    Wish me luck, just finished building a lightning bug. Waiting for a calm day to try my first discus launch. Never built or flown a model before. Thanks for the tips!

    Pleased to say after watching this I was doing it right after making the mistake of crooking the fingers round the peg on the first few launches

    Thanks for the very informative video Nick.
    The way to grip the launch peg was well explained.
    I am a bit concerned that at 70 with a delicate back that discus launch might do me in!!!
    I will stick to hi starts.
    Cannot afford hospital fees in Australia.
    Thanks mate.

      I hope you have a lovely time visiting your boy.
      I am in Queensland the sunsnine state!
      I have yet to find a decent slope as I love slope soaring.

    Hello Nick, why use a blade (which would seem to mess the aerodynamics) vs a peg/tube, as you have installed?

    • @NickChittyFlying
      @NickChittyFlying  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Full size dlg use a blade the pug comes with tube 👌

    Great video Nick, I enjoy all your build and How to videos. Before I destroy my pug I have a question about discus launch that often seem to be overlooked, How do you induce the “vertical climb”? Do you launch the plane upwards with a high angle of attack, do you add any trim or up elevator control or does it naturally hook upwards on release? (From a straight an level launch).

    • @NickChittyFlying
      @NickChittyFlying  ปีที่แล้ว

      It goes up on its own mate on full comp wings people will have an elevator preset but release on launch. this little glider doesnt require that :)
      th-cam.com/video/ToK0hrUpxxE/w-d-xo.html watch this one mate.
      the hooking is people have there finger wrapped round peg.
      just take your time mate and build up slowly
