape from Nibelheim which leads to his death from the OG game. Now I dont think this will happen mainly because I think they are going to make that scene mandatory and will likely include it in the lifestream sequence but it still would be cool nonetheless
Loved most of your predictions especially, "Definitive ending similar to OG will not lead into Advent Children". The only two I would like to see is Cait Sith telling Cloud his last fortune telling reading (from the OG) about how the stars think Aerith and Cloud should be together. Depending on how the narrative goes it'll either be really depressing or could be something else entirely. I also want it to be confirmed that the commander is Elena's older sister.
Bro, I love each and any of your picks here. If SE goes on half of it, the next game will already be incredible. The ones that got me most excited were Eikonic weapon battles (yes Eikonic it's officially a term to refer to the most fantastic battles of the video game history till today) and free swapping characters on battles. Love your ff7 content, can't wait to see more!
I think it will be L2+R2 to let Aerith go because Rebirth liked to have you press the triggers representing your 2 hands, such as when Cloud crawled forward in the intro, and when Cloud is holding his sword over Aerith at the end.
In real time as I recorded this you can see how I end up thinking its a cool idea haha I like it as a mechanic showing that Cloud and the player have finally found acceptance
I agree with almost everything on your list lol, and thanks for the shout out! I think my podcast theory was that we would open with the Advent Children final fight scene with Sephiroth being defeated, then it follows him and starts explaining his side of the story (how is he from the future, etc). Huge respect to Joshiepoo and others for proposing the multiple endings idea. However I agree with you on this, I am not a fan. (1) Historically they don't do multiple endings well. I was not a fan of FFX-2 having multiple endings and only one gave satisfaction. FFXIII-2 had a bunch of endings but there was one clear true ending, and they took that clear ending for Lightning Returns. (2) The original ending was up to interpretation, but it was definitive. Advent Children was also definitive. Multiple endings do not seem to fit in the FFVII universe. Even this Remake trilogy points to a definitive ending. Though these different worlds are giving that "multiple ending" feel, the worlds are temporary and Sephiroth wants the reunion of worlds. In fact, if they were going to do multiple endings, the ending of Rebirth would have been a perfect time to start. But they did not, because that would have been a cop out and it would have felt out of place.
On a side note in regards to "swapping party members mid-battle ffx style"- since we can assume that everyone will be playable, perhaps we'll acquire side members to act as non-playable characters during combat, such as npcs you may meet along the way. These characters will help very little in combat, mirroring how your sidelined characters act in Rebirth. You can see them helping in the distance but they are not playable. Some of the other avalanche members from the Yuffie DLC come to mind.
I think we're all overthinking the title. Just like One Winged Angel in Remake which ended with Rebirth, in Rebirth - the One Winged Angel theme ended with the title "Reborn." Rebirth - a new or second birth. A renewed existence, activity or growth; renaissance or revival. Reborn - having undergone rebirth. Born as if, born again - especially as if having undergone spiritual regeneration. Cloud as a whole, will be reborn after Tifa helps in fixing his mind. Guess the same can be said for Sephiroth too in a sense. Can't wait!
For your mid-battle party swapping idea, they should copy FFXIII's Paradigm Shift menu, where these are groupings you've setup ahead of time in the menu, so for example: Slot 1 you've saved: Cloud + Tifa + Barret Slot 2 you've saved Yuffie + Barret + Vincent and you can setup additional slots, and swap using the tactical menu
I also agree with highwind-highground... like dq 8 (the first 3d ps2 one) where you could only access certain mountain tops once you got flight capabilities near the end game.
REMEMBRANCE It's literally the thing Cloud must do, and in two different ways. 1) The remembrance (meaning ritual honoring the dead) of Aerith by Cloud 2) The remembrance of Cloud's true identity/past They used this word in the 2015 trailer.
Now that I've played Visions of Mana, I know for Part 3 they need to put that traversal with the double jump and multi-air dashing for platform puzzles/secrets throughout the open world
I do expect there to be a subplot of Aerith and Zack reuniting spread over the game similar to Zacks interlude in Rebirth. And while i do expect them to appear in the edge of creation to fight Sephiroth along side Cloud and the gang at the end, prior to Clouds last duel with Sephiroth, but i don't know how you do that without "fixing" the grief and depression he feels in the middle of OTWTAS and in AC, because if he gets to see them and know that they are "fine" in the spirit realm at the end, then there is really no cause for him to be so depressed later on? Seeing them at the church in AC is litterally the first time he is able to actually see their faces as Zack waves good bye and Aerith tells him everything is ok, to which he finally forgives himself for their deaths and allows himself to once again open his heart to his family. So my assumption is that they'll be there, but will have minimal contact with Cloud personally. Like the church battle with Zack may include Aerith as they fight on another dimension at the same time, but Cloud doens't get to meet them (or atleast not more than a fiew glances)
Love the idea that Cid hasn’t been back to Rocket Town. It makes sense with how he’s presented in Rebirth. Do you think it will be the huge material that brings him back home or will he have to go back earlier? I ask because I feel like Rocket Town and its surrounding area would be a good opportunity for new exploration early on before we get the Highwind and access to all the regions from Rebirth
That's a really good question! I agree with you that Rocket Town Region would be good to explore before Highwind traversal. I think he'll be forced to return home. The mission to blow up Meteor would be a reason he couldn't escape from or if sooner in the story, maybe Shinra has occupied by town or something. Definitely something I want to think more on and maybe make a video on this topic!
@@FinalFanTV A Rocket Town video would be great! And I’m very curious where they’re going to start the party off in part 3. At the end of Rebirth, Cid fixes the Highwind so I don’t see why they wouldn’t fly directly to Icicle Inn. But that skips exploring the whole northern continent’s open world. I feel like Rocket Town would be a good starting point but with the Tiny Bronco now able to fly, I’m not sure what their reasoning might be for going there right after the temple
They're going to be careful with the materia theft some people can't let go of it nearly 30 years later. I think they'll try to make Yuffie more sympathetic doing it out of desperation due to Wutai losing the war badly.
next time you do a video on part 3 possible new locations and you also add what summons may be in that area for example Shiva most likey in north crater, knight of round on round island, wuti lev and so and so on
As much as I hate to say it -- as I'm not a multi or mmorpg man -- Gold Saucer player-vs-player would be fan-fucking-tastic! It would almost merit it's own stand-alone game. Let's have dance-offs in the mix as well... hahaha -- what's her name, thief girl, can proto/fake Hatsuni Miku or whoever : - )
My big prediction is that Cloud killed Aerith. Throughout the entire game(especially in the temple of the ancients) Cloud loses control of his body to Sephiroth. The only one who witnessed Aerith’s death was Cloud, and WE KNOW that isn’t reliable. I think that scene is going to be another Nibelheim flashback-style reveal where we learn that Cloud’s portrayal of events was wrong. THAT is how you make Aerith’s death more impactful even for long time fans. Watching the scene back I think everything lines up. Sephiroth even tells Cloud right after “How can you ever hope to know the truth with such clouded eyes.” And if this doesn’t happen in part 3 then Nomura found out I was onto him and changed it🤡
Will Remake even get a sequel at this point? Does Square really want to lose money after Rebirth flopped? If they are smart, they will have some mystic character show up to talk to Cloud and give him an ultimatum: do you want to see how this new story ends, or play a remastered third act of Final Fantasy 7? They ought to have given the player this choice before Aerith's death; save her to continue the Remake story, or let her go to play the regular FF7.
Remake part 3 video?! I’ve been awakened from my hibernation to watch. I’m here I’m awake. Then going straight back to sleep til part 3 comes out.
