I made this bread with my new Kitchen-aid mixer and followed your directions and video while I made it, and this loaf was perfect and tasted just like any bread I could buy in a bakery. The loaf was so soft and sliced like a dream. I let it cool completely and wrapped it in pure linen and put it my cake dome. Thank you for a perfect demonstration!!!…from Texas
Thanks for the video. I’ve an old guy who’s been making bread like my Mother taught me 60 years ago and have always hand kneeled it. I just was given a Kitchen Aid mixer and thought I’d try to make it the modern way.
I bought the Kitchenaid mixer to make bread because I have bad hands and couldn't knead it ,I looked on youtube to find out how to make it in this mixer came across your video and now my bread turns out perfect. The only thing for me not sure if others had the same problem (like I said I have bad hands) is after I was done I couldn't twist the bowl off the mixer ,I guess it was from the force of the dough going around lol ,anyway now what I do is put a little lard on the base where the bowl tightens and it comes off easier.
I made a mistake and added 2 cups of milk to this recipe. It turned out to be the most wonderful mistake I could have made because it turned out to be the best loaf of bread I've ever made! Very moist and delicious.
I watched another video for dutch oven style and it was a nightmare to mix the dough using the dough hook, mixing it first with the beater and THEN switching to the dough hook to knead makes SO much more sense. Thank you! Can't wait to try this recipe for loaf style.
We just bought our first stand mixer and this was the first recipe we made! Thank you for the nice, simple, clear instructions. And for the adorable way you pronounce “measure”. Now my kids and I always say it like that now when we’re cooking! 🤗
Something about Mrs. Nina seems very wholesome, and kind, and I really enjoyed watching this video. My wife and I just got a stand mixer, and are looking forward to making some bread. Watching this gives me the confidence to succeed. Thanks Red Star!
been baking bread for years, but you had good tips, and I just got a kitchen aid mixer, trying tomorrow, you well very concise and enjoyed watching, thank you
I tried this recipe yesterday, it is the first bread I have ever made in my life, it turned out really great, I found your instructions really easy to follow, Thank you
So glad to have found this video. So many other videos on here either use scales to measure ingredients (which the average person does not have) or they use metric measurements which make no sense to those in the USA. Addendum: I have tried this recipe now 3x and each time it turned out perfectly. I do however proof in a regular oven and not the microwave. At the beginning of mixing I set oven temp to 180F and once temperature is reached I immediately shut off the oven off. By the time all the mixing is done, it's the perfect temp inside for proofing.
Thank you for sharing. Took 20 pages to find someone that just got right down to it and explained how to make bread. So much useless banter on the internet these days.
I have been baking bread for many years using different recipes, the first and my go to was ATK sandwich bread, this recipe is faster, easier and tastier. My now go to recipe. Wish I had found it sooner. Many thanks red star!
I made this recipe yesterday. The only change I did was to use buttermilk. The recipe was easy to follow and the bread turned out delicious! I can't wait to double the recipe so I can freeze one for later.
I really liked this video as it helped me with my first attempt at bread making in 20+ years. Very detailed! I had my tablet in my kitchen and fast forwarded and went backward many times in my venture into bread making. It came out well and I'm looking forward to more loaves of bread in my future. This loaf was pretty good!
I agree with the other comments this was a great easy to follow video. I’ve watched so many and this method worked best especially if you have a stand mixer! Thanks!
She doesn’t say how much total flower overall, she just says add some more. Can you please enlighten me as to the total flour. I’ve never baked before.
I have tried your recipe a few different times now and as I am a beginner I have to say you made it very easy to follow and the bread is delicious. Thank you I also wonder can you double this recipe to make two loaves ?
Just made this, my first time making bread. Super good everyone loves it. I didn’t have any bread flour so I used all purpose, it came out a little dense, but I think it might be the pan I used. I used a glass pan slightly smaller than in the video. Ordering better bread pans and bread flour for next time! Very easy directions, thank you!

Thank you for your tutorial ! I just bought a Kitchen aid mixer … can’t wait to try it . You made your video so it so easy to follow! Will be my first try !
Great video. I just bought a Kitchenaid and made ciabatta bread by Paul Hollywood's recipe but I have no clue if I did the conversions correctly. Think I need to stay with American measurements. Thaks.
I've made this recipe multiple times and I really like how easy it is. 1 thing I've noticed with mine is after I get done kneading it my dough ball is still a little gooey and doesn't all stick to the paddle like hers. Should I add even more flour? I'm currently adding the 2 and a half cups and then and additional half a cup through the mixing till it peels from sides of bowl.
To say that i am pleased with my kitchenaid artisan is an understatement!! th-cam.com/users/postUgkxV-4_UFTAJEegRY8I2jrpCEthOr39izrZ I have had it for 3 months now, and i wonder how i baked without it!! It has plenty of power, it is easy to use, is very secure on your counter and has a new type of splash guard that is wonderful. With all the color options, you can find one that will look beautiful on your counter. This machine comes with a deep 5qt bowl that locks into its base for secure mixing, so you never have to worry that the bowl will "spin away" while you move away from the machine. It can handle the lightest whipped cream or the heaviest bread dough with ease. There are only two drawbacks to this machine, and they are minor. One, it only comes with one bowl, and secondly, you have to be careful not to overbeat some batters. This machine is strong. If you like to bake, and you buy anything but a kitchenaid, you will probably be disappointed!
I am in the process of making this recipe right now. I told you instructions pretty exactly what is the first time I have made bread using a stand mixer it rolls, but it did not rise nearly as high as yours did so I'm letting approve a little bit more and then I'm gonna put it in the oven and just go with whatever I get but I like the way you did the bread Dell also my yeast was dated as expiring this month, so is it OK to use the yeast? If it's you use it in the last month it's good for.
Trying this right now on 4/19/20- let’s hope it looks like yours! So far so good, in the first set waiting for it to rise. Yeast is so hard to find right now 😳 thank you for the easy-to-follow instructions 🥰
Tatiana Rivera it turned out perfect!!! I was confused with the kneading part- I don’t have the instructions in front of me, but it was spot on 👍🏻 I now have to make my mom and mother in-law a loaf 😂 I also used a glass loaf pan and all-purpose flour (not sure if it called for bread flour)...I will always use this recipe now 🥰
The time has come again to start making bread at home... About 2 weeks ago I seen a loaf of bread at safeway for $10 (not even gluten free type). Then 4 days ago was shopping an seen another for $12 (it was a special type but still thats crazy) Overall i think a loaf is averaging 7 bucks a loaf.. im not sure because i make at home now. I love her recipe!! Kitchen aid is worth the investment. I basically paid it off in 6 weeks. Went to coop grocery and they are selling 6 small muffins for 7 bucks. Start baking everyone, the prices wont drop until people refuse to pay those prices.I make breads, muffins and cakes with my kitchen aid. I also make chocolaty puff wheat squares but dont need kitchen aid for that, very quick and easy to make that choco treat for the family. From Canada
thank you so much for sharing.. I've been longing for this video, coz i never succeed making bread with a standing mixer.. but thanks to you, now i know how to made one
Hi Red Star Yeast!! Love the recipe...could you do a video of a bread recipe that has like 3 to 6 seed types where the bread isnt as white as well. Hope your able to😊
thank you for the video; very clear and seems do-able for this novice baker. It looks like you dry mix on setting 2; which setting do you use for kneading, please?
I made a loaf and it came out very nice. I made a second load and the first proof was fine but the second it did not rise as much. After the first loaf is gone I will cut into it. I did use fresh ground hard white wheat.
Hi. Thanks for the video. I have a question regarding the KA dough hook attachment. Do you know why the dough will not stick to the hook? Not enough liquid, or, flour? I had good luck making bread but all of a sudden I can't keep the dough on the hook???

I've made over 10 loaves of bread with this recipe. It's become my favorite.

scales are cheap, and metric is perfect for cooking.... you can recreate, exactly, recipes over and over
