BAGUIO TO BUGUIAS MOUNTAIN ROADS - Hidden River Hot Spring (BecomingFilipino Motor)

  • I DROVE FROM BAGUIO TO BUGUIAS... BUT ON A MOUNTAIN ROAD I HAVE NEVER TAKEN BEFORE!
In this video, we leave Baguio and make our way through La Trinidad to Tublay. There, I head down off the main mountain road, and find myself driving through pine trees down into a valley. Turns out there is a local hidden hot spring in this area of Benguet. After a dip in the river hot spring, and some positive talk with a local lady, I head back along the road with my motor. Making my way through Kapangan and Kibungan... I appreciate the powerful views, and learning some fun language!
This motor vlog adventure takes us along mountain roads to Buguias. A crossroads Municipality here in Benguet. It was a beautiful drive, wonderful day, and I am just so happy to be up in the mountains of the Philippines!

Ahh.. Abatan. The town on top of the mountain ridge where the slogan "If your not living on the edge, then your taking up too much space" pronounces its true meaning. Buguias is home to many of my wife's relatives and we just came back from a visit there recently. Many familiar scenes from your drone footage. Especially the vegetable farms. You were near to some of our family's farms Mr. Kulas.

My father was from Kapangan. This little unheralded mountainous place is also where the late Bado Dangwa, the guerilla fighter and the owner of the first bus company that operated in the country was from. Although his bus company was mismanaged and is now almost run down to nothing, Dangwa's name has been immortalized or given prominence in the place where his bus station is located because it is now synonymous to a place where flowers are sold in Manila. Thank you for featuring/passing by this place.

"Titit" is bird in Kankanaey. "Bil-lit" is bird in Ilocano. "Abatan" means "meeting place" in Kankanaey.
First vlog I watched about you Kulas, was when you were in Abatan, Buguias Benguet years ago. Fast forward so grateful that you still doing what you love and be able to travel back in time showcasing for us pinoys overseas (missing home😭) trying to scroll what to watch better on YT than binge on Netflix (or pedowood). Actually if you passed by Loo Buguias they also have hot spring river there like the one you went in Kapangan. That was pawsome to find by you and I'm so amazed by only one local mother enjoying herself in nature's healing spa before Kulas dipped in fun 😂. Mankayan is mining areas also has untouched waterfalls somewhere and a local airport if you vlog one day, local tourism is often happy to help you as usual. Either way, great vlog and awesome drone presentation as always! Ingat lagi for Therine😻 & fam❣️ Blessings abundantly as you travel, I wished we are there so we could celebrate WATWAT or PATPATOK with you in a Christian born-again way, not in a pagan traditional practice 😅... hopefully one day or if you find one in the mountain I guess it will be a surprise treat for you.

@@BecomingFilipino thank you❣️ let you aware pala if you haven't, that Baguio City has Asin Hot Spring near down the river with a natural hot spring water pool not down through the river. I'm not sure if the wood carvings production are still on the side of the road when you pass by Asin Road how it used to in the past.

From what i know “Abatan” in Kankanaey means “meeting place” other word can be sabatan and it is truly a place where people and dealers from different provinces and municipalities meet to trade or just to pass by to go trade in other places.
I hope you enjoy your journey here in the mountains kuya Kulas, matago tago ka!

Hi Kyle alias "Kulas"! We have just been to Baguio and drove up the Halsema highway and when we passed Buguias it was raining all the way from Sayangan (although not sure) and was not able to do any stop there as we where on our way to Cervantes and Tagudin and further back to Solsona. We travel in our Honda city 2006 and it performs well even on the steepest roads. It was on the 19th of April. Would have liked to run into you... I have a love hate to the mountain province I like the nice cool temperature there, but hate the zig-zag roads! It's very tiring when you are not used to it. So if you make your way up here in Solsona... see you!

As a matter of fact, we have a second home in Man-Atong, in the heart of the Bessang Pass. Maybe we have crossed paths before on those windy, twisty, cliff hanging roads without knowing it.... :)
