A month ago i decided to fully teardown a seized 300 engine. I didn't take any photos because i figured such a beloved atv would have thousands of detailed videos. Turns out there was almost no videos on this engine. Then you put up this video up couple days before all the parts i needed came in. This saved me so much time not having to reference a manual for each small step. Thank you very much!
I gotta tell you, it’s been around 40 years since I rebuilt a bike engine! Thanks for the memory refresher! Since I’m currently working on a trx200 fourtrax this showed up just when it was needed!

Essentially that should be everything that I can think of off the top of my head!
With the gasket and gasket maker you didn’t run into any issues some say it will bind stuff up if you use both want to know before I do what you did step by step thanks
No problems Iv ever ran into, once you tighten everything down that gasket maker is so thin it’s honestly just there to help bond the paper gasket to the aluminum
Manual calls for 7ft lbs I just got it till the rtv started to ooz out a little let it dry for about a hour then came back and tightened it down with a 1/4in ratchet till nice and snug.
Should be fine? I’d have to see what’s really going on but it’s more then likely just normal resistance… before putting your wet clutchs in with the one way bearing, those clutchs should only move counter clockwise inside the drum if they move in both directions and or the opposite way your one way bearing is either bad or flipped and in backwards.
I like watching your videos dude but please buy a 15 dollar phone stand because it's hard to enjoy your videos while trying to assemble a engine with one hand. Jeeeeeeez
@@TylerHinton01 Stock is 180? Never saw that before, I bought a Rebuild kit and when i take cylinder off im going to look but I never put a oil ring at 180 in my life and built lots of motors
@@jasongodin7165 like I said in the video probably not the exact or probably the proper way but it’s worked for me and stilling running on this top end with zero problems and Iv sank it probably 15 times now. No exaggeration. And no doesn’t burn a lick of oil. Page 98 of the digital service manual in my description is the factory ring spec. “Space the piston ring end gaps 120 degrees apart. Do not align the gaps in the oil rings (side rails)”
I just pulled my motor apart, and you won’t believe what I found in there do me a favor add me I’m gonna share a video. Let me know what I need to do please first time I pull a motor part.

how tight did you tighten the timing chain guide too?

Thank you sir
Yessir i hope it helped!
When I put the starter gears in I can only turn the motor one way it won’t rotate the other way is that right or is something wrong
Or is that because of the one way bearing I didn’t think of that just wanted to be sure
I can spin it both ways until I put the starter gears in and then I can’t

Good job
Thank you! Gonna make a video soon, on a update with how it’s running!
