This was our first time on a plane like this and it has quickly become one of our families all time favourite experiences!

The kids will have a beautiful memory when they grow as adults, they will definitely return to visit Malaysia again in future.

Thanks for sharing that lovely trip and video. There are many places I loved and wanted to return to someday but - as Robert Frost said in his poem "...way leads on to way..." - and, sadly, I have never quite yet made it back to many places. I visited Tioman in 1992 and haven't been back since but always wanting to someday.

Hopefully you could experience the Jungle Train From KL to Kelantan. You wouldn't regret.
Actually the jungle train starts from Gemas, Negeri Sembilan to Tanah Merah in Kelantan... To get to Gemas take the ETS from KL Sentral. You can also take the jungle train from Kuala Lipis or Mentakab, but first you have to take a taxi/bus for 2.5 hr from KL

@@joycetan4684 it's good, I would say as the view is nice. But if it is me I won't take the bunk (sleeper train coach) cause I am big size, and I am not a person that sleep well through the night quietly and I am a bit claustrophobic (I've taken the slow train to singapore when I was young, as my cousins and I are all young girls our parents didn't allow us to travel in the sleeper coach, and the private cabin were all full so we opt for the seat).
For shorter train travelling time, I should say you take the other options instead of taking the train in gemas. You will have the chance to explore the towns of Lipis or Temerloh/Mentakab..
I too am considering to take the jungle train, acoompanying my Singaporean cousin who said he wants to do a train journey in Malaysia. Still not sure where to take it from, but one of the options is to take a taxi/bus to Temerloh, stay at desa murni kampungstay, try the patin tempoyak and also go to their morning Market, before taking a bus to Mentakab (or taxi, whichever is convenient) and take the train from there, disembark in Tanah Merah (though of the travellers always disembark earlier in Dabong), stay at Lalang Resort and Spa, visit the Jeli Kashmir and maybe cross the Thai-Malaysi border at Pengkalan Kubur-Tak Bai or Rantau Panjang-Golok

20 years or so ago, the underwater garden was just a step away from the shore. So much have been destroyed by human activities. I'm delighted to that you and your kids are having a wonderful time.

My dad's work had us living in Singapore from 1970-1973. While we were there, they joined a diving club. We made trips to the islands off the East coast of Malaysia, Tioman being one of them.
Our first trip to Tioman would have been in '72, I was 11 at the time. The adults would scuba, us kids would snorkel.
At that time, all of the resorts, golf courses, the little airport there were all just ideas on the drawing board. The locals all lived in Kampungs, no electricity, no running water, just living very much like they always had.
We used to go out to the islands on local fishing boats, usually leave at about 10:00 PM, arriving about sun up. The sights were stunning.
The old man we rented the boats from hosted us at his family home during one of the trips. A thatch house made from materials procured from the island itself.
Every day, at the end of diving, we'd wash off the salt water in the waterfalls that came down from the mountains behind the house. Every sun down, we'd fire up the Coleman lanterns for light.
I got to see this place before they turned it into the big tourist resort that it became. I'll always feel a little privileged for that.

Tioman is underrated, so many beautiful hotspot for snorkelling n diving there.. The beautiful islands of the east coast Malaysia, pulau Perhentian, Redang, Tioman🌴.. From Johor Bahru city u can drive to beautiful beach n tropical islands of the east coast just a few hours

Dulu pada tahun 1992 saya pernah menaiki pesawat ringan turbo-prop dari Pulau Tioman ke lapangan terbang Subang. There are plenty of beautiful islands with crystal clear water among east coast of malaysia like redang island, tioman island, perhentian island, lang tengah island but tioman always my first choice and i love this place very much.

Great video, we’re planning on visiting next summer! I presume you stayed on the eastern side of the island as you saw a sunrise over the sea? Did you visit the western side?
SO excited for you, yeah well spotted we're on the eastern side, which was stunning, a little sleepy, but thats why we loved it. The whole island is chill with minimal infrastructure - the west maybe has a few more tour operators / eating places - but I would recommend the east for beauty, peace, clean beaches and still has a places to eat :)

You know what, i love ur video recording, but after watching the whole video, i can barely keep the scenary in my mind but only the LOVE.....

Yes! Yes! YES!! Tioman island is my most favourite island in Malaysia. There's rock climbing as well on the island. And you could jungle trek to Juara beach and have the entire beach to yourself. Nothing beats spending the night and sleeping on that beach and getting waken up by the waves lapping on your feet as the tide comes in.
Tioman does have a very different vibe than other islands. And I think that's because there's life there. There's a school and a fire station close to the airport as well as multiple villages throughout the island. It's like a small town. Most tourists don't prefer that. Because to them it feels more like a seaside town than an island. But I personally love it.

@@limwai6808 I usually get off at Air Batang. But my favourite resort in Tioman is, I think it's called Panuba inn. Not the best resort. There's no bed, only a mattress. No furniture. BUT, it's built on a rocky cliff overlooking the sea. And if you manage to get a room high enough over the treetops, the view as you're sitting on the veranda of your room looking out at the sea as it fades and blends in with the sky like a pale blue-white canvas is surreal.

Tioman is a BIG island.
P/S: A tip on how to sleep on a beach without worrying about your belongings. Get yourself one of those waterproof bag. Dig a hole the shape of your body in the sand so you don't move around when sleeping, and dig another hole where your back would be to keep your bag and cover it with sand before you lay down.
The tide comes in early. Wake up, take a swim, float around. The water should be warm. Build a campfire, cook some instant noodles, and eat it while watching the sun rise. Best noodles in your life.

That was really helpful, I just get my OW diving license in Tioman last month at Burger dive and definitely will visit Tioman again next year !

I'm a little worried and sceptical when he unbuckled his life jacket. Until I see him swimming!!!! He's a brave boy and quick to learn at his age.
such a sweet honest thing to say, I totally get why you would feel concerned at first. He really is amazing, he really pushes him self and listens so well to his Papa - I get a little nervous seeing him doing this at 4, but have learned to trust him with his Papa 🥰

east coast of peninsular malaysia have many beautiful island but for now it still too far from kuala lumpur if want to go there by car or bus... but 3 or 4 years from now the electric train project will be complete.. at that time tourist can go to east coast more easy and fast 🙂
