    I thought to myself, he's a Lefty Launcher given the position of the momentary switch....Of course, the Zorro would be perfect for DLG guys...Loving my Zorro BTW, it just feels so comfortable...🤔😀🇬🇧

      Righty here, using the TX16S just for the demo. Just configured the rear push button on the Zorro as the INAV arm button, so I cant disarm by error

      @@AndrewNewton Great idea Andrew, I guess it's harder to mistake which switch is the Arming one, you're right. I've disarmed a few Kms from home in the past, but knew the landscape fortunately. I must try that myself, thanks...😀🤔👍👍🇬🇧

      FYI you might like to check out "Mike Shellim" and his OpenTx DLG templates. They are fantastically well designed complete setups with launch, zoom, speed, cruise, and thermal modes set up. Do a google for Mike. I did change my SF switch to a momentary version as I'm right handed and thus want a momentary launch switch for my left hand. I've used Mike's templates on both my Yoda DLG and on my Shinto Electric.
      p.s. love your videos Andrew, I'm a massive fan!

    Thank you for the video! I am building my first DLG right now, and I'm new to Open TX. Your little "trick" with the mixes, and setting the weight to "0" was brilliant. It may be obvious to those experienced with Open TX, but not to someone just learning. Thank you again!

      I strongly recommend you go google "Mike Shellim" and his DLG templates. They are fantastically well designed and complex setups that are exactly what you want in a DLG radio setup.

      Amazing OpenTX work from Mike, but way too complicated for my fun flying.

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Mickey, can use curves too, but offset is simpler

    • @CyclingMikey
      @CyclingMikey 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AndrewNewton Up to you entirely of course, but to take full advantage of a DLG, you'll want most of the functions Mike's setup gives. Better handling, more performance range for different situations in DLG, and just a much better flying DLG all around. A DLG setup like that offered by Mike's template is really only the start of tuning a glider - most pilots will spend hours and hours tuning the glider after that, and it's so amazing to see how much better a glider can fly after all that effort.

      Thanks for the info CyclingMikey, I checked out all the info on his DLG Template. The DLG I'm building is a Poly wing with just 3 channels, Rudder, Elevator, and Flaps. So, for now it seems to be way too much. If/when I move up to a flaperon wing, I'll give his template a try. Thanks for pointing me to a great source for more advanced models.

    Gosh, how quaint! 🙂 One always gets one's butler to launch one's DLG for one, which allows one to keep both hands on one's transmitter.
    Too much physical exertion can be jolly bad for one's complexion...

      There are no good and cheap DLGs, good ones are not cheap and cheap ones are not good. Your best bet is to get hold of a second or third hand one. I bought an ancient Validol as my first DLG and it has been a great introduction to discus launch without risking close to a thousand pounds for a good new one

      I bought a Mini Dart from Neil Harrison at Superfly. It's 1m, so easier to handle, and perhaps more robust. Thomas Lee at Armsoar strongly recommends it as a starter model. There's now an MD2, which has a bit more space in the pod, which is my only criticism of mine.
